scorcher but it is also a long way off a wash-out. A decent amount of

dry, sunny weather throughout the weekend. Some showers will feature,

particularly on Sunday when there is a cool breeze. We go into it on a

fine note. This area of high pressure will build in and bring

thicker cloud into the West and War two spots of drizzle but most of us

are dry through the night. Theorists guys in the east. A cool start to

the weekend, temperatures down to single digits. A lot of you have

sunshine overhead, a bit of cloud producing showers. It is parts of

Scotland and northern England where they are scattered and through the

day. Many places avoid them. While we could see a shower to the south,

particularly the south-west, much of England and Wales will have a dry,

bright day. Winds are light and sunny spells, 17 to 21 Celsius lower

than it should be for the time of year. It will do in

Chester-le-Street if we avoid the showers on Saturday. A greater

chance of a shower on Sunday. By then the breeze will pick up. The

reason is on Saturday night into Sunday, low pressure pushes out of

Iceland towards us. Weather fronts push across. The greatest chance of

showers overnight taking us into Sunday. More of a breeze, more

showers and showers across southern -- Scotland could be heavy with hail

and thunder. The further south we go, a few morning showers will can't

be ruled out but many dry in the afternoon. The breeze will come into

play in that it will drop the temperature across Scotland and

Northern Ireland but we could -- but we could get up to 23 Celsius in the

south-west corner. Many of you will head to the Mediterranean. You will

find hot weather especially in the West. Across parts of Spain and

Portugal, up to 40 Celsius. Sunshine dominates in the Mediterranean with

temperatures into 30s but storms will be rumbling away into Greece
