There's more throughout the evening on the BBC News Channel,

:00:00.:00:12.

Good evening from BBC London News, I'm Victoria Hollins.

:00:13.:00:17.

There've now been four high profile terror related incidents in London

:00:18.:00:20.

in just five months, following last night's events

:00:21.:00:23.

The Met Police is asking people to look again at photos

:00:24.:00:27.

they've taken to check for anything suspicious.

:00:28.:00:29.

So will the incident and tightened security

:00:30.:00:31.

impact those planning to visit the capital?

:00:32.:00:32.

Buckingham Palace, as popular as ever with tourists.

:00:33.:00:43.

Despite many being aware that another terrorist incident

:00:44.:00:44.

is being investigated, thousands of Londoners and visitors

:00:45.:00:46.

flocked into central London amid heightened security.

:00:47.:00:50.

Normally I would be surprised, but I am surprised that I'm

:00:51.:00:53.

We get desensitised to these things and we just need to carry on.

:00:54.:01:01.

We were at Borough Market and it was packed.

:01:02.:01:03.

And he said, this is the kind of place you have to be alert,

:01:04.:01:06.

and I said I refuse to live with that paranoia.

:01:07.:01:09.

He said, no, but you can be alert, but you don't have to be paranoid.

:01:10.:01:13.

We can't prevent those events, so just keep on living.

:01:14.:01:16.

Everywhere you look, smartphones are out,

:01:17.:01:17.

and the police see this as a tool in their investigation

:01:18.:01:21.

into the terrorist incident at Buckingham Palace last night.

:01:22.:01:25.

Metropolitan Police officers are increasingly relying on people's

:01:26.:01:28.

phone images for evidence, particularly in areas like this

:01:29.:01:32.

where there are lots of people about taking footage

:01:33.:01:34.

In this case they are not just looking for footage

:01:35.:01:40.

of the incident itself, they would like people to go back

:01:41.:01:43.

and look at their pictures and see if there was any suspicious activity

:01:44.:01:46.

Thankfully, no one was hurt in last night's incident.

:01:47.:01:54.

Wendy Turner and her sister are on a coach trip to the palace

:01:55.:01:58.

and several people cancelled over security fears.

:01:59.:01:59.

I probably would have come through the park more and kept

:02:00.:02:06.

to more smaller paths and off the roads.

:02:07.:02:10.

But otherwise there will be more security here today.

:02:11.:02:13.

Extra police and steel barriers are being introduced in London.

:02:14.:02:16.

Officers continuing to put themselves in harm's way

:02:17.:02:19.

to protect the capital this bank holiday weekend.

:02:20.:02:21.

Kensington and Chelsea Council has spent more than ?6 million

:02:22.:02:29.

so far on those people affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.

:02:30.:02:34.

Figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act show the money

:02:35.:02:37.

has been spent on emergency accommodation, counselling

:02:38.:02:39.

It's getting increasingly hard for graduates to get entry level jobs.

:02:40.:02:46.

So two young women from London have come up with an innovative plan

:02:47.:02:49.

The first stage involved a social media campaign that saw them put up

:02:50.:02:56.

posters around London with pictures of Sir Richard Branson's head

:02:57.:02:59.

Holly and Miriam will go to any heights to make themselves stand out

:03:00.:03:09.

They launched a PR stunt to boost their CVs and this is the result.

:03:10.:03:17.

So we got the Chuckle Brothers to set us a challenge to prove

:03:18.:03:21.

ourselves amongst the greats of double acts.

:03:22.:03:25.

And they told us to fly a hot-air balloon.

:03:26.:03:28.

We thought, crikey, we don't have one.

:03:29.:03:33.

So we drew Richard Branson's face on one of these

:03:34.:03:36.

The pictures appeared all over London with an open letter

:03:37.:03:41.

to Sir Richard Branson asking for his help.

:03:42.:03:43.

We are nearly 2000 feet in the air, watching people commute

:03:44.:03:52.

And this all goes to show how a small idea can become a reality

:03:53.:03:57.

On average, only 45% of interns like Holly and Miriam are offered

:03:58.:04:04.

It means there is real pressure on graduates to make their mark.

:04:05.:04:09.

They are definitely getting jobs, but it's harder.

:04:10.:04:13.

The lengths you have to go to to get an entry-level job now is much

:04:14.:04:16.

harder than it was two years or five years or ten years ago.

:04:17.:04:20.

Sometimes feels like you are on the X factor.

:04:21.:04:24.

It's definitely important to do something different

:04:25.:04:25.

Yeah, and also again it goes to show that only

:04:26.:04:29.

you make stuff happen, so if you want it, do everything

:04:30.:04:32.

The girls have now been challenged to enter a tennis

:04:33.:04:37.

They have set their sights on the US Open.

:04:38.:04:41.

Tomorrow will be another fine, dry day with spells of warm sunshine.

:04:42.:04:51.

Light winds and a top temperature 25 Celsius.

:04:52.:04:56.

That's it. We'll be back tomorrow evening.

:04:57.:04:57.

From all of us here, have a lovely bank holiday weekend.

:04:58.:05:00.

So far this August has been fairly unsettled for many, but at least

:05:01.:05:20.

some sunshine around for the final weekend of the month. Certainly the

:05:21.:05:24.

case in Merseyside earlier this afternoon. However we had a number

:05:25.:05:28.

of showers particularly across Scotland and a slightly different

:05:29.:05:31.

picture here. Already the showers are losing their energy. Whilst we

:05:32.:05:36.

can't rule out showers overnight, most places becoming dry with

:05:37.:05:40.

increasingly clear skies and with light winds that could lead to a

:05:41.:05:41.
