Good evening, so far this week it has been cloudy, cold, but rather

dull, all that is set to change over the next few hours. We have

weather warnings out for snow really from the Midlands further

north and affecting the higher routes across northern England and

parts of Scotland. Because of this frontal system that is pushing in

from the Atlantic. Ahead of it will be a cloudy night a cold and frosty

one. We will start to see the snow arriving into Scotland. .00 am, the

early morning rush-hour, we could have significant snowfall across

the western highlands and at lower levels, accompanied by gale force

gusts of winds making for blizzard conditions. Milder air into

Northern Ireland. Rain into west Wales. To the east of that it is

cloudy, gold and grey. Down into the South West, milder air already

here seven degrees. Rain across Cornwall and Devon rather than snow.

For a time we could see snow to North Wales, the Midlands and

northern England and some pretty strong blustery winds. We could see

15 centimetres of snowfall to the higher routes across Scotland, two

to four centimetres at lower levels. The same too across the M06 and M62

with 10 centimetres of snow likely acrosslets peaks and Pennines. One

to three centimetres through the the Midlands. As it tracks further

east there could be icy surfaces across north-east England as well.

The milder air will win out, turning back to rain. Look at

Belfast, 10 degrees here. Disappointing cold feel to the day

in London. We want to stress the possibility of difficult driving

conditions to those high level routes to the north of England and
