For many of us the first day of September has been financed right.

We have had some heavy showers and thunderstorms across parts of

eastern England. Further west it's been a quieter picture. Here's the

scene as the sunset in Devon, clear skies there and with clear skies

across many parts of the country it skies there and with clear skies

will be quite a fresh start to the weekend. Saturday bringing us lots

of sunshine, turning a bit more soggy on Sunday. A few heavy showers

for the likes of Cambridge are down to Kent. Most of them easing away

overnight. We have clear skies and light wind. Likely to be some mist

and fog patches first thing. Temperatures just about scraping

double figures for the towns and cities, but in more rural spots it's

more single figures widely, and they could even be a touch of ground

frost across some parts in the north, some Kodjia areas seeing a

cold start to the day. To compensate, sunshine for most places

from the word go. A fair bit of cloud bubbling up through the day

which could bring some huge isolated showers across the East of England.

In Scotland, 4pm in the afternoon, a dry and bright picture, 17 or 18

degrees, feeling pleasantly light wind. Northern Ireland also having a

decent day but there is some rain waiting out towards the West. Moving

south across England and Wales, 19 or 20 degrees in sunny spells will

feel pleasant. The chance of a few isolated showers across Norfolk and

Kent. The south-west of England and much of Wales looking dry and bright

for much of the day. Into the evening, we will see wind picking up

in the West with rain arriving across Northern Ireland and then

pushing into western Scotland, north-west England, Wales and the

south-west. A wet start to Sunday here whereas Central and eastern

areas will be reasonably dry and mild first thing. Sunday will be

dominated by a weather front moving in from the west. High-pressure

sitting at the near continent. The rain towards the West will make its

way gradually further east as we had through the day. Patchy outbreaks of

rain across central parts of the country through Sunday afternoon. It

will be cooler than Saturday, 15-19. And then things will turn milder,

although it will stay quite cloudy
