Good evening. At this time of year the climate tells us to expect the

wettest weather in the north and the driest in the south but that is not

what we have seen today and southern areas had quite a deluge, a dismal

scene from a weather watcher in London compare to this beautiful

sunset in Shetland and it was the far north of Scotland that had the

lion's share of the sunshine. Further south a lot of cloud and

particularly of southern England a lot of rain with some heavy bursts

and we will see some wet weather through the night in the south-east

and East Anglia. That will clear to the east and after that beautiful

day in northern Scotland the rain will come in through the night and

in the small hours some heavy showers are beginning to come in

from the west on a strong and blustery wind. Tomorrow, low

pressure dominating and back to something more like normal with most

of the showers in the north where the closest to the area of low

pressure and not as many in the south. Any showers cropping up in

the south of England and Wales will blow through quickly on the strong

and gusty wind which could be strong enough to give few problems whereas

showers will be slow moving in Scotland with the wind very light.

If you catch one it could be with you for some time and could give a

lot of rain and some thunder and lightning. The showers easing

through the day in Northern Ireland and it could reach 20 degrees in

Belfast and also in northern England. East Anglia and the

south-east, not many showers and any that appear will go through quickly

given the strength of the wind but that is unusually strong for this

time of year. The question you might be asking is where as the summer
