Hello, we are book ending the week

with frosty mornings. Monday morning

and again, tomorrow morning. In

between we had a mild spell. Today

in fact it was 15 Celsius in

southern England but by this

afternoon, for Scotland and Northern

Ireland it was single figure

temperatures with a few blustery

showers around. The colder air has

just about completed its journey

southwards across the UK, with the

cold front. The leading edge of cold

air. Clearing skies behind it.

Overnight a few showers running into

the north and north-west of

Scotland. Wintering on hills,

perhaps that low-level is on strong

to gale force winds. Further south,

the skies are clear and the wind is

light, lowest temperatures overnight

in many of the south-east and

Northern Ireland. As ever

temperatures lower away from towns

and city centres. A widespread

slight frost going into the morning.

Suburbs, countryside, getting below

freezing in some spots, maybe -4,

perhaps minus five. A bit of extra

time should be allowed to scrape ice

off the car. The cold start will

reward you with plenty of sunshine.

There will be a few showers running

into North and north-west Scotland.

Wintering on the hills, strong to

gale force winds. The maybe a road

one into north-west England but for

many visits a dry, sunny day --

there may be a rogue shower. Whether

winds light there might be -- it

will feel OK for a time but after

dark tomorrow evening things will

turn cold quickly. If you are going

outside for Children in Need it is,

Pudsey is OK because he has further,

but the rest of us will need to stay

warm. More cloud around at the

weekend, a colder feel because of

it. In parts of Northern Ireland and
