suspect we can. Unconfirmed about -- concerned about the fog around. Here

is Helen with the national picture. Good evening. The weather is upon

us. The cloud has made all the difference this week in particular.

We have had some wonderful weather watcher pictures, this is Marlowe in

Buckinghamshire, this was Conwy earlier in the day. Some areas still

have the cloud. What a difference that makes. Edinburgh, the central

lowlands, plagued by this band of narrow cloud, overnight more areas

share in the frost. Pretty widespread, the frost overnight,

cold across northern England, Southern Scotland and Northern

Ireland than it has been this week. These are town and city temperatures

but in the countryside a harsh frost and sharp in some areas and colder

than it has been. Because we have had a weak weather front we have

more moisture around so fog is falling and we could have more

across eastern England and eastern and northern Scotland and the odd

pocket elsewhere which will take time to clear at this time of year.

Once it does so for central and southern Scotland it looks much

brighter tomorrow than it has been all week and parts of Northern

Ireland should have sunshine in the morning. A semi start in northern

England barring the fog which could be problematic for the Vale of York.

If the cloud comes in later it could turn out to be a cold and grey

afternoon with a few wintry flurries. Not significant but

nevertheless wintry at lower levels. We could see more cloud in the south

and west, bright rather than sunny into the afternoon, but cold, cold

weather sunny or cloudy. With breaks in the cloud and other cold night

tomorrow night is expected and with a few heavy showers in the west and

a frost, there could be more problems with this heading into

Sunday morning. And again, some patchy fog. On balance Sunday looks

like the cloudy day of the weekend, you can see there is a risk of

wintry showers in the east, we have a few showers for Western Southern

Open area is so central and eastern areas faring better with a few

breaks in the cloud for Northern Ireland as well, but essentially

still quite a bit of dry and settled weather because the high pressure
