The low comes in and more cloud on Sunday with a bigger chance of

seeing one or two showers. Now the National weather picture.

We've got some unsettled and showery weather on the cards over the next

couple of days. There were some heavy showers earlier today. This

was the scene as the sunset in North Wales earlier in the evening. We

have low-pressure approaching Wales and the south-west of England. It's

heading in. It's going to bring heavy rain across parts of Northern

Ireland through the early of Friday. As for the golf, the Open at Royal

Birkdale, we have a chance of rain at times in the next couple of days.

Windy on Friday. For the rest of the night we have the cloud increasing

from the West as the low-pressure moves in, turning wet and windy

across Northern Ireland through the early hours of Friday. The heavy

rain pushing into western parts of Wales and south-west of England.

Further north and east you will more likely to stay largely dry, heading

through into the early hours of Friday. Friday morning, 8am, the

heaviest of the downpours will be in the Isles of Scilly through towards

Pembrokeshire. Some outbreaks of rain in Wales and the south-west of

England where it will turn windy. Brighter, drier weather for the

south-east of England and East Anglia. Mostly dry start in northern

England. Northern Ireland has the heavy rain through the morning, was

lying surface water and spray on the roads. Scotland has a better

morning. Clear skies with some sunshine. A few blustery showers

across the south-west of Scotland. Moving through the day, the

low-pressure will be quite slow moving in the West. It means we'll

continue to see heavy rain, particularly through parts of Wales,

the south-west of England. Windy here, so the culmination of heavy

rain and winds mean some disruption to travel. Further north and east,

for eastern England and Scotland, a largely dry picture. Into the

evening hours, the heaviest showers drift northwards and eastwards

through Central parts of the country. With low-pressure not far

away it sets the scene through the weekend. Some heavy, blustery

showers. There will be some drier and sunny spells. It will not be a

wash-out through the weekend. On Saturday, low-pressure towards the

south-west, you can see the winds rotating with further scattered

heavy showers, perhaps the odd rumble of thunder, and a few more

showers creeping northwards and eastwards. Scotland will have the

drier weather during Saturday. Relatively cool, 16-21. By Sunday,

still low-pressure but this time it's drifting further east. Central

and eastern parts of the country seeing some heavy showers. It will

be a dry day No-one... ..tells us...
