the weekend, it's going to be warming up. The big picture is with

BBC Weather. Hello and good evening. Summer warmth made a vague attempt

at a comeback earlier on this week, but it was swept chromatically aside

over the last 24 hours by some very heavy downpours, which caused

localised flooding in places. Most of the showers now have cleared

away, some rain still affecting the Northern Isles Scotland. But for

many, it was a fine end to the day. Through the next few days, we stick

with this slightly, flavour of -- this slightly calmer flavour of

weather. A few showers for Wales and for north-west England, a few more

for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Persistent rain continuing across

Western Isles. Tomorrow, we see the rain moving northwards across the

Northern Isles. Some showers for Scotland and Northern Ireland and

for north-west England, mainly dry down towards the south. By the

middle of the afternoon, the showers might be merging together to give

some slightly more persistent rain for Northern Ireland and western

Scotland. Eastern Scotland, just a few showers. A few showers perhaps

for Wales, but is essentially it will be dry. Down into the Midlands,

East Anglia and the south-east of England, it should stay fine with

some sunshine. It will stay fine in the south on Thursday evening. Up in

the north-west, still some outbreaks of showery rain, with the low

pressure close by. But generally, the pressure pattern is fairly

slack, with not many isobars. The winds are fairly light, there is

nothing much to move the weather around. We will be sticking with the

same sort of weather for the next few days. In the sunshine, towards

the south and east, feeling fairly warm. Into the weekend, southern

areas will stay mostly dry. Not too many showers. Further north and

west, a greater chance of seeing some showers at times
