A 38-year-old woman has admitted causing death by careless driving

after a three year-old boy died in Jersey.

Clinton Pringle was on his way to Millennium Park when he was hit

But the guilty plea did not satisfy the prosecution so Rebekah Le Gal

will still stand trial charged with the more serious

offence of causing death by dangerous driving.

Clinton Pringle was on holiday from Scotland, visiting family

As he was walking into Millennium Town Park,

he was hit by a Volkswagen transporter van on Tunnell Street.

The three-year-old was flown to hospital in Southampton by air

ambulance, but died a few days later from his injuries.

Scores of tributes were left at the scene.

Rebekah Le Gal was released on bail today after pleading not guilty

to causing Clinton's death by driving dangerously -

a charge that can carry up to ten years in prison.

The 38-year-old will return to this court on

the 13th June for her trial, although she will

have the opportunity to re-enter her plea in May.

Today she did admit to the lesser charge of causing death

It carries a five-year prison sentence - that's half the amount

of time you could spend in prison if found guilty

But that count will not be dealt with until after her trial.

rain this evening is quite welcome. I've settled this weekend, rain

showers, it will also stay quite breezy two. The setup is for a lot

of cloud as you can see from the satellite picture. Some holes in the

cloud. The speckled nature, seeing cloud that can degenerate into

showers. The cloud moves north, allowing a window of sunny spells

and showers as well stop wet weather first thing on Sunday morning.

Staying windy, temperatures into double figures. The showers we have

seen today will continue for a time overnight but will gradually fade

away and for a while, it becomes dry with clear skies and temperatures as

low as six or 7 degrees. Tomorrow, we will see some sunshine, which

went showers, sunny spells and the risk of a few showers at some point

through the day, although the cloud is moving quite fast with a brisk

westerly wind and just 10 degrees, but top temperature. More persistent
