The Mayor claims half of the Met's police stations could close | :00:07. | :00:11.
There is nowhere else to cut, we will be cutting to the bone, | :00:12. | :00:15.
that means half of the police stations across London closing down. | :00:16. | :00:18.
With falling crime, and there has been falling crime | :00:19. | :00:20.
in all of those years, the Met Police is probably now more | :00:21. | :00:23.
efficient and effective than it has been at any time. | :00:24. | :00:26.
Plus, we get the views of the fastest growing demographic | :00:27. | :00:28.
Detectives hunt for two boys on bikes who fired | :00:29. | :00:35.
into a crowd of people, gunning down an innocent | :00:36. | :00:37.
He may be celebrating a record-breaking FA Cup win | :00:38. | :00:42.
but are Arsenal fans celebrating news that Arsene Wenger | :00:43. | :00:45.
One father's way of helping his son with revision that's | :00:46. | :01:00.
snowballed into an app for thousands of students. | :01:01. | :01:08.
Welcome to the programme with me, Riz Lateef. | :01:09. | :01:13.
London's Mayor Sadiq Khan has claimed that "up to half" | :01:14. | :01:16.
of all police stations in the capital could close | :01:17. | :01:18.
He blames the Conservatives, saying cuts of ?400 million over | :01:19. | :01:23.
the next three years will make it "extremely difficult" to keep | :01:24. | :01:25.
The Tories say they are protecting police funding and Scotland Yard | :01:26. | :01:30.
Our political editor Tim Donovan reports. | :01:31. | :01:34.
Bobbies or buildings, what if that is the choice now, | :01:35. | :01:37.
Can't we have the police stations and the bobbies? | :01:38. | :01:43.
What would happen if you had to choose? | :01:44. | :01:46.
I would rather have the bobbies on the street. | :01:47. | :01:48.
Just working out of fewer police stations maybe? | :01:49. | :01:50.
Well, it doesn't really work, does it? | :01:51. | :01:52.
People need face-to-face interaction and customer service, | :01:53. | :02:00.
I do not want to see a lot of buildings close. | :02:01. | :02:07.
If they do decide to cut buildings, we require a lot of police officers, | :02:08. | :02:18.
More than 60 front office counters have closed in recent years, | :02:19. | :02:24.
the shutters come down on stations like this one in Rotherhithe. | :02:25. | :02:28.
More than 70 are left, like West End Central here but half | :02:29. | :02:31.
now appear under threat, according to the Mayor. | :02:32. | :02:37.
We have been working closely with the Met Police service | :02:38. | :02:39.
The choice is cutting front-line police officers - | :02:40. | :02:42.
nobody wants to do that - or having to close half of | :02:43. | :02:45.
I have been witness to the devastating effects of police | :02:46. | :02:51.
cuts during your time as Home Secretary. | :02:52. | :02:53.
Theresa May was challenged last night over policing, | :02:54. | :02:55.
but the Tories have said the Mayor is just scaremongering | :02:56. | :02:57.
and that there is enough money to go around. | :02:58. | :02:59.
What actually has happened here in the Metropolitan Police | :03:00. | :03:02.
is that there has been a rethink about how best you can deploy | :03:03. | :03:05.
the policing resources you have got to make the most effective... | :03:06. | :03:08.
Get them on the front line, get the back office stuff done | :03:09. | :03:11.
by people who are not actually going on to the front line, | :03:12. | :03:14.
and what I would say to you is that I think with falling crime, | :03:15. | :03:17.
and there has been falling crime in all those years, | :03:18. | :03:19.
the Met Police is probably now more efficient and effective than it | :03:20. | :03:22.
And as well as lobbying the government for more, has | :03:23. | :03:26.
When it came to the Budget this year, the Mayor took ?30 million out | :03:27. | :03:31.
of policing that would have funded and got us up to 32,000 police | :03:32. | :03:37.
officers on our streets in London, and he also put 20 million | :03:38. | :03:40.
into reserve, so if he is serious about keeping London safe, | :03:41. | :03:43.
he should put as much money as he could into policing, | :03:44. | :03:45.
as well as then make the case to government. | :03:46. | :03:48.
Limited money, what is best for the public? | :03:49. | :03:49.
Difficult decisions to be made in the coming years. | :03:50. | :03:52.
One of the areas that's come under heavy scrutiny has been | :03:53. | :03:59.
And of course we know that older voters are a key | :04:00. | :04:03.
Here in London, the number of over 60s is expected to increase | :04:04. | :04:06.
The number of over 80s is rising even quicker - | :04:07. | :04:12.
Alex Bushill has been taking a look at what's now been | :04:13. | :04:16.
Could it hit people here in the capital the hardest? | :04:17. | :04:26.
Two families in two different cities but with the same single problem - | :04:27. | :04:29.
Nicola cares for her father Alec in Nottingham. | :04:30. | :04:32.
Margaret cares for her husband Eddie at home in Richmond. | :04:33. | :04:36.
It has been dubbed the dementia tax, the Conservative policy would mean | :04:37. | :04:47.
you would stop paying for your own care when your wealth | :04:48. | :04:50.
At present, only a little more than ?23,000 is protected. | :04:51. | :04:55.
Margaret and Eddie's house in Richmond is worth | :04:56. | :04:58.
more than ?1 million, so they could be hit with the total | :04:59. | :05:01.
We are being looked at almost as cash cows to fill a gap | :05:02. | :05:07.
but I do not think it will solve the longer-term problem at all. | :05:08. | :05:11.
The next generation will not have that money and there will be far | :05:12. | :05:14.
more older people moving into dementia in future generations. | :05:15. | :05:19.
Theresa May has said there will now be a cap on how | :05:20. | :05:26.
much is taken overall, but not exactly how | :05:27. | :05:28.
The Conservatives have said it is right that wealthier | :05:29. | :05:32.
For Nicola and her father in Nottingham, they will certainly | :05:33. | :05:38.
pay less, a maximum of just ?100,000 as his house is worth far less | :05:39. | :05:42.
Not only are you dealing with the misfortune of this | :05:43. | :05:48.
particular illness, but you are having | :05:49. | :05:50.
Others like Richard believe that as this tax is only after death, | :05:51. | :06:03.
it is right that you pay more if you are wealthy. | :06:04. | :06:06.
The proposed changes, as I understand, is that that amount | :06:07. | :06:09.
will be up to 100,000, so I assume that in her case, | :06:10. | :06:12.
she would never have had to have paid for care home fees, | :06:13. | :06:14.
which in turn would mean she would be able to do | :06:15. | :06:17.
a lot more activity-wise, go on holidays and do | :06:18. | :06:19.
So, while there is agreement that the issue of paying for social | :06:20. | :06:27.
care needs to be addressed, exactly how remains | :06:28. | :06:29.
Well, questions on social care and other key issues will be put | :06:30. | :06:44.
to politicians by Londoners at a debate tonight - | :06:45. | :06:46.
here's our political correspondent Karl Mercer. | :06:47. | :06:47.
For a debate you need a good crowd and we have more than 100 Londoners | :06:48. | :06:51.
you're ready to put some key questions to some of the top | :06:52. | :06:56.
politicians from London. What else? You need a set. This is our set. | :06:57. | :07:04.
Here is our election symbol. We have people doing last-minute | :07:05. | :07:06.
preparations and getting the show ready. This is where the audience | :07:07. | :07:10.
will beat and then you need a panel and a great set. We have both of | :07:11. | :07:17.
those. Who is on our panel? Peter Whittle, the Ukip Deputy Leader is | :07:18. | :07:21.
here. Also the Minister for London, Gavin Barwell this year for the | :07:22. | :07:27.
Conservatives. Moving along, here is the an abbot, the Shadow Home | :07:28. | :07:29.
Secretary putting the Labour Party point of view across. Next to her, I | :07:30. | :07:35.
hope he will not Mike McCollum him the oldest age, the former Business | :07:36. | :07:38.
Secretary of the Lib Dems, Vince Cable. And then a representative of | :07:39. | :07:43.
the Green Party from the London Assembly. We need the crowd and we | :07:44. | :07:50.
need the ringmaster, Jeremy Vine, the man in charge tonight. What are | :07:51. | :07:54.
they expecting? We must focus on Brexit because it is a huge issue. | :07:55. | :07:58.
We will let the 100 or so people in the room decide where the debate | :07:59. | :08:02.
goes from there but that is clearly Central. There are so many different | :08:03. | :08:06.
points of view in London. It was a city that's chose to remain, but | :08:07. | :08:15.
also a lot of Brexiteers. Yes, very much some Brexit boroughs. There are | :08:16. | :08:20.
the issues of social care and housing which is massive in London. | :08:21. | :08:25.
Some have said they will never buy a house in London. Last week, the | :08:26. | :08:29.
Manchester attacks, security and safety is bound to come up. Yes, | :08:30. | :08:33.
that is a huge political issue in the room tonight. It will be | :08:34. | :08:37.
fascinating to see how they stop clots that they suspect are already | :08:38. | :08:45.
underway. What about people who are on watch list but have not done | :08:46. | :08:47.
anything wrong, all big questions. Yes, if you want to see the | :08:48. | :08:50.
mergansers, you can see the debate after the Ten O'Clock News tonight. | :08:51. | :08:53.
Thank you Karl Mercer and Jeremy Vine. Still to come... | :08:54. | :08:59.
A royal reception as Prince Harry meets the UK athletes competing | :09:00. | :09:02.
at the Invictus Games later this year. | :09:03. | :09:04.
After a topsy-turvy bank holiday weekend, what will the rest of the | :09:05. | :09:20.
niqab in-store? Join me later. -- rest of the weather have in store? | :09:21. | :09:24.
Detectives are hunting for two boys on bikes who fired | :09:25. | :09:27.
into a crowd of people, killing an innocent | :09:28. | :09:29.
It happened in Kilburn on Friday night in a suspected | :09:30. | :09:32.
Her family are still searching for answers. | :09:33. | :09:35.
At just 20 years old, Montana had her whole life ahead of. On Friday | :09:36. | :09:41.
evening, it ended abruptly in a of bullets. There were lots of children | :09:42. | :09:45.
outside playing, about ten of them outside. There was one shot, someone | :09:46. | :09:52.
slightly hesitated, one shot and then three shots afterwards. She was | :09:53. | :09:56.
standing up when I came out over the balcony. I have seen her fall onto | :09:57. | :10:03.
the floor. Like, holding her side. She said she was shot and needed | :10:04. | :10:10.
help. She did not seem to be in pain because she must have been in so | :10:11. | :10:14.
much shock. Police that two young men on pushbikes keen to hear before | :10:15. | :10:19.
firing six shots into a crowd of people gathered on that corner. 20 | :10:20. | :10:23.
rolled Montana was one of them, she was struck once in the side and died | :10:24. | :10:28.
here within the hour. No one else was injured. She was very calm, she | :10:29. | :10:33.
was not panicking or anything. They asked her if she could see and she | :10:34. | :10:37.
said her vision was blurry. At some stage she said she could not | :10:38. | :10:41.
breathe. Because she was talking I did think that she would pull | :10:42. | :10:46.
through. She was still alive as the two attackers arrived, their faces | :10:47. | :10:52.
covered to hide their identities. They have worn face coverings and we | :10:53. | :10:55.
are determined to seek justice for Montano. Do you think she was an | :10:56. | :11:01.
incident bystander caught in the crossfire or the target? There was | :11:02. | :11:06.
no crossfire, let us be clear, there was only the suspect firing towards | :11:07. | :11:12.
Montana and her group. In terms of her background, nothing we have | :11:13. | :11:16.
found identified her as being a target for this attack. The family | :11:17. | :11:18.
of Montana has said... Police are still trying to establish | :11:19. | :11:33.
whether others in the group of Montana where the intended targets. | :11:34. | :11:35.
Dan Freeman, BBC London News. Scotland Yard has confirmed that | :11:36. | :11:40.
soldiers will be withdrawn from London's streets over | :11:41. | :11:42.
the next three days. Military support was brought in last | :11:43. | :11:44.
week following the Manchester bomb attack when the terror threat level | :11:45. | :11:47.
was raised from severe to critical. It's now been lowered again - | :11:48. | :11:50.
which means an attack is highly Londoners are still being | :11:51. | :11:52.
warned to be vigilant. British Airways says it's operating | :11:53. | :11:56.
a full schedule at Heathrow and Gatwick after an IT failure left | :11:57. | :11:58.
thousands of passengers stranded The airline says systems are back up | :11:59. | :12:01.
and running but travellers may have to wait up to a week to be reunited | :12:02. | :12:06.
with their luggage. BA is facing huge compensation | :12:07. | :12:09.
costs, with reports suggesting the bill | :12:10. | :12:16.
could top ?100 million. They may have won the FA Cup this | :12:17. | :12:22.
weekend but for months there's been speculation over | :12:23. | :12:25.
the Arsenal manager's future. Well, today it's emerged | :12:26. | :12:27.
Arsene Wenger has agreed So does that put an end to the | :12:28. | :12:29.
mounting criticism he was facing? Chris Slegg is at | :12:30. | :12:35.
the Emirates Stadium - how do you think fans will react | :12:36. | :12:37.
to this news? A mixture of feelings, we have | :12:38. | :12:51.
already heard from some fans today. 21 years Arsene Wenger has been | :12:52. | :12:55.
here, two more years he is staying, we would expect the club to confirm | :12:56. | :13:00.
that tomorrow. He still has many fans on his side, but we have seen a | :13:01. | :13:04.
level of protests gathering against him in strength and size the season. | :13:05. | :13:09.
As you mentioned, he won a record-breaking seventh FA Cup as a | :13:10. | :13:15.
manager on Saturday but it is the Premier League and the Champions | :13:16. | :13:18.
League that are the true barometer of a club's standing these days and | :13:19. | :13:21.
they appear to be a fading force in both competitions. We finished fifth | :13:22. | :13:26.
in the league this season to miss out on qualifying for the Champions | :13:27. | :13:30.
League next season. One spokesperson from the Arsenal supporters | :13:31. | :13:36.
Association has spoken of her concern about what is happening for | :13:37. | :13:41.
the club with the protests. I do not like to see that happening but I | :13:42. | :13:44.
think of the board and the manager did not take steps to read that | :13:45. | :13:48.
might realise how often it the supporters feel at the moment, that | :13:49. | :13:54.
will worsen and that will amp it as us as a football club and a around | :13:55. | :13:59.
the world. Arsenal finished 18 points behind the champions Chelsea | :14:00. | :14:04.
which shows the size of the task we have got this summer. If they start | :14:05. | :14:07.
Mexico's bully, we could expect to see those protests start up again. | :14:08. | :14:12.
It will be a really key summer in the transfer market and Arsene | :14:13. | :14:17.
Wenger has often been accused of being reluctant to make their big | :14:18. | :14:21.
name money signings. Another task for him, can he convince the star | :14:22. | :14:25.
players already here, the lights of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to | :14:26. | :14:29.
stay on? We only have one year remaining on their contracts, can | :14:30. | :14:33.
they be given is to remain without Champions League football? So, a | :14:34. | :14:36.
huge summer ahead for Arsene Wenger and we have had this debate about | :14:37. | :14:40.
whether Arsenal are better off with them or without him and for many | :14:41. | :14:46.
years now, and we have now got another two years of this debate. | :14:47. | :14:48.
Chris, from the Emirates Stadium, thank you very much. | :14:49. | :15:00.
Meanwhile, Reading missed out on reaching the Premier League after | :15:01. | :15:06.
finishing runners-up in the championship play-off. They were | :15:07. | :15:09.
defeated by Huddersfield. This is the winning penalty. | :15:10. | :15:14.
Staying with sport, and Prince Harry said they were created | :15:15. | :15:17.
The Invictus Games sees servicemen and women, | :15:18. | :15:20.
who've suffered life-changing injuries compete | :15:21. | :15:21.
Today he was at the launch of the 2017 UK team who'll be | :15:22. | :15:25.
Emma Jones reports from the Tower of London. | :15:26. | :15:28.
Smiles and jokes with Prince Harry as the United Kingdom team for this | :15:29. | :15:31.
year's Invictus Games is unveiled at the Tower of London. | :15:32. | :15:34.
It's a cause close to Harry's heart - he created the Games for injured | :15:35. | :15:38.
and sick servicemen and women, saying he wanted to demonstrate | :15:39. | :15:41.
the power of sport to inspire recovery and show there | :15:42. | :15:43.
This is just part of what he had to say at last year's Games in Orlando. | :15:44. | :15:52.
You are now ambassadors for the spirit of these Games. | :15:53. | :15:55.
Spread the word, never stop fighting and do all you can to lift up | :15:56. | :16:01.
Since the first Invictus Games were put on in London in 2014, | :16:02. | :16:06.
The UK will be taking 90 competitors to Toronto in September | :16:07. | :16:10.
When I was first in the chair, I was in a very, very bad place. | :16:11. | :16:19.
I found basketball to start with and after that I found | :16:20. | :16:23.
wheelchair racing and it has helped me immensely, concentrating | :16:24. | :16:26.
on something and keeping me on the straight and narrow. | :16:27. | :16:33.
The athletes I've spoken to today talked about the self-confidence | :16:34. | :16:35.
and self-worth they have gained from being part of this | :16:36. | :16:38.
They also talked about the real pride of being part of a team | :16:39. | :16:46.
To see so many of the guys I went to rehabilitation | :16:47. | :16:50.
with here at the top of their game, loud and confident, | :16:51. | :16:52.
that is what the Games are about, bringing people out of their shells. | :16:53. | :16:57.
Some horrendous injuries but now they can compete. | :16:58. | :17:03.
For these competitors, it is as much about taking part | :17:04. | :17:05.
as much as it is bringing home a medal from Toronto. | :17:06. | :17:08.
This is a positive time in what has been a challenging journey. | :17:09. | :17:11.
Good luck to them. It is not every year at least 20,000 bicycles are | :17:12. | :17:24.
simply a bandit in the capital. One area is making use of them by | :17:25. | :17:28.
refurbishing the bikes and giving them to asylum seekers and refugees. | :17:29. | :17:36.
This man is from Eritrea. And like thousands of others, he has left the | :17:37. | :17:41.
dictatorship there to seek asylum in London. Today he is getting a free | :17:42. | :17:47.
bike. Like all asylum seekers with ?36 to the foreign and not being | :17:48. | :17:51.
allowed to work, free transport any form two wheels makes that money | :17:52. | :17:59.
last a lot longer. We provide free means of transport that allows them | :18:00. | :18:05.
to access health care and education. Good psychological support through | :18:06. | :18:08.
the form of a bike. London transport is very expensive, the bus pass is | :18:09. | :18:12.
?21 each week. Where do the bikes come from? They are all they needed | :18:13. | :18:19.
at points around London. Some people have cracks in the bikes and they | :18:20. | :18:23.
will abandon them. Someone comes along and cuts of the locks and | :18:24. | :18:26.
takes them away and we provide that service. Selling the better | :18:27. | :18:31.
reconditioned bikes helps to fund the bike project which give away | :18:32. | :18:34.
around 1000 bikes last year to refugees. This man was one of the | :18:35. | :18:41.
receivers of the bikes. The Nerang he did not know anyone when he | :18:42. | :18:45.
arrived in London, he now volunteers in the shop. People are very | :18:46. | :18:52.
friendly, very nice. Always welcome, very good people. And it is good to | :18:53. | :18:58.
come down here and volunteer and help? You have some friends now. The | :18:59. | :19:06.
format times I argue, very kind people. People have said to me they | :19:07. | :19:11.
did not believe it to make a contribution again but being there | :19:12. | :19:14.
they are an integral part of something. But a bit of bike | :19:15. | :19:24.
training, a new helmet and the high viz jacket, this man is ready for | :19:25. | :19:27.
the road. Making London seemed just a little bit more manageable. | :19:28. | :19:33.
A father from Bromley has found a unique way to help his son | :19:34. | :19:36.
Drawing on his experience as a music producer, | :19:37. | :19:39.
he took core subjects from the school syllabus | :19:40. | :19:41.
The tunes have now been turned into an app that has been downloaded | :19:42. | :19:45.
Our education reporter Marc Ashdown has the story. | :19:46. | :19:53.
Meet George and Paris, an orderly father and son and like many | :19:54. | :19:59.
teenagers Paris was struggling to revise for his GCSEs. Music producer | :20:00. | :20:05.
George had an idea. I found some instrumentals and I wrote this | :20:06. | :20:11.
track. I played it to Paris a few days later. He said, my God, this is | :20:12. | :20:14.
set! George Kruis teachers as to what the | :20:15. | :20:31.
students needed to learn and turn that into music. This track is | :20:32. | :20:38.
English language, GCSE age. It is all about how to write for an | :20:39. | :20:42.
audience. There are 600 songs on the app for various subjects. It changes | :20:43. | :20:47.
the way that children study and it captures the ones that do not learn | :20:48. | :20:52.
and revise in the traditional sense. Trying to set down for 45 minutes | :20:53. | :20:56.
and an hour to revise was a chore for me. I have used the music as a | :20:57. | :21:03.
way to help focus me and calm down and try to study. It is difficult as | :21:04. | :21:09.
a father and a parent to look at your child, knowing how great they | :21:10. | :21:11.
can be and then not believing in themselves. For me, I will do | :21:12. | :21:18.
anything I can to empower him to believe in himself. We're not trying | :21:19. | :21:24.
to do the job of teachers, we could never do that, but while you have an | :21:25. | :21:31.
exam system that is all about remembering information, two years | :21:32. | :21:37.
of information and learned into beads across several subjects, that | :21:38. | :21:41.
is a steep hill. Since it launched in September, the track has been | :21:42. | :21:47.
downloaded 150,000 times. It is just one week students can access a bit | :21:48. | :21:51.
of help to take up the stress of exams. | :21:52. | :21:54.
Let's get a check on the weather - and Wendy's here. | :21:55. | :21:58.
No pressure! What a great idea, that would have | :21:59. | :22:06.
held my division no end. We have got a bit of evening sunshine across | :22:07. | :22:09.
London and the Home Counties at the moment. But it was the early bird | :22:10. | :22:13.
that was the best of it this morning. This is the picture just | :22:14. | :22:17.
after sunrise. This is south-east this morning, a picture from one | :22:18. | :22:21.
Bawbrugh Weather Watchers. The cloud bubbled up as it will do tomorrow. | :22:22. | :22:25.
It will be broken clouds will be will still see some sunny spells but | :22:26. | :22:30.
it might build up together some scattered showers as a cold front. | :22:31. | :22:36.
This is what we had today, you can see little swirl that the top of the | :22:37. | :22:39.
satellite picture, that is the centre of the satellite picture. It | :22:40. | :22:45.
is and reduced moisture and instability, which means that we had | :22:46. | :22:48.
one of two showers today and we are likely to see one or two tomorrow. | :22:49. | :22:52.
This evening is drier with plenty of sunshine. As we go through the night | :22:53. | :22:55.
we will have bits and pieces of patchy cloud, some clear skies and a | :22:56. | :23:00.
breeze will fall it. Relatively speaking it is another fairly | :23:01. | :23:07.
1-Eyed, temperatures eventually settling at dawn at around 14 | :23:08. | :23:09.
degrees. So, tomorrow, there will be sunny breaks and a fair amount of | :23:10. | :23:13.
cloud again. Some will build up just to give one or two showers, mostly | :23:14. | :23:18.
light, maybe the odd moderate one but in between some pleasant | :23:19. | :23:22.
sunshine and that will lift the temperature higher than today, 23 | :23:23. | :23:25.
degrees in London, and that is a common trend as we get to Thursday, | :23:26. | :23:30.
warmer still, the pressure builds and we have sunshine through the day | :23:31. | :23:33.
on Thursday and then we start to draw and warm air from the south, | :23:34. | :23:37.
you can see the direction of the wind arrows. London could get up to | :23:38. | :23:42.
25 degrees, perhaps a degree or two higher. If you need it cooler, head | :23:43. | :23:45.
towards the coast for the developing sea breeze as they go through the | :23:46. | :23:49.
day. Nice and one Thursday and then as we get through towards the end of | :23:50. | :23:53.
the week, we get this cold front. That will go through on Friday. It | :23:54. | :23:57.
will probably introduce some heavy and thundery showers, watch out for | :23:58. | :24:00.
them, they could cause some localised flooding. It should shift | :24:01. | :24:04.
out of the way for the weekend, it might do something funny and linger | :24:05. | :24:11.
into the weekend, in which case we will be talking about completely | :24:12. | :24:13.
different story and we will notify you if that is the case. If it does | :24:14. | :24:16.
with through, what will happen for the weekend is that they will get | :24:17. | :24:19.
something slightly fresher, it will attempt on Friday which will be up | :24:20. | :24:23.
at 25, 20 6 degrees but those heavy and thundery showers. But to begin, | :24:24. | :24:28.
20, 20 1 degrees, perhaps one or two showers around but some fine weather | :24:29. | :24:31.
around. Thank you, windy. -- windy. | :24:32. | :24:38.
Jeremy Corbyn has issued an apology for not knowing the cost of Labour's | :24:39. | :24:42.
In a BBC interview, he was repeatedly asked how much it | :24:43. | :24:46.
would cost to extend free childcare in England. | :24:47. | :24:48.
In a speech today, Theresa May attacked Jeremy Corbyn | :24:49. | :24:50.
over his policies and said only she was ready and prepared | :24:51. | :24:53.
Labour says Mrs May's negotiating position so far had made Britain | :24:54. | :24:56.
