As police search for the boyfriend of TV reality star Ferne McCann

:00:00.:00:08.

in connection with the acid attack at a nightclub - we hear

:00:09.:00:11.

All of a sudden, my arm, my back started burning and then

:00:12.:00:15.

people were just running over screaming because

:00:16.:00:17.

An explosion at a property in north London injures four people -

:00:18.:00:25.

More than 70 firefighters have worked for several hours to bring

:00:26.:00:38.

the fire under control. It's not known yet what has caused this

:00:39.:00:49.

explosion. Also, what is on the cards for young people that are

:00:50.:00:53.

voting for the first time in the general election.

:00:54.:00:54.

And runaway bride - why it's going to be a big day

:00:55.:00:57.

for this woman from Greenwich - even before the marathon starts.

:00:58.:01:04.

Good evening and welcome to the programme, with me Riz Lateef.

:01:05.:01:08.

Police are continuing to search for a man they'd like to question

:01:09.:01:13.

about an acid attack at a London nightclub.

:01:14.:01:15.

They're looking for Arthur Collins from Broxbourne.

:01:16.:01:20.

His girlfriend, the TV celebrity Ferne McCann,

:01:21.:01:22.

20 people were injured in this attack - the latest in a growing

:01:23.:01:26.

number of similar assaults across the capital.

:01:27.:01:28.

The club was really packed and everyone was dancing.

:01:29.:01:32.

I think everyone was having genuinely a good time.

:01:33.:01:40.

This clubner, who wants to remain anonymous,

:01:41.:01:41.

told us she was horrified by what happened next.

:01:42.:01:43.

All of a sudden, my arm and my back started burning and then people

:01:44.:01:48.

were just running over, screaming because they had it

:01:49.:01:56.

all in their eyes and people's faces were really, really burnt.

:01:57.:01:59.

It was awful and you could see where the acid had splashed on their face.

:02:00.:02:03.

The emergency services were called to the Mangle E8 club in Dalston

:02:04.:02:05.

Officers believe acid was sprayed by a male suspect

:02:06.:02:09.

The police want to question a man, Arthur Collins.

:02:10.:02:13.

This image was taken of him at the club.

:02:14.:02:16.

Here he can be seen with reality TV star Ferne McCann,

:02:17.:02:19.

who wasn't with him at the time of the incident.

:02:20.:02:21.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the star said...

:02:22.:02:31.

Two men are in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

:02:32.:02:34.

20 people were injured, including Isabella Fraser.

:02:35.:02:38.

She was in the club with her sister, Prue, at the time.

:02:39.:02:41.

They are from Australia and spoke to a channel there.

:02:42.:02:44.

Someone just ran into me and had acid or something

:02:45.:02:48.

all over their face and I felt it on my back.

:02:49.:02:54.

I thought someone had scratched me or something because I was stinging

:02:55.:02:56.

and then I realised my shirt was actually stuck to my skin.

:02:57.:02:59.

Everyone was saying, it's acid that's been thrown.

:03:00.:03:04.

This is the third incident that we know about in the last two weeks.

:03:05.:03:10.

This type of crime used to be considered relatively rare

:03:11.:03:13.

but in the last six years there's been an upward trend.

:03:14.:03:16.

Figures obtained by BBC London showed that acid

:03:17.:03:19.

attacks are at the highest levels since 2011.

:03:20.:03:21.

There were 452 victims last year alone.

:03:22.:03:23.

Almost 100% more than the year before.

:03:24.:03:25.

Some blame this on the availability of such substances

:03:26.:03:34.

These are much easier to buy in other weapons.

:03:35.:03:41.

There is no specific offence of throwing acid.

:03:42.:03:46.

It would have to be determined as grievous bodily harm,

:03:47.:03:49.

for instance, and the sentencing is perhaps not reflective

:03:50.:03:51.

of the dreadful, dreadful damage that can be done here.

:03:52.:03:58.

This is not just an attempt to disfigure somebody,

:03:59.:04:00.

this is an attempt to destroy their image, their future.

:04:01.:04:07.

Those who set out to have an innocent drink and a dance

:04:08.:04:13.

this weekend but were caught up in the attack said they

:04:14.:04:16.

What police saying about the search for Arthur Collins? They would like

:04:17.:04:28.

information on the whereabouts on the 25-year-old. He is from

:04:29.:04:32.

Hertfordshire he is wanted for questioning. Detectives say he

:04:33.:04:37.

should not be approached. If members of the public see him, they should

:04:38.:04:42.

dial 909. Two other men are wanted in connection to the antigen. There

:04:43.:04:46.

is nothing to suggest this is gang-related at this stage. What do

:04:47.:04:54.

we know that the victims? 12 people at a hospital. A total of 20 people

:04:55.:05:00.

suffered burns. Two men aged 24 and 29 were transferred to a specialist

:05:01.:05:05.

burns unit in Essex and remain in a serious but stable condition. Thank

:05:06.:05:08.

you very much indeed. So, it was announced yesterday

:05:09.:05:09.

and became official today. And party leaders have already been

:05:10.:05:11.

hitting the campaign This morning, the Lib Dem leader

:05:12.:05:13.

Tim Farron promised to "park his party's tanks on the Tory

:05:14.:05:19.

lawns of southwest London". By this afternoon, Labour leader

:05:20.:05:23.

Jeremy Corbyn was visiting the key Here's our political

:05:24.:05:26.

correspondent, Karl Mercer. The election may have been a

:05:27.:05:59.

surprise but the banners are ready and game is on. Six places stage

:06:00.:06:06.

left. The Lib Dems don't have much to cheer about in London is of the

:06:07.:06:11.

chose Richmond Park on day one of the campaign. Server only won this

:06:12.:06:17.

seat in December, beating that Goldsmith. This success she believes

:06:18.:06:26.

good. We took the message to begin service of Government body plans to

:06:27.:06:30.

Brexit. I'm hoping that we take the opportunity to do so again. Lots of

:06:31.:06:37.

Lib Dems lost the seat last general election. All that like they would

:06:38.:06:44.

like to stand again. The hugely important significance is for us. We

:06:45.:06:47.

are looking like places like Vauxhall. Heavily pro-Leave and

:06:48.:06:56.

labour. Every liberal urgency. -- constituency. Their proponents are

:06:57.:07:01.

ready. They will point out that liberal have two out of three seat

:07:02.:07:07.

in north London. He allowed the tuition fees go through. It has

:07:08.:07:11.

policies that have left families unable to access legal aid in this

:07:12.:07:15.

constituency. If you Lib Dems want to choose Sir Simon, that is their

:07:16.:07:21.

decision. It's a similar story for the woman that beat Vince Cable last

:07:22.:07:27.

time round. I do not know what is wrong with me but I am looking

:07:28.:07:30.

forward to the eviction. I think it's because you are talking to

:07:31.:07:34.

people. That is what I remember in 2015 when the polls start at ten

:07:35.:07:41.

o'clock and I had the feeling of, oh. Labour's bridge was in London's

:07:42.:07:46.

most marginal seat in Croydon. Labour health but only by a few

:07:47.:07:52.

votes. Labour council in court is building has a. I want a Labour

:07:53.:07:59.

Government that builds council housing. The rallying cries have

:08:00.:08:07.

only just started. There are 50 more days of this to come.

:08:08.:08:08.

So - if this surprise election is going to change London's

:08:09.:08:11.

political landscape, what impact could

:08:12.:08:12.

Some won't have been eligible for the EU Referendum -

:08:13.:08:15.

but their first vote could decide how Brexit affects the capital,

:08:16.:08:18.

as Frankie Mccamley has been finding out.

:08:19.:08:22.

In a snap general election, there is only one game to play

:08:23.:08:26.

to find out what these young voters will be looking out

:08:27.:08:30.

Well, the way I see it, she's like a mad head teacher.

:08:31.:08:43.

Now she's called the election it's like, well, maybe this Jeremy Corbyn

:08:44.:08:46.

might have an idea or Labour or Lib Dems.

:08:47.:08:48.

If you open up the floor, you don't know what people are going to say.

:08:49.:08:52.

It's not just the people, it's also the services on offer.

:08:53.:08:57.

I'm a massive fan of it because it's still free health care,

:08:58.:09:07.

there's going to be a lot of issues with it, I'll be looking for someone

:09:08.:09:10.

Obviously, if you're critically ill, it would be amazing if you can

:09:11.:09:15.

If anyone's able to do that, that would be amazing.

:09:16.:09:25.

And what about the reason they're in college today?

:09:26.:09:27.

A few decades ago, people would go to uni because the degree

:09:28.:09:32.

would guarantee them a job when they left.

:09:33.:09:33.

I think it would be great for the universities to offer job

:09:34.:09:36.

Despite their opinions, official figures show in the last

:09:37.:09:39.

general election 18-24-year-olds had the smallest turnout at the polls.

:09:40.:09:42.

The 65 and overs had the biggest turnout of nearly 80%.

:09:43.:09:58.

On social media, some celebrities have been focusing on young voters,

:09:59.:10:03.

urging 18 to 24-year-olds not just to register but to take

:10:04.:10:06.

The question is will it make a difference

:10:07.:10:09.

The answer, well, we have to wait around seven weeks for that.

:10:10.:10:20.

Well, our political editor, Tim Donovan joins us

:10:21.:10:22.

So Tim, MPs voted and made it official today so are we starting

:10:23.:10:27.

to get a better picture of who might be standing?

:10:28.:10:34.

Some details. We will no more in a few days. Some familiar names are

:10:35.:10:40.

shaping up. The Lib Dems have been quick out of the tracks. They are

:10:41.:10:45.

parading some of their new candidates. They should have

:10:46.:10:50.

everybody in place by the end of the week, they say. The Conservatives,

:10:51.:10:58.

we no one of their MPs is standing again. By the end of the week, we

:10:59.:11:04.

will no more there. They say that in that seat and other target seats

:11:05.:11:08.

they would like to win they will place short lists of three in those

:11:09.:11:14.

seats, imposed from Conservative headquarters. Another people -- a

:11:15.:11:21.

number of people lost their seats in 2015 and are now waiting for the

:11:22.:11:25.

cover. None of the Labour MPs are planning to stand down, we hear.

:11:26.:11:31.

Some it was feared would face deselection. We have been told that

:11:32.:11:35.

will not happen. If that does happen within the next 24 hours, people

:11:36.:11:40.

will be able to apply by Sunday and for any other vacant seats in the

:11:41.:11:45.

capital by Sunday. By Monday, we will have a pretty good idea of many

:11:46.:11:47.

mornings. Thank you. Four people have been

:11:48.:11:54.

injured after an explosion Police say bailiffs

:11:55.:11:56.

:12:00.:12:14.

caused to the house by the fire. We understand it began in the basement

:12:15.:12:19.

but quickly involved the entire property. Windows were blown out and

:12:20.:12:24.

tile damage on the roof. Police were called just before midday to reports

:12:25.:12:28.

of a man with a knife. That man was involved in a ongoing housing

:12:29.:12:34.

dispute. He was at the house with some bailiffs and members of his

:12:35.:12:40.

family. After police arrived, there was a small explosion and a suspect

:12:41.:12:44.

was left with serious injuries. He is in a critical condition and

:13:02.:13:06.

got a safe scene to work in and that if any members of the public

:13:07.:13:09.

might be in danger we will move them away from the scene.

:13:10.:13:12.

This area will probably be cordoned off for the rest of the day whilst

:13:13.:13:16.

It appears this was a domestic incident and police say they are not

:13:17.:13:24.

looking for anyone else in connection. No arrests have been

:13:25.:13:29.

made. They are investigating exactly what led to this place. Meanwhile,

Londoner. And we all notice been tried, but

:13:47.:13:57.

:13:58.:14:03.

Now, the great british pub is on the decline in London.

:14:04.:14:07.

Figures from City Hall say pubs in London have fallen by more

:14:08.:14:10.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has pledged to help.

:14:11.:14:16.

Let's get more on this - our reporter Alpa Patel

:14:17.:14:19.

is at a historical pub in Rotherhithe.

:14:20.:14:27.

Yes, this is a real gem of a pop. It dates back to the 16th century. It

:14:28.:14:35.

is named after the Mayflower, the boat that took the pilgrims over to

:14:36.:14:41.

America. There are fears that pubs like this are going to disappear

:14:42.:14:47.

across London. That is because of new figures released by the mayor 's

:14:48.:14:54.

office. According to the figures, over 1200 pubs have disappeared over

:14:55.:14:58.

the last 16 years. That is on average about 80 parts per year. The

:14:59.:15:05.

worst area is Barking and Dagenham. They have lost more than 60% of the

:15:06.:15:10.

Pops. -- 50%. We can talk to the manager of the poor. -- of the pub.

:15:11.:15:20.

Do you recognise the furious that they are facing? Absolutely. I've

:15:21.:15:25.

been here for about four years. I've seen 6-7 pubs that have either

:15:26.:15:34.

closed or be new closing. We have seen it be quite difficult. Time to

:15:35.:15:41.

keep burst stable and over. What you make of the male's pledged to help

:15:42.:15:48.

local pubs? It's not concrete but the fact we have someone like him in

:15:49.:15:54.

a corner is a wonderful thing. I hope there can be some policies put

:15:55.:15:59.

into play to concrete fact that pubs report of heritage and culture.

:16:00.:16:05.

Let's keep it going. -- are a part of our heritage. We will turn to one

:16:06.:16:12.

of the punters there. How many years have been coming here? 42. Longer

:16:13.:16:16.

than I haven't coming to The Mayflower. Why duty coming? Because

:16:17.:16:25.

I live 15 yards away. What would you do if this were disappeared? I Kante

:16:26.:16:33.

contemplated. -- I can't contemplated. Is it a place to

:16:34.:16:39.

socialise? It is. You come from all over the world and you. You only

:16:40.:16:43.

have to stay here and the world comes to you. That is the message

:16:44.:16:50.

from people at The Mayflower. Thank you.

:16:51.:16:53.

Now, it's generally tradition for the groom not to see the bride's

:16:54.:16:56.

But one woman from Greenwich who was diagnosed with breast cancer

:16:57.:17:00.

has shown us her specially designed gown - hope her husband's not

:17:01.:17:11.

watching - because she's planning to run the London marathon in it,

:17:12.:17:14.

immediately after getting married early that morning.

:17:15.:17:16.

Here is a picture of me do my first ever ten K run. I did it just a week

:17:17.:17:27.

before my last chemotherapy. This uninvited is my fiance, Dublin.

:17:28.:17:34.

Fiance from a few more days. On Sunday morning, Duncan becomes

:17:35.:17:37.

Jackie's husband. They will get married on one of London's famous

:17:38.:17:46.

landmarks. We are getting married at 7:30am on the Goddess work. Then we

:17:47.:17:53.

woke up the hill to run the London Marathon. She now has no signs of

:17:54.:18:00.

cancer. They will be raising money for charity and collating all the

:18:01.:18:05.

wedding guests, too. -- donating all the wedding guests. We are running

:18:06.:18:13.

for cancer care. They reminded us that whilst you are a cancer patient

:18:14.:18:17.

and you do with drugs and surgery, you have to be a human being. You're

:18:18.:18:24.

also a young woman with dreams and ambitions and a fiance. They give me

:18:25.:18:30.

the chance to be a person that I was when my fiance fell in love with me.

:18:31.:18:34.

This is Jackie's unconventional wedding dress. She can walk down the

:18:35.:18:44.

aisle in Denver on -- the aisle and then run a marathon. I am so

:18:45.:18:49.

absolutely overwhelmed with everything that Frankie has done for

:18:50.:18:53.

me. Every stitch, some hand-stitched. This is never what I

:18:54.:18:57.

thought I would run in. It gives thousands of people hope. You can

:18:58.:19:03.

come at the other side of a terrible disease. You can still run a

:19:04.:19:10.

marathon after a difficult treatment. It's incredible in itself

:19:11.:19:13.

to run a marathon but after everything you been through, anybody

:19:14.:19:17.

who uses or we can help but be moved by it. A wedding dress and trainers

:19:18.:19:25.

is not something I have seen before. I never thought I'd get married in

:19:26.:19:29.

China. I genuinely couldn't imagine doing it any other way. -- in

:19:30.:19:36.

trainers. It's certainly one way of setting off on the long road of

:19:37.:19:41.

married life. Good luck to everybody that is

:19:42.:19:42.

running this weekend. Just before the weather -

:19:43.:19:44.

an extraordinary collection of rare colour photographs taken

:19:45.:19:46.

during the Second World War have been released by

:19:47.:19:48.

the Imperial War Museum London. Many are being published

:19:49.:19:50.

for the very first time. The images taken by official

:19:51.:19:52.

photographers, news agencies Of course, colour film was rare

:19:53.:19:55.

and it was expensive to reproduce the pictures,

so only a few colour You can see lots more of them

:20:02.:20:06.

on our Facebook page. Time now though for

:20:07.:20:15.

a check on the weather I saw some of the pictures earlier

:20:16.:20:30.

one. They are fantastic. Very colourful pictures today. We've had

:20:31.:20:42.

another Friday. Bring me Sunshine, in London. Lots more sunshine with

:20:43.:20:46.

the next few days. Perhaps a little bit more cloud as well. Earlier one,

:20:47.:20:51.

I spoke about how much rain we have had and that it has been a very dry

:20:52.:20:58.

April. It follows on from a very dry autumn and winter. One millilitre of

:20:59.:21:03.

rain. That this month. There is no significant rain until possibly

:21:04.:21:11.

Monday. That is even in doubt, the latest forecast has now come out.

:21:12.:21:18.

Still a lot of dry weather. Her pressure has been with us all month.

:21:19.:21:24.

-- high-pressure. They weaken and all the rain gets torn out of them.

:21:25.:21:29.

More in the way of cloud. That has just been evaporating as it has been

:21:30.:21:37.

heading our way. Sunshine to end the day. High cloud. That will be with

:21:38.:21:44.

those in the night. Only in the north will be see more significant

:21:45.:21:48.

cloud. In the south of London, a pinch of frost in the countryside.

:21:49.:21:54.

Pretty chilly first thing this morning, as well. Some sunshine. A

:21:55.:22:01.

little bit hazy and milky. It will turn to cloud slowly. Possibly some

:22:02.:22:05.

rain. That is more likely in Hertfordshire. Beveridge was similar

:22:06.:22:10.

to today. Eventually there will be more however. -- temperatures

:22:11.:22:18.

similar to today. Club disguise for many of us on Friday. The chance of

:22:19.:22:24.

some rain. Really that is it. -- cloud for many of us. A bit warmer.

:22:25.:22:32.

Temperatures up to 60-70 . The average temperatures are about 15.

:22:33.:22:35.

-- up to 16-17. Cloudy but try. Before we go tonight,

:22:36.:22:41.

the disruption is continuing for passengers in and out

:22:42.:22:43.

of London Euston after a fire on the line and it's

:22:44.:22:46.

likely to continue If you're one of the thousands of

:22:47.:22:48.

for us now. If you're one of the thousands of

:22:49.:23:03.

people that have turned up in the last couple of hours to get a train,

:23:04.:23:08.

you're been met by a locked door and a leaflet giving suggested
