central and southern England it will be a cloudy, quite humid night, to

the far north-east of Scotland a chilly start but predominantly dry.

The rain arrives during the early hours and that will continue to

drift steadily north, the heaviest at 8am in the rush-hour, perhaps

close to the Borders and into north-west England and the Isle of

Man. A brief lull through Northern Ireland but I will come back to

that. The rain set in North Wales and further south scattering of

showers, maybe a bit of early-morning brightness in this

sticky comity with feeling in the south. Going through the day, there

is potential as the rain drips northwards for some sharp, thundery

downpours in Northern Ireland and south-east England and some of those

could be quite torrential with the possibility of some localised

flooding because the ground is so hard. Through Tuesday night into

Wednesday we are surrounded by low pressure and it really could be

quite an interesting night across England and Wales with some of the

show was quite heavy and torrential and could cause some issues as they

continue to drift northwards going through Wednesday. A slow

improvement to the south with 20 degrees and it will not be too bad

in Central and northern Scotland as well. Just to add insult to injury,

that weather front will then drift further south on Thursday and Friday

bringing yet more rain and some pretty windy conditions with the
