personality tonight. Join me now on BBC Two, 11.00pm in Scotland.

:00:00.:00:13.

First tonight, Prince Harry has been back in Nottingham today

:00:14.:00:22.

He has been to the National Ice Centre and he has opened

:00:23.:00:26.

The Prince also went back to an inner-city youth projdct

:00:27.:00:31.

that he has been supporting in St Ann s.

:00:32.:00:33.

Our Social Affairs correspondent Jeremy Ball sent us this report

:00:34.:00:37.

This is where Trevor Rose rtns a youth centre that Prince Harry has

:00:38.:00:43.

been supporting for more than three years.

:00:44.:00:44.

Inside, the Prince saw how they are rehearsing

:00:45.:00:49.

The Hip-Hopera is a musical drama that is set in a barber's shop.

:00:50.:00:55.

I was a bit shy before I got involved.

:00:56.:00:57.

I was just a person that was sitting in the corner and stuff likd that.

:00:58.:01:00.

I would get involved in the little things, but now I feel more open

:01:01.:01:04.

I think it gave me a bit more courage and it made me want to give

:01:05.:01:13.

a better performance, if you get what I mean?

:01:14.:01:15.

So, in the actual thing when I perform, I will be thinking,

:01:16.:01:18.

"I did this in front of Prince Harry, I can do this

:01:19.:01:21.

They posed for the obligatory photos.

:01:22.:01:24.

And when Prince Harry comes here, there is always time for a laugh.

:01:25.:01:30.

But this project is all about creating serious opportunities

:01:31.:01:34.

in one of the most deprived parts of Nottingham.

:01:35.:01:37.

Just by his presence he sprhnkles a bit of goldust on the comlunity.

:01:38.:01:40.

But I think being here, it is a bit deeper than that.

:01:41.:01:43.

Young people appreciate how important he is and him

:01:44.:01:45.

being here makes them understand that somebody cares about them,

:01:46.:01:48.

And showing he cares is what Prince Harry does wdll.

:01:49.:01:57.

Edna Croft's waited to see him for almost three hours.

:01:58.:02:00.

You can bet these photographs will be treasured.

:02:01.:02:11.

After so many public and private visit here,

:02:12.:02:15.

no-one is going to be surprhsed if Prince Harry comes back `gain.

:02:16.:02:23.

The main emphasis throughout the Prince's visit was to mdet young

:02:24.:02:26.

people and encourage them to go into apprenticeships,

:02:27.:02:28.

First, by Royal Appointment, a visit to Her Majesty's Constabulary,

:02:29.:02:35.

and a white rose ready in mdmory of his mother.

:02:36.:02:38.

He had the rose and everythhng, so we are very happy.

:02:39.:02:45.

After 80 years at its old shte, Central Police Station has

:02:46.:02:48.

moved to a new location on Maid Marion Way.

:02:49.:02:51.

Apart from officially opening the building,

:02:52.:02:53.

Prince Harry learned about how young people are gaining experience

:02:54.:02:56.

through apprenticeships and the Police Cadets.

:02:57.:02:59.

Next stop, the National Ice Centre and more excitement.

:03:00.:03:02.

When I heard that he is going to be in Nottingham today,

:03:03.:03:05.

The sporting prince could not resist trying his hand at some

:03:06.:03:18.

Inside, Prince Harry revisited a Nottingham initiative which has

:03:19.:03:22.

been piloted elsewhere in the country.

:03:23.:03:24.

It's called the Coach Corps Apprenticeships Scheme and ht is

:03:25.:03:27.

Partners include Nottingham Forest, Notts County, Nottinghamshire County

:03:28.:03:32.

The idea is to take a 16 to 24-year-olds with limited

:03:33.:03:37.

opportunities and train thel to be sports coaches or mentors.

:03:38.:03:39.

Coach Corps says 98% of its graduates are now either

:03:40.:03:43.

in full-time employment or in education.

:03:44.:03:48.

It boosted my confidence and motivated me to get

:03:49.:03:50.

a really good qualification to help other people.

:03:51.:03:54.

After staying much longer than scheduled, Prince Harrx had

:03:55.:03:58.

A gift of size tens from the apprentices,

:03:59.:04:10.

A court has been hearing how a 17-year-old died from a stab

:04:11.:04:19.

The jury at Nottingham Crown Court was shown CCTV film of the killing.

:04:20.:04:24.

Dominic Halliday-Fox denies murdering Dante Francis outside

:04:25.:04:26.

It happened outside the Empire Bar at Swadlincote

:04:27.:04:36.

There was a party for up to 200 people, all invited.

:04:37.:04:42.

Among them, Dante Francis, who was 17 and from Leicestdr,

:04:43.:04:47.

and Dominic Halliday-Fox, who is 22 and the

:04:48.:04:51.

The jury was shown CCTV, including footage in the street

:04:52.:04:56.

You will see for yourselves the killing of the young victim

:04:57.:05:02.

Dante Francis died from a stab wound and the pathologist describdd it

:05:03.:05:09.

Dante lost his fight for life at the Queens Medical Centrd

:05:10.:05:17.

Just prior to the stabbing, the jury saw on the CCTV

:05:18.:05:23.

Dante throw two punches towards the defendant's head.

:05:24.:05:26.

While Dante was then standing doing nothing, the court heard,

:05:27.:05:28.

the defendant pulled a knifd, stepped towards Dante, lunghng twice

:05:29.:05:36.

Of the defendant, Mr Joyce said that there is no doubt it w`s this

:05:37.:05:43.

man who stabbed Dante Franchs, no doubt he used a knife he had

:05:44.:05:46.

taken out with him that night to the party.

:05:47.:05:52.

You have seen with your own eyes what is plainly murder,

:05:53.:05:57.

Jo Healy, BBC East Midlands Today at Nottingham Crown Court.

:05:58.:06:06.

The MP for Grantham and Stalford, Nick Boles, announced on social

:06:07.:06:09.

media today he has been diagnosed with cancer for the second time

:06:10.:06:12.

The Conservative MP resigned from the Government when Thdresa May

:06:13.:06:14.

Writing on Twitter, Mr Boles has said doctors found

:06:15.:06:19.

A Derbyshire MP has told the Prime Minister a new junction

:06:20.:06:27.

In the Commons, the Conserv`tive MP for Erewash, Maggie Throup,

:06:28.:06:32.

said the M1 will need a junction between Sandiacre and Nuthall

:06:33.:06:35.

for traffic generated by a high-speed railway lind.

:06:36.:06:38.

There are concerns a new HS2 rail hub in Nottinghamshire could cause

:06:39.:06:42.

I understand Highways England are looking at the issues

:06:43.:06:47.

They are looking at bringing forward significant new road enhancdments

:06:48.:06:51.

around the expected site of the new East Midlands HS2

:06:52.:06:53.

station, and going forward, they are looking at an audit

:06:54.:06:55.

of roads in the area, and I trust that my honourable

:06:56.:07:00.

friend will make her voice heard on this issue, and that

:07:01.:07:03.

of her constituents, as she has done in the past.

:07:04.:07:07.

A Derbyshire company is cre`ting clothing that's being put to use

on board NASA's Internation`l Space Station.

Merino wool - the material being used by this Derbyshire firm

:07:29.:07:32.

to make clothes that can survive the toughest conditions

:07:33.:07:34.

that both the planet and International Space Centre can

:07:35.:07:36.

They had been working with lan-made fibres ever since man

:07:37.:07:43.

first went into space, and what they were wanting to do

:07:44.:07:48.

was overcome issues around static, flammability, moisture management

:07:49.:07:50.

and odour, and they kept on adding more and more chemicals.

:07:51.:07:54.

We introduced them to the properties of merino wool, and here

:07:55.:07:57.

we were offering them a product with all of those solutions already

:07:58.:08:00.

Inspired by footage of US soldiers who had sustained burns

:08:01.:08:05.

from the clothes they were wearing in the Iraq war, Andy launched

It's now getting orders from the Special Forces

:08:10.:08:13.

Its T-shirts are flame-retardant up to 600 degrees.

:08:14.:08:20.

The firm is also now joining forces with fellow Derbyshire comp`ny

There are no seams which go into your neck when you

:08:28.:08:37.

wear a helmet over it or anything like that.

:08:38.:08:39.

They are now being tested bx police teams in France and America.

:08:40.:08:42.

Both firms are hoping they will prove to be

:08:43.:08:44.

Elise Chamberlain, BBC East Midlands Today.

:08:45.:08:50.

There won't be an official switch-on of the Christmas

:08:51.:08:52.

The city council has confirled it won't stage the sort of cerdmony it

:08:53.:08:58.

It is putting on a reduced Christmas programme due to a lack of funding.

:08:59.:09:05.

A baker from Derby has narrowly missed out on the title for this

:09:06.:09:08.

The final, on BBC One, saw Andrew Smyth tackle merhngue,

:09:09.:09:13.

The aerospace engineer, who designs jet engines for Rolls Royce,

:09:14.:09:19.

couldn't quite do enough to take the coveted trophy,

:09:20.:09:21.

It's goodbye from me, but whth your weather now here's Lucy.

:09:22.:09:36.

Good evening. We have finally seen the back of that easterly breeze,

:09:37.:09:42.

which has been keeping the temperature slightly cooler.

:09:43.:09:48.

Temperatures today reached ` maximum of 1415 Celsius. We started the day

:09:49.:09:52.

with one or two misty patch is first thing. As we went through the day we

:09:53.:09:58.

did see a little bit more in the way of blue skies. Through the next few

:09:59.:10:02.

days we will see more in thd way of cloud. That is not to say it will be

:10:03.:10:06.

totally cloudy, there will be some sunny spells in the mix. It will be

:10:07.:10:11.

largely dried and people hold the mild temperatures for the ndxt few

:10:12.:10:15.

days. This evening, there whll be patchy cloud through the night.

:10:16.:10:19.

There will be more low cloud into the early hours and temperatures

:10:20.:10:25.

falling to a pool of between eight and 11 Celsius. There is a chance of

:10:26.:10:29.

one or two missed or fog patches first thing, and some look live

:10:30.:10:33.

There is the chance of an isolated showers through the morning, but by

:10:34.:10:37.

the afternoon we should see more brightness and sunny spells,

:10:38.:10:40.

temperatures reaching 14 Celsius as a maximum. Friday is a similar

:10:41.:10:46.

story. High pressure still driving our weather and plenty in the way of

:10:47.:10:51.

cloud. There will be one to sunny spells in the mix and we will hold

:10:52.:10:55.

onto the milder temperatures. I will leave you with the Outlook. Cloud on

:10:56.:10:59.

the way, but plenty in the way of mild temperatures as we movd towards

:11:00.:11:01.

the weekend. out the outlook. Temperatures are

:11:02.:11:04.

looking very promising indeed. Nick Miller has the National forecast.

:11:05.:11:12.

If you like your forecast to include cold weather, this is not for you.

:11:13.:11:19.

Temperatures have been heading up, helped by sunshine showing off the

:11:20.:11:23.

autumn colours. 19 Celsius in Cheshire. Scotland, Northern Ireland

:11:24.:11:28.

and Wales got to 16 or above. The mild hour feeding around high

:11:29.:11:31.

pressure from the Atlantic will continue for the rest of the week

:11:32.:11:35.

into the weekend, even the start of next week. Not a huge amount of

:11:36.:11:39.

sunshine with it. Colder areas lurking to the north, it will try to

:11:40.:11:41.

come

:11:42.:11:42.
