Hello and welcome to Look East, in the programme tonight: | :00:15. | :00:16.
Made in Stevenage, the Ministry of Defence announces half a billion | :00:17. | :00:19.
It is a significant moment to reinforce and keep those people | :00:20. | :00:23.
A de-selection battle looms in Northampton as some local | :00:24. | :00:26.
conservative members seek to replace David McIntosh. | :00:27. | :00:27.
26 miles with Parkinson's disease, the Luton runner heading | :00:28. | :00:30.
And find out which one of our football managers has decided | :00:31. | :00:34.
to take the plunge and jump out from a plane at 13,000 feet. | :00:35. | :00:50.
First tonight, the Defence Secretary Michael Fallon was in Stevenage | :00:51. | :00:52.
today announcing half a billion pounds of spending on new missile | :00:53. | :00:55.
systems, which are designed and built in the town. | :00:56. | :00:58.
The plan will secure 130 jobs at MBDA in Hertfordshire | :00:59. | :01:06.
and Henlow, in Bedfordshire, as well as safeguarding hundreds | :01:07. | :01:09.
The announcement comes just three days after the general election | :01:10. | :01:12.
was called and Stevenage is high on the list of Labour target seats. | :01:13. | :01:15.
It's been a week of big political announcements and speeches. | :01:16. | :01:23.
Today, the turn of the Defence Secretary here in Stevenage. | :01:24. | :01:25.
A ?539 million investment in new missile systems. | :01:26. | :01:33.
You are playing your part in helping the Royal Navy | :01:34. | :01:37.
The first, the state-of-the-art Meteor missile, seen here, | :01:38. | :01:48.
which will be used by both the Royal Air Force and the Navy. | :01:49. | :01:51.
The common anti-air module missile, or CAMM - | :01:52. | :01:53.
And ?175 million Sea Viper weapons systems. | :01:54. | :02:03.
It's aimed to protect Royal Navy destroyers. | :02:04. | :02:07.
Three days after a general election was called, | :02:08. | :02:09.
I've been told today's briefing brought forward several weeks. | :02:10. | :02:11.
Well this is half a billion pounds' worth, ?537 million worth | :02:12. | :02:16.
of investment in new missile systems to help keep the Royal Navy safe. | :02:17. | :02:22.
This is investment in the Royal Navy, to keep the Navy | :02:23. | :02:29.
safe as they keep us here at home safe. | :02:30. | :02:31.
This is the Meteor, an air-to-air beyond visual range missile | :02:32. | :02:33.
which will be fitted to F-35 stealth fighters like this one. | :02:34. | :02:36.
MBDA say this deal will save more than 130 jobs, many of them | :02:37. | :02:41.
Today, here in Stevenage, we have around 2,000 people out | :02:42. | :02:46.
of 3,600 working at MBDA in the UK, so it is a significant moment | :02:47. | :02:54.
to reinforce and keep those people employed for the future. | :02:55. | :02:59.
The first of the new missiles will be in service as soon as next year. | :03:00. | :03:03.
The Meteor eventually being used on F-35s based | :03:04. | :03:06.
Britain's defence budget is the fifth-largest in the world. | :03:07. | :03:12.
Contracts like these helping to secure this | :03:13. | :03:14.
Our political correspondent Andrew Sinclair joins me now. So how far | :03:15. | :03:30.
was today's announcement in Stevenage connected with the general | :03:31. | :03:35.
election? Well, MBDA won this contract on merit and it had to be | :03:36. | :03:38.
announced some time but I think the fact that the firm is in Stevenage, | :03:39. | :03:42.
one of those M1 marginal seats I was talking about last night, it | :03:43. | :03:46.
suddenly seemed a very good idea to make the announcement now and send | :03:47. | :03:49.
along the Defence Secretary to make it for good measure. It has not been | :03:50. | :03:52.
the only government announcement today. Back in the budget, the | :03:53. | :03:55.
Government announced extra money to help our hospitals get through next | :03:56. | :04:00.
winter and the various pressures it would phase in A Even the winter | :04:01. | :04:04.
is some way off, at least the season, the Government decided to | :04:05. | :04:10.
allocate that money today, more than ?3 million is coming to this part of | :04:11. | :04:13.
the region and most of that money is going to Northampton General, Milton | :04:14. | :04:18.
Keynes and Bedford hospitals, all of which happen to be in that | :04:19. | :04:19.
electorally important M1 corridor. The seven candidates aiming | :04:20. | :04:23.
to become Cambridgeshire's first ever, directly-elected mayor took | :04:24. | :04:25.
part in a special TV Whoever's elected will control | :04:26. | :04:27.
a multi-million pound budget with powers over housing, | :04:28. | :04:31.
apprenticeships, and transport. The county is one of six areas to be | :04:32. | :04:34.
given freedom over local decision-making under | :04:35. | :04:37.
the Government's devolution deal. Our political reporter | :04:38. | :04:40.
Mousumi Bakshi was watching. Seven candidates and just one hour | :04:41. | :04:47.
to convince the studio audience and the audience at home to put them | :04:48. | :04:50.
in as mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, and the question | :04:51. | :04:54.
on everyone's lips... Why should I be bothered | :04:55. | :05:00.
to vote for a mayor? In the Green party, we are against | :05:01. | :05:03.
the establishment of this mayor. What a chronic waste | :05:04. | :05:06.
of public money. What is the obsession with having | :05:07. | :05:09.
an election every time there is something the Tories | :05:10. | :05:11.
can't cope with? It was a point echoed | :05:12. | :05:13.
by the Ukip candidate, so was he trying to sabotage | :05:14. | :05:16.
the system by standing? No, I'm not, I'm here | :05:17. | :05:18.
to change the system and the priority I will have, | :05:19. | :05:20.
if I'm elected mayor, will be to get rid of at least one, if not two, | :05:21. | :05:23.
tiers of local government. By far and away the biggest talking | :05:24. | :05:27.
point of the night was the scarcity James Palmer's solution, | :05:28. | :05:31.
to create land trusts run by the local community to develop | :05:32. | :05:37.
and build local homes. And we use the uplift | :05:38. | :05:41.
in the value of the land to provide new housing, | :05:42. | :05:44.
affordable housing, to people 70% of the market rate in Cambridge, | :05:45. | :05:46.
that is not affordable, is it? 70% of the market rate | :05:47. | :05:51.
in this particular scheme, where land is worth more, | :05:52. | :05:53.
the market rate will come down, The Liberal Democrats answer, | :05:54. | :05:57.
build more low-cost homes. I'm keen to support a 50% ratio | :05:58. | :06:04.
on affordable housing I'm keen to support a 50% ratio | :06:05. | :06:07.
of affordable housing on key sites and also, | :06:08. | :06:10.
I'm keen to explore something called local living rent | :06:11. | :06:12.
and that is something where, instead of charging the market | :06:13. | :06:14.
rent minus a discount, you actually charge a third | :06:15. | :06:16.
of someone's income. And spreading fairness | :06:17. | :06:18.
across the county was also One of the things I would want to be | :06:19. | :06:20.
look at doing is a fairness commission, to ensure that everybody | :06:21. | :06:26.
gets a really, really Whoever's elected will have | :06:27. | :06:32.
?20 million a year to spend on transport, but will it be | :06:33. | :06:35.
on the road or rail? You probably know several issues | :06:36. | :06:42.
yourself, whether they are car pinch I don't want lots more trains | :06:43. | :06:45.
whizzing through Whittlesea to Cambridge, I want more trains | :06:46. | :06:48.
stopping other where people to Cambridge, I want more trains | :06:49. | :06:53.
stopping where people want to get on because we can | :06:54. | :06:55.
relieve congestion that way. What Wisbech needs is business | :06:56. | :06:57.
and business means good transport and there is no plans of opening | :06:58. | :07:00.
that line for goods, so I think if we are going to spend | :07:01. | :07:02.
money on Wisbech, it should be Two weeks from now, we will know | :07:03. | :07:06.
who the new mayor is and find out just how ready they are for life | :07:07. | :07:12.
in the spotlight. 300 children marched | :07:13. | :07:20.
to the council offices in Milton Keynes today to demand | :07:21. | :07:22.
improvements to the town's redways. They say the network | :07:23. | :07:26.
of footpaths are neglected, This year, the town celebrated | :07:27. | :07:30.
its 50th birthday and the children are calling for 50 improvements | :07:31. | :07:35.
to be made. The redways are as much a feature | :07:36. | :07:39.
of MK as its roundabouts, but there are concerns that this | :07:40. | :07:47.
network of paths is in need of some TLC, so today, | :07:48. | :07:51.
these children set off along the redways to the council, | :07:52. | :07:54.
to deliver a very clear message. We can actually change the redways | :07:55. | :08:02.
so it will be safer, we will be able to go in there, | :08:03. | :08:05.
and so people who are our age, like, seven and stuff, | :08:06. | :08:08.
they will be safe to go I don't like the redways | :08:09. | :08:10.
at the minute, there is too much litter, dog fouling, | :08:11. | :08:15.
and there's lots of graffiti I don't find them safe | :08:16. | :08:17.
because there is also As part of this project, | :08:18. | :08:25.
all of the schools carried out a survey which found that 80% | :08:26. | :08:31.
of their students actually used these redways, but it also found | :08:32. | :08:35.
that 40% of them didn't feel En route, the children also took | :08:36. | :08:38.
the opportunity to give ..before then meeting up | :08:39. | :08:43.
with other schools to press The pupils at St Paul's value | :08:44. | :08:46.
the freedom and possibilities the redways provide | :08:47. | :08:54.
in getting to school. Here is a bag of rubbish | :08:55. | :08:56.
we collected walking And after these presentations, | :08:57. | :08:58.
the verdict from the council - There are not asking for anything | :08:59. | :09:01.
major, they are asking for a realistic set of 50 | :09:02. | :09:05.
improvements we can make and that is things like filling | :09:06. | :09:08.
in small potholes and changing light bulbs and cutting back shrubs | :09:09. | :09:11.
and I think we can make So you're guaranteeing that that | :09:12. | :09:13.
work will take place? I've already spoken to our officers, | :09:14. | :09:17.
I have ensured the budget is put aside and I can guarantee that work | :09:18. | :09:22.
will take place. The children say they will hold | :09:23. | :09:25.
the council to that promise and say they will also continue | :09:26. | :09:28.
to do their bit to keep The controversial Conservative MP | :09:29. | :09:30.
for Northampton South is facing a de-selection battle | :09:31. | :09:39.
within his own party Even before the general election, | :09:40. | :09:42.
local members have been seeking to remove him, | :09:43. | :09:48.
over his part in a Borough Council loan to the town's football club, | :09:49. | :09:51.
which saw millions of pounds of public money | :09:52. | :09:54.
apparently disappear. Mr Mackintosh has always | :09:55. | :09:58.
denied any wrongdoing. The local party in that building | :09:59. | :10:10.
will decide if David Mackintosh is reselected, normally straightforward | :10:11. | :10:13.
but not this time. There are 20 members on the executive, we have | :10:14. | :10:17.
spoken to 16 and 11 told us they wouldn't vote for him, four wouldn't | :10:18. | :10:22.
say and one is undecided. The future of him being MP here is far from | :10:23. | :10:23.
certain. I have helped over 20,000 cases | :10:24. | :10:24.
and seen many hundreds Outside Parliament, | :10:25. | :10:26.
posted on the internet, David Mackintosh proudly sets out | :10:27. | :10:29.
what he's achieved. And in the Commons on Wednesday, | :10:30. | :10:33.
wanting new roads in the region, wanting the Prime Minister's support | :10:34. | :10:40.
beyond the election. And will the next Conservative | :10:41. | :10:45.
government continue to support me The Northampton MP fighting | :10:46. | :10:48.
for his political future. Members of his local party | :10:49. | :10:55.
telling us, campaigning in the council elections, | :10:56. | :10:57.
voters are critical of him. His name mentioned on the doorstep | :10:58. | :11:02.
following his role in the ?10.25 million loan | :11:03. | :11:05.
to Northampton Town Football Club when he was leader of the Borough | :11:06. | :11:11.
Council. Funds to develop the stadium, | :11:12. | :11:13.
but work went unfinished and much What happened here | :11:14. | :11:16.
being investigated by Their inquiry looking | :11:17. | :11:20.
at Mr Mackintosh's involvement. The MP in the past telling the BBC | :11:21. | :11:26.
that he welcomed the investigation In Northampton today, | :11:27. | :11:31.
David Mackintosh not seen with senior Conservatives | :11:32. | :11:37.
on the campaign trail. The Government fully aware | :11:38. | :11:41.
of the political row bubbling here. It is always for the local party | :11:42. | :11:46.
to decide who their candidate should be, so that's not something I should | :11:47. | :11:49.
get involved in, it would be Mr Mackintosh, did you know | :11:50. | :11:52.
about the source of the donations? David Mackintosh has repeatedly | :11:53. | :11:56.
refused to answer our questions about the Sixfields loan, | :11:57. | :12:00.
but in this shortest of statements, he told us simply, "I intend | :12:01. | :12:04.
to stand for re-election." The process will begin on the 2nd of | :12:05. | :12:19.
May. First, the executive will vote and then the 160 members. If they | :12:20. | :12:24.
choose David Mackintosh, he is the candidate. If not, the Conservative | :12:25. | :12:29.
Central office will offer of three candidates. If David Mackintosh | :12:30. | :12:33.
chooses to be one of them, he can, but then the local party will | :12:34. | :12:36.
decide. There is much speculation here that people here want someone | :12:37. | :12:41.
local. One prominent Northampton name has been mentioned, but we | :12:42. | :12:44.
won't know for certain for a few days. | :12:45. | :12:48.
A production by Northampton's Royal and Derngate is to open | :12:49. | :12:50.
in Cambridge next month, despite the recent death | :12:51. | :12:52.
Tim Pigott-Smith was due to star in Arthur Miller's play | :12:53. | :12:56.
Death of a Salesman, but died earlier this month. | :12:57. | :12:59.
The play will come to the Cambridge Arts Theatre | :13:00. | :13:01.
on 4th May at the start of its national tour. | :13:02. | :13:03.
It will return to the Royal and Derngate, in Northampton in June. | :13:04. | :13:06.
Later, Julie has the weather for the weekend and some chilly | :13:07. | :13:12.
You are watching prog-mac. Stay with us for Julie's weekend weather | :13:13. | :13:24.
forecast. We live at Carrow Road. And the food hall manager on top of | :13:25. | :13:30.
the world as he takes a leap for charity -- the football manager. | :13:31. | :13:33.
All this week, we've been meeting some of the special | :13:34. | :13:35.
people who are taking part in Sunday's London Marathon. | :13:36. | :13:37.
Tonight, it's the turn of Ryan Cameron, a PE | :13:38. | :13:39.
Ryan has been diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's disease. | :13:40. | :13:44.
He says he will carry on teaching for as long as he can, | :13:45. | :13:51.
and is determined to complete the Marathon | :13:52. | :13:52.
This special needs school in Luton is full of children with remarkable | :13:53. | :14:09.
Appropriately, their PE teacher, Ryan Cameron, has one of his own. | :14:10. | :14:15.
Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease three years ago at just 31, | :14:16. | :14:17.
his decision to run the London Marathon this weekend | :14:18. | :14:20.
I like to think I am an active person, a positive | :14:21. | :14:25.
So even with something with this I just want to get on with life. | :14:26. | :14:31.
People have been asking me if I'm nervous and I... | :14:32. | :14:39.
I have been thinking about this, obviously, for a while and I have | :14:40. | :14:45.
pitched myself to get over the finish line, whether that is | :14:46. | :14:48.
crawling or walking, but because I have done the mental | :14:49. | :14:50.
side of things and psychologically I know I am going to do it. | :14:51. | :14:56.
Last year Ryan was too ill to make the start line. | :14:57. | :15:00.
His grit and positivity has earned him the admiration | :15:01. | :15:02.
Last year he had to pull out because of his health, | :15:03. | :15:08.
and this year there has been ups and downs and his health has not | :15:09. | :15:13.
been great some days, but he has come back every week, | :15:14. | :15:16.
every day, with determination and I believe he can do it. | :15:17. | :15:18.
And for these young people it is incredibly inspiring. | :15:19. | :15:21.
I think people will see disability as a limitation | :15:22. | :15:24.
and we do not believe that here, we think our children | :15:25. | :15:27.
can achieve anything, what the right support and the right | :15:28. | :15:29.
motivation and I think Ryan is a very good example of that. | :15:30. | :15:38.
And he is already looking to his future sporting ambitions. | :15:39. | :15:41.
I am hanging up my running shoes after the marathon and I am | :15:42. | :15:44.
going to move on to cycling, purely because it is easier | :15:45. | :15:47.
for someone with Parkinson's to cycle that it is more | :15:48. | :15:49.
advantageous than running because it does not affect your joints as much. | :15:50. | :15:55.
But for now he is giving up for this weekend. | :15:56. | :16:02.
For 26 miles, inspiring and raising awareness every step of the way. | :16:03. | :16:09.
If you are taking part on Sunday - good luck. | :16:10. | :16:12.
And if you want to share your pictures of the big day you can | :16:13. | :16:15.
Tonight's big match in the Championship sees | :16:16. | :16:21.
Norwich City hosting league leaders Brighton. | :16:22. | :16:23.
A win for Brighton will confirm them as Champions. | :16:24. | :16:25.
So it could be a very happy return to Carrow Road | :16:26. | :16:27.
for the Brighton manager Chris Hughton. | :16:28. | :16:30.
In fact, it's the first time he's been there | :16:31. | :16:33.
He probably would not admit it but would be a sweet moment for Chris | :16:34. | :16:52.
Hughton if Brighton can win tonight. Sacked three years ago from here | :16:53. | :16:57.
somewhat controversially, certainly the timing was at Brighton this | :16:58. | :17:01.
season have beaten all, as an one more win this season would send them | :17:02. | :17:02.
up as champion. A popular man, passionate, too, | :17:03. | :17:05.
Chris Hughton managed Norwich for nearly two years, | :17:06. | :17:08.
11th in the Premier League in his first season, | :17:09. | :17:10.
sacked in April 2014 Since then he has moved to Brighton, | :17:11. | :17:14.
rebuilding his reputation Victory tonight would seal | :17:15. | :17:19.
the title in his first game Looking forward to it because, | :17:20. | :17:24.
irrespective of anything you... work with a lot of people there, | :17:25. | :17:28.
you have a lot of friends and you always look forward | :17:29. | :17:31.
to going back to seeing them, and of course it is certainly nice | :17:32. | :17:33.
to go back there perhaps And here is the irony - | :17:34. | :17:36.
when Hughton left three years ago Five games to play, many | :17:37. | :17:46.
thought his dismissal was harsh. Others felt they | :17:47. | :17:55.
delayed for too long. I do not think we have got much | :17:56. | :17:59.
choice because four points from six games is relegation form | :18:00. | :18:08.
and so we needed to do To do it with five games to go, | :18:09. | :18:11.
I can't quite understand it but hopefully it will give Neil | :18:12. | :18:20.
a good chance to save the club. Youth coach Neil Adams took charge, | :18:21. | :18:23.
he didn't save them, But Chris Hughton, | :18:24. | :18:26.
a respected figure, will be I am a little bit biased | :18:27. | :18:29.
because I like Chris anyway and have known him for a long time | :18:30. | :18:33.
and I think he is I think he has done | :18:34. | :18:36.
a great job and he does it The motivation for them | :18:37. | :18:43.
will the their season has not turned They are all playing | :18:44. | :18:48.
for that bit of pride with a new manager coming in, | :18:49. | :18:52.
making a point, playing up against a very good team | :18:53. | :18:54.
in ourselves and wanting to win. From Brighton, the | :18:55. | :18:59.
Championship is at stake. Norwich fans would not | :19:00. | :19:01.
want to deny him but delay him, Widely regarded of one of the true | :19:02. | :19:16.
gentleman and football, as this month, the follow-on, -- from | :19:17. | :19:23.
Norwich defender. No one would begrudge him his success? Definitely | :19:24. | :19:27.
not. He has proved over the past few years he is a good manager and has | :19:28. | :19:32.
gone down to Brighton and done a magnificent job, fully deserved and | :19:33. | :19:36.
I'm sure they will get promoted as champions but hopefully not tonight. | :19:37. | :19:42.
Not very Norwich fans were enthralled with his conservative | :19:43. | :19:45.
approach when he was here but at Brighton he has been a very | :19:46. | :19:51.
entertaining. I used to store has virtues and felt the supporters and | :19:52. | :19:57.
the board got it wrong. -- extol his virtues. People said he was | :19:58. | :20:00.
pragmatic in his approach but he played with two wingers all the time | :20:01. | :20:06.
which I consider pragmatic -- attacking. But he has done the same | :20:07. | :20:10.
down at Brighton and has scored goals, which she was doing here. I | :20:11. | :20:15.
think the board should go -- showed a lack of foresight and got rid of | :20:16. | :20:20.
them to quickly and gave into the supporters, as it were. I think if | :20:21. | :20:26.
they held on longer he would have brought the same success to Norwich. | :20:27. | :20:34.
It was 5-0 in the reverse fixture, the public about that. They are full | :20:35. | :20:38.
of confidence at the moment what is knowledge are very inconsistent at | :20:39. | :20:42.
the moment which has been their season, very in and out and nothing | :20:43. | :20:50.
sustainable. Thank you. You can follow tonight's match on your local | :20:51. | :20:52.
radio station. If you watch professional football | :20:53. | :20:55.
you will have seen different managers chewing aggressively, | :20:56. | :20:58.
screaming instructions, It's all bout pressure, | :20:59. | :20:59.
and it means they can But how about jumping out | :21:00. | :21:02.
of a plane at 13,000 feet? Luton Town's Nathan Jones has done | :21:03. | :21:06.
just that, taking part in a skydive It took place at the Hinton airfield | :21:07. | :21:09.
in Northamptonshire. Our Sports Editor | :21:10. | :21:13.
Jonathan Park was there. On the sidelines, Nathan | :21:14. | :21:17.
Jones usually control. But it is a different story | :21:18. | :21:18.
when there is a parachute involved. I think the apprehension | :21:19. | :21:21.
is getting up there, But as long as you get down | :21:22. | :21:23.
safely I don't mind. There is a first | :21:24. | :21:29.
time for everything. And for Luton's manager at least | :21:30. | :21:31.
he had another rookie by his side - It came from a drunken bid | :21:32. | :21:37.
at the Luton Town Christmas dinner. I put my hands air the and bid | :21:38. | :21:48.
for a skydive with Nathan Jones. With an Luton flying high, | :21:49. | :21:56.
this was a nice diversion, at 13,000 feet, from the pressures | :21:57. | :21:59.
of the promotion run in. My life is in this | :22:00. | :22:01.
geezer's hands here. Conditions at the airfield | :22:02. | :22:11.
in Northamptonshire were perfect. Time now for Nathan | :22:12. | :22:13.
and Mark to head skywards. That is absolutely mental, | :22:14. | :22:15.
jumping out of a plane. Nothing prepares you for | :22:16. | :22:41.
when you just exit the plane. Now I understand why people say, | :22:42. | :22:43.
that people have done it. I'm very proud of him and I am | :22:44. | :22:48.
pleased he is back down safely. So one ticked off the bucket list | :22:49. | :22:59.
and thousands raised for the club's charity Level Trust, | :23:00. | :23:02.
which helps young people living To have someone as high-profile | :23:03. | :23:06.
as Nathan Jones jumping out of an aeroplane for us this | :23:07. | :23:11.
afternoon really is the icing on the cake of that partnership | :23:12. | :23:14.
and all the club has done for us. Well, job done, now going up, | :23:15. | :23:17.
not down, is all that matters to all of them although I have to | :23:18. | :23:34.
say the landing was not as good as euros! -- not as good as yours. It | :23:35. | :23:49.
was lovely weather but I have a feeling, will stay that way? I have | :23:50. | :23:55.
a lot to talk about. Let's start with this morning, a beautiful | :23:56. | :24:01.
sunrise. For most of us we had guys like this from most of the day and | :24:02. | :24:05.
you can see why the satellite picture -- skies like this. That | :24:06. | :24:12.
will change overnight with a cold front moving down bringing outbreaks | :24:13. | :24:19.
of mainly light and patchy rain. Not for everyone and not amounting to | :24:20. | :24:24.
match. Because that is a lot of cloud the frost for the night with | :24:25. | :24:29.
light of a Babel winds. This is called from bringing the overnight | :24:30. | :24:34.
rain quickly clears to the south. That leaves us with cloudy skies, a | :24:35. | :24:40.
a showers from the north-west at a block of dry weather -- a few | :24:41. | :24:52.
showers. Although on the North Norfolk coast. We finish with a few | :24:53. | :24:58.
showers but a block of dry weather. That is Saturday, Sunday with | :24:59. | :25:04.
high-pressure buildings are many of us it is another dry day, perhaps an | :25:05. | :25:11.
isolated shower but a lot of fine and dry weather and hopefully some | :25:12. | :25:16.
sunshine. Highs of 14 Celsius. A chilly start on Sunday, possibly | :25:17. | :25:22.
frost for some of us. That goes from London also for the London Marathon. | :25:23. | :25:26.
But conditions are looking rather good for that light winds and a | :25:27. | :25:32.
fairly dry conditions. If the cloud breaks we might see more in the way | :25:33. | :25:37.
of sunshine. All in all not too bad at all is good luck to everyone | :25:38. | :25:42.
taking part. That is the weekend. Some showers on Saturday but largely | :25:43. | :25:48.
dry and most of us Sunday will be another dry day. Monday is a cloudy | :25:49. | :25:53.
start with some spots of rain, that should clear and sunny spells | :25:54. | :25:57.
develop and as the sun comes out that could trigger one or two | :25:58. | :26:01.
showers. Monday night will be bitterly cold. Temperatures could | :26:02. | :26:08.
get down below freezing and Tuesday is a very different day. Feeling | :26:09. | :26:15.
better be cold, winter showers of rain, sleet and possibly even snow | :26:16. | :26:21.
which is not that unusual for April, actually, but quite a shock me think | :26:22. | :26:27.
about balmy conditions we had the last few weeks. Goodbye. | :26:28. | :26:52.
Why didn't we go to the library today? | :26:53. | :26:59.
Because we don't have a library any more. Why? | :27:00. | :27:02.
The school's had to make big cuts. Cuts like with a knife, miss? | :27:03. | :27:08.
No, it means that the school can't afford to pay for things like | :27:09. | :27:12.
the library any more or shows or books or school visits. | :27:13. | :27:17.
CHILDREN: Awww! No more school visits? | :27:18. | :27:23. |
