Friday. A quiet spell for us. Not so on the other side of the world. As

you have been hearing, there is not a great deal happening in the

weather over the UK over the next couple of days.

Meanwhile, we have been attacked thing -- tracking an active spring

storm in the US. There have been reports of flash flooding and

tornadoes. You can see a narrowband which is weakening and heading out

to the Atlantic. It is the Atlantic tonight that will pick up whether

funds to the north of the UK, bringing with them or cloud and

outbreaks of rain. Meanwhile, pressure remains relatively high to

the south. There is a small chance of patchy mist and fog and low cloud

by the end of the night. But temperatures will fall away again. A

chilly start to Wednesday morning. There will be a bit of a breeze

blowing in the north. But it will be a fairly cloudy and wet affair first

thing in the morning here. The rain will be sticking to the north-west

of Scotland. Further south after a bright start to the day, the cloud

will increase for the afternoon and there is a small chance of that

producing the odd light shower through parts of south-west England

and Wales. A bit more overcast compared to today, but having said

that, a milder day quite wide league. -- quite widely. The main

focus of our wet weather will be from the western isles pushing into

the Northern Isles and affecting the north-west Highlands. That band of

rain will slowly move south through the night and into Thursday

morning. It is weakening as it enters our high-pressure system. At

the moment, it looks like it will mainly affect parts of northern

England on Thursday. Not bringing a huge amount of rain, but keeping it

overcast. High and that, the skies will brighten. Ahead of it, most

places will stay dry. As we look to the end of the week, many places

will stay dry. The cloud will come and go. On Friday, there is a good

chance of seeing sunny spells. The weekend forecast at the moment looks

relatively settled.
