It's not often the Met office issued

a Red Warning. It is therefore the

most serious weather situations.

That's what we have at the moment in

parts of Scotland. This area

covering much of the Central Belt.

Frequent snow showers, travel

becoming all but impossible. It's

part of a larger area of Amber

Warning covering more of Scotland

and parts of northern England. Heavy

snow showers and disruption as a

result. You can see them drifting in

overnight. Scattered snow showers

elsewhere with further accumulations

of a few centimetres. It's worth

checking before you head out in the

morning what's happened overnight

before attempting a journey. Another

severe frost although perhaps not

numerically as it was across

southern England as it was last

night but it feels just as cold with

the wind. Tomorrow a difficult start

to the date we've got the snow and

the snow showers there. If you sunny

spells scattered elsewhere but

increasing cloud in southern

England, Wales and patchy Briggs of

snow developing here. Another

bitterly cold day -- patchy

outbreaks of snow developing here.

The wind making it feel much colder,

in Cardiff it will feel like minus

11. The first day of meteorological

spring is tomorrow but these

temperatures not doing it justice.

We'll see more wind and snow heading

into southern areas. Storm Emma is

moving its moisture northwards into

the cold air. Some of that snow will

pipe up tomorrow evening

particularly in parts of south-west

England and Wales. Things going

downhill through the day and the

evening. And Amber Warning here,

perhaps blizzards in the wind and

maybe seeing less cold air running

into southernmost parts. A risk of

freezing rain and icy conditions

going into Friday morning. A lot to

play for on Friday where an area of

snow set up across England and

Wales. Keep watching for updates,

but disruption for some of us.

Further snow showers into eastern

Scotland. On Friday still bitterly

cold. Some dangerous and challenging

travelling weather over the next few
