A Derbyshire community has turned out to support a local pub landlady
who is facing closure because her rent has been put up by over 40%. A
public meeting was packed in Duffield to support The Pattenmakers
Arms ` which has just been named best pub in Derbyshire by CAMRA.
Locals say it's the heart of the community. The company which owns
the pub says it's offering the market rate, but the landlady says
if the proposed rise of 42% goes ahead, she can't renew her tenancy.
