Good evening. Spring will return but for the time being autumn seems to

have jumped the queue. What an awful day across southern areas, and now

the rain and wind is spinning northward, and intense storm feature

is responsible. You can see it on the satellite imagery. We saw gusts

of up to 70 mph or so. It is now spiralling northward with rain

lodged across Wales and the Midlands. Gusts of 50 mph or so

through parts of the Dorset coast towards the Isle of Wight. Let's

concentrate on the rain, it will move northwards, some of the

heaviest through parts of Wales, no --, the North Midlands into

Cheshire. We could see some snow. Things will dry out across southern

counties into East Anglia, but tomorrow looks dire across northern

England. Cold and wet, across north-east England you will stay

that way for much of the day. Sharp showers across parts of Yorkshire,

Lincolnshire and East Anglia for a time. We will see the cloud breaking

up, so for southern counties of England a much brighter day. There

will be some sunshine, temperatures will be higher, the winds will be

lighter and you will be getting back to normal. Parts of Wales will be

enjoying a better day, bar the odd shower. Things will improve across

north-west England. For Northern Ireland, a relatively benign day,

there will be some showers on the cool breeze, temperatures are below

what they should be, nine, ten or 11 degrees. Scotland is not shaping up

to badly, that rain is fringing the East of Scotland, north-east England

will stay cold and damp for much of the day, slowly improving later.
