turbulent couple of days, the weather is slowly but surely

beginning to calm down. We should not see too many more scenes like

this, an impressive thunderstorm which affected Reigate. During the

day the focus for showers and storms shifted further west and north.

Those showers are a drifting across north-east England and southern

Scotland. Some of these showers gave a lot of rain in a short space of

time giving some localised flooding across North Wales particularly.

These showers and thunderstorms will continue to trundle eastwards as we

go through the rest of the night. Quite a muggy night across the

eastern part of the country. Thing is beginning to turn cooler and

fresh out west. 11 degrees by Belfast. Eastern Scotland and

eastern England will start off cloudy with some splashes of rain.

The humid start. The odd thunderstorm across East Anglia.

Then the rain will clear away and for the most part, things will

brighten up with some spells of sun trying. A few showers across the

south-west later in the day and perhaps fringing into West Wales as

well. From the Midlands up into northern England, we will see some

sunshine. Temperatures nothing to write home about. One place which

will stay wet is the far north-east of Scotland. Later in the afternoon

we will cease showers working into Northern Ireland. Some could be

thundery as well. That is the precursor to what will happen on

Friday. The low pressure winding itself up, pushing into western

parts of the British Isles and moving very slowly indeed. Once the

rain arrives across the South West and Wales, it will not move through

very quickly. A soggy day here. Some rain in the West Midlands. Eastern

Scotland and England staying largely dry. Filey warmed towards the

south-east, but not as warm as it has been. -- fairly warm.
