The plot was hatched between Rebecca Ryan and Scott Swift. | :01:04. | :01:10.
He was said to be jealous of her former boyfriend. | :01:11. | :01:12.
A jury at Chelmsford Crown Court was told she agreed to invite | :01:13. | :01:16.
Michael Beckwith, who was a care worker, to a remote spot in Harwich. | :01:17. | :01:21.
Let's get the full story now from our Essex | :01:22. | :01:25.
Michael Beckwith was described as likeable and popular. Last July he | :01:26. | :01:38.
was lured to a secluded area in Harwich were two masked men beat him | :01:39. | :01:43.
with metal poles. The judge described it as a vicious and cut | :01:44. | :01:47.
with the attack in which she stood no chance as the life was battered | :01:48. | :01:56.
out of him. Rebecca Ryan had been engaged to him and was jealous | :01:57. | :02:02.
because she thought he had been texting an ex-girlfriend. She Luton | :02:03. | :02:07.
to the sport he was killed and later called 999 claiming she was an | :02:08. | :02:14.
innocent bystander. There were two men, they were all covered up and I | :02:15. | :02:22.
could not see. But the Judy believes she masterminded the whole thing. | :02:23. | :02:30.
She returned to the scene and spent time almost pretending to tend to | :02:31. | :02:34.
Michael and making comments such as look what you have done that I could | :02:35. | :02:38.
quickly have done to you. To then come back to be scene and pretend | :02:39. | :02:43.
you were concerned for his welfare. Joel Smith, a teenager, was the | :02:44. | :02:49.
second attacker who tagged along with Scott Swift. Michael Beckwith | :02:50. | :02:57.
left with her mother -- left with his mother who died shortly before | :02:58. | :03:02.
the trial began. Michael's murder has taken everything away from us. A | :03:03. | :03:07.
mother who could not take the strain of the trial passed away from a | :03:08. | :03:11.
heart attack just before it started. An uncle from a nephew who never got | :03:12. | :03:17.
to see grow into young man, because we could all share a laugh with a | :03:18. | :03:21.
new we could turn to if we needed help. Both were jailed for life, | :03:22. | :03:29.
Scott Swift a minimum of 24 years, Rebecca Ryan 17. The other attacker | :03:30. | :03:37.
got seven years. Two other people got two and a half years for | :03:38. | :03:39.
perverting the course of justice. an abandoned building project | :03:40. | :03:42.
on the waterfront in Ipswich. Regatta Quay has become a symbol | :03:43. | :03:46.
of the economic crash in 2008. For the best part of a decade | :03:47. | :04:05.
Winerack is that looking forlorn and forgotten. Now the last things are | :04:06. | :04:13.
on the game with ?20 million of funding with two loans with interest | :04:14. | :04:18.
which will be repaid as and when required. 15 million from a | :04:19. | :04:23.
Government fund and the rest from the new Anglia local enterprise | :04:24. | :04:26.
partnership which also uses Government funding. This is public | :04:27. | :04:32.
money and we take it very seriously and the interest we will get on the | :04:33. | :04:36.
loan repayments we can put into other projects. A lot of people will | :04:37. | :04:41.
benefit and not just those living here. Two years ago there were | :04:42. | :04:45.
hopeful signs with local developer John Howard to take on this part -- | :04:46. | :04:50.
partly built site would to complete the scheme and put the work out to | :04:51. | :04:57.
tender. It has been frustrating how long it has taken to get started but | :04:58. | :05:01.
now we're getting the tender of things. Happening quite quickly. He | :05:02. | :05:08.
admitted construction costs have risen and bankers unwilling to | :05:09. | :05:11.
commit to this funding is not just pleasing but pivotal. On the scheme | :05:12. | :05:18.
like this what the Government have done is very positive and forward | :05:19. | :05:26.
and without them and the money we ourselves are putting in it would | :05:27. | :05:33.
not happen. This project is was promised so much, almost 150 new | :05:34. | :05:40.
homes,, shall space and 50 new jobs. Hopefully, finally, if all the | :05:41. | :05:44.
developer's ducks end up in a road trip be transformed from total | :05:45. | :05:51.
eyesore to totally eye-catching. -- if the ducks lined up for the | :05:52. | :05:57.
developer. From stagnation too slick and stylish. Fingers crossed. | :05:58. | :06:00.
and the Green Party have been campaigning in Norfolk today ahead | :06:01. | :06:04.
The party sees Norwich as one of its strongholds, | :06:05. | :06:07.
with 10 councillors on the city council. | :06:08. | :06:09.
On the county council, though, it only has three. | :06:10. | :06:11.
Today, the party's candidates for the general election | :06:12. | :06:13.
Norwich South is expected to be a target seat once again. | :06:14. | :06:16.
In 2015 the party came third in the consituency, | :06:17. | :06:18.
The launch of the Green Party manifesto was on one | :06:19. | :06:31.
It was a photocall, really, so rosettes, posters and smile, | :06:32. | :06:37.
The Greens are putting up 34 candidates for the county council | :06:38. | :06:42.
People know what they get when the Greens are elected here. | :06:43. | :06:46.
We have people who stand against cuts, who make sure | :06:47. | :06:48.
we are reducing air pollution and people who are building things | :06:49. | :06:51.
like making sure there is no privatisation in our NHS and looking | :06:52. | :06:54.
The Green Party is also fielding candidates in four constituencies | :06:55. | :06:57.
They are against a hard Brexit, for the NHS and, | :06:58. | :07:08.
on the environment, plan to campaign for better air quality. | :07:09. | :07:13.
At Castle Meadow in Norwich EU air quality limits | :07:14. | :07:15.
have been broken for six years, they say. | :07:16. | :07:20.
The solution is more restrictions on diesel vehicles, | :07:21. | :07:22.
it is zero carbon transport, it is also to get more | :07:23. | :07:24.
Healthy walking and cycling and active travel makes a huge | :07:25. | :07:32.
difference to your personal well-being. | :07:33. | :07:34.
We take air quality very seriously in Norwich | :07:35. | :07:36.
We have already made many achievements and improvement over | :07:37. | :07:39.
the past few years and continue to do that. | :07:40. | :07:41.
We work with the bus companies across all Norfolk to improve | :07:42. | :07:44.
the emissions on their buses, when they are replaced | :07:45. | :07:46.
Having launched their manifesto, the Greens candidates launch | :07:47. | :07:56.
The Greens are keen to woo younger people - | :07:57. | :08:04.
votes at 16, affordable housing, and education are all things | :08:05. | :08:06.
When you have all the parties, in effect, accepting the tuition | :08:07. | :08:13.
Education is a right, not a privilege. | :08:14. | :08:20.
It should be free whether you arefour years old, | :08:21. | :08:22.
14 years old or 40 years old, whether you are a student | :08:23. | :08:26.
If Brexit is the big issue of the general election the Greens | :08:27. | :08:33.
will have to shout loudly to make themselves heard. | :08:34. | :08:39.
But they are out there are now pounding the streets | :08:40. | :08:41.
in a low-carbon and keen to debate the issues as always. | :08:42. | :08:46.
Well, let's pick up on that point about younger voters. | :08:47. | :08:51.
The fact is all the parties need to engage with younger people. | :08:52. | :08:54.
At the EU Referendum last year nearly one in five of registered | :08:55. | :08:57.
The -- these sixth form students are well aware of the upcoming election. | :08:58. | :09:14.
They are across all the hot political topic squabble like most | :09:15. | :09:18.
of the country they do not agree on all the solutions. The reason may be | :09:19. | :09:24.
a lot but no deal being better than a bad deal but no deal would be | :09:25. | :09:29.
catastrophic. We now do not have to worry about what the EU will say. | :09:30. | :09:34.
This man realises how important it is for young people to vote. The | :09:35. | :09:43.
other do not have much chance... Head out to the rest of the College | :09:44. | :09:48.
and other students have not got the same appetite. You're old enough to | :09:49. | :09:54.
vote? Will devote this time round? Probably not. I do not know a lot | :09:55. | :09:59.
about politics so I do not interest myself in elections. Will you vote? | :10:00. | :10:06.
Probably not. Younger people are not showing up to vote is widespread. | :10:07. | :10:12.
During the EU referendum almost 20 in every 118-34 -year-old registered | :10:13. | :10:23.
to vote did not turn up, whereas people over 35 and ten and 100 | :10:24. | :10:26.
registered voters did not turn up. That means the votes for all the | :10:27. | :10:30.
people and their issues can be a lot more weight. This was seen in the | :10:31. | :10:36.
referendum result. The people have spoken and we are out. The majority | :10:37. | :10:41.
of young people wanted to remain part of judo but that was drowned | :10:42. | :10:44.
out by all the people generally preferred to leave. -- remain part | :10:45. | :10:52.
of the EU. And that was drowned out by all the people. If they did it on | :10:53. | :10:58.
the internet and you could read through what you will be voting for | :10:59. | :11:04.
it would be a lot easier. If they explained more what they can do for | :11:05. | :11:09.
me and how it would affect me and let me think about how and why I | :11:10. | :11:13.
should vote. There are a lot of potential votes | :11:14. | :11:19.
to be earned for any politicians they can convince this generation to | :11:20. | :11:20.
head to the polls. Let's have a word | :11:21. | :11:21.
with Andrew Sinclair, How significant is this generation | :11:22. | :11:23.
divide among voters? It is very significant number are | :11:24. | :11:31.
concerned it will only get worse in the so-called Brexit election. All | :11:32. | :11:35.
the parties work hard to attract young people but the reality is when | :11:36. | :11:40.
it comes to pulling the most young people do not turn out to vote so | :11:41. | :11:44.
that this why the party 's new policies towards all the voters | :11:45. | :11:47.
would make young people feel even more disillusioned. It is a vicious | :11:48. | :11:54.
circle. I supported is now a scramble to choose candidates? Yes, | :11:55. | :11:59.
a lot of meetings taking place this week. In many parts of the region | :12:00. | :12:05.
Labour, Ukip and the Liberal Democrats have no one in the frame | :12:06. | :12:09.
at the moment and have got to find candidates quickly. For existing MPs | :12:10. | :12:16.
in Chelmsford MP standing down, we know Douglas Carswell is going to | :12:17. | :12:22.

hands on some wondered if he was too old. This time he will be 80 next | :12:28. | :12:32.
month and says he is fit and ready to go. The association will meet | :12:33. | :12:34.
next week. We will have more on the region's | :12:35. | :12:36.
political scene in this Subjects include the county council | :12:37. | :12:39.
elections and the departure It's on at the later time | :12:40. | :12:42.
of 3:15 on BBC One. More than 300 people | :12:43. | :12:47.
have voted unanimously in support of buying the old cottage | :12:48. | :12:48.
hospital in Southwold At a packed meeting last night | :12:49. | :12:52.
people voiced their concern that weekenders had | :12:53. | :12:55.
forced up house prices. Most are now beyond the reach | :12:56. | :12:59.
of many local people. The Save Our Southwold | :13:00. | :13:02.
group has made a formal You are watching prog-mac. Stay with | :13:03. | :13:16.
us for Julie's weekend weather forecast. We live at Carrow Road. | :13:17. | :13:28.
And the food hall manager on top of the world as he takes a leap for | :13:29. | :13:31.
charity -- the football manager. All this week, we've been | :13:32. | :13:34.
meeting some of the special people who are taking part | :13:35. | :13:36.
in Sunday's London Marathon. Tonight, it's the turn | :13:37. | :13:38.
of Ryan Cameron, a PE Ryan has been diagnosed with early | :13:39. | :13:41.
onset Parkinson's disease. He says he will carry on teaching | :13:42. | :13:45.
for as long as he can, and is determined to | :13:46. | :13:52.
complete the Marathon This special needs school in Luton | :13:53. | :13:53.
is full of children with remarkable Appropriately, their PE teacher, | :13:54. | :14:10.
Ryan Cameron, has one of his own. Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease | :14:11. | :14:16.
three years ago at just 31, his decision to run | :14:17. | :14:19.
the London Marathon this weekend I like to think I am | :14:20. | :14:22.
an active person, a positive So even with something with this | :14:23. | :14:26.
I just want to get on with life. People have been asking me | :14:27. | :14:32.
if I'm nervous and I... I have been thinking about this, | :14:33. | :14:40.
obviously, for a while and I have pitched myself to get over | :14:41. | :14:46.
the finish line, whether that is crawling or walking, | :14:47. | :14:49.
but because I have done the mental side of things and psychologically | :14:50. | :14:51.
I know I am going to do it. Last year Ryan was too ill | :14:52. | :14:57.
to make the start line. His grit and positivity has | :14:58. | :15:01.
earned him the admiration Last year he had to pull out | :15:02. | :15:03.
because of his health, and this year there has been ups | :15:04. | :15:09.
and downs and his health has not been great some days, | :15:10. | :15:14.
but he has come back every week, every day, with determination | :15:15. | :15:17.
and I believe he can do it. And for these young people | :15:18. | :15:19.
it is incredibly inspiring. I think people will see | :15:20. | :15:22.
disability as a limitation and we do not believe that here, | :15:23. | :15:25.
we think our children can achieve anything, | :15:26. | :15:28.
what the right support and the right motivation and I think Ryan | :15:29. | :15:31.
is a very good example of that. And he is already looking | :15:32. | :15:39.
to his future sporting ambitions. I am hanging up my running shoes | :15:40. | :15:42.
after the marathon and I am going to move on to cycling, | :15:43. | :15:45.
purely because it is easier for someone with Parkinson's | :15:46. | :15:48.
to cycle that it is more advantageous than running because it | :15:49. | :15:50.
does not affect your joints as much. But for now he is giving | :15:51. | :15:56.
up for this weekend. For 26 miles, inspiring and raising | :15:57. | :16:03.
awareness every step of the way. If you are taking part | :16:04. | :16:10.
on Sunday - good luck. And if you want to share your | :16:11. | :16:13.
pictures of the big day you can Tonight's big match | :16:14. | :16:16.
in the Championship sees Norwich City hosting | :16:17. | :16:22.
league leaders Brighton. A win for Brighton will | :16:23. | :16:24.
confirm them as Champions. So it could be a very happy | :16:25. | :16:26.
return to Carrow Road for the Brighton manager | :16:27. | :16:28.
Chris Hughton. In fact, it's the first | :16:29. | :16:32.
time he's been there He probably would not admit it but | :16:33. | :16:50.
would be a sweet moment for Chris Hughton if Brighton can win tonight. | :16:51. | :16:55.
Sacked three years ago from here somewhat controversially, certainly | :16:56. | :17:00.
the timing was at Brighton this season have beaten all, as an one | :17:01. | :17:03.
more win this season would send them up as champion. | :17:04. | :17:07.
A popular man, passionate, too, Chris Hughton managed Norwich | :17:08. | :17:09.
for nearly two years, 11th in the Premier League | :17:10. | :17:11.
in his first season, sacked in April 2014 | :17:12. | :17:15.
Since then he has moved to Brighton, rebuilding his reputation | :17:16. | :17:20.
Victory tonight would seal the title in his first game | :17:21. | :17:25.
Looking forward to it because, irrespective of anything you... | :17:26. | :17:29.
work with a lot of people there, you have a lot of friends | :17:30. | :17:32.
and you always look forward to going back to seeing them, | :17:33. | :17:34.
and of course it is certainly nice to go back there perhaps | :17:35. | :17:37.
And here is the irony - when Hughton left three years ago | :17:38. | :17:47.
Five games to play, many thought his dismissal was harsh. | :17:48. | :17:56.
Others felt they delayed for too long. | :17:57. | :18:00.
I do not think we have got much choice because four points from six | :18:01. | :18:09.
games is relegation form and so we needed to do | :18:10. | :18:12.
To do it with five games to go, I can't quite understand it | :18:13. | :18:21.
but hopefully it will give Neil a good chance to save the club. | :18:22. | :18:25.
Youth coach Neil Adams took charge, he didn't save them, | :18:26. | :18:27.
But Chris Hughton, a respected figure, will be | :18:28. | :18:30.
I am a little bit biased because I like Chris anyway and have | :18:31. | :18:34.
known him for a long time and I think he is | :18:35. | :18:37.
I think he has done a great job and he does it | :18:38. | :18:44.
The motivation for them will the their season has not turned | :18:45. | :18:49.
They are all playing for that bit of pride | :18:50. | :18:53.
with a new manager coming in, making a point, playing up | :18:54. | :18:56.
against a very good team in ourselves and wanting to win. | :18:57. | :19:00.
From Brighton, the Championship is at stake. | :19:01. | :19:02.
Norwich fans would not want to deny him but delay him, | :19:03. | :19:04.
Widely regarded of one of the true gentleman and football, as this | :19:05. | :19:21.
month, the follow-on, -- from Norwich defender. No one would | :19:22. | :19:27.
begrudge him his success? Definitely not. He has proved over the past few | :19:28. | :19:31.
years he is a good manager and has gone down to Brighton and done a | :19:32. | :19:35.
magnificent job, fully deserved and I'm sure they will get promoted as | :19:36. | :19:40.
champions but hopefully not tonight. Not very Norwich fans were | :19:41. | :19:44.
enthralled with his conservative approach when he was here but at | :19:45. | :19:48.
Brighton he has been a very entertaining. I used to store has | :19:49. | :19:53.
virtues and felt the supporters and the board got it wrong. -- extol his | :19:54. | :20:00.
virtues. People said he was pragmatic in his approach but he | :20:01. | :20:05.
played with two wingers all the time which I consider pragmatic -- | :20:06. | :20:09.
attacking. But he has done the same down at Brighton and has scored | :20:10. | :20:13.
goals, which she was doing here. I think the board should go -- showed | :20:14. | :20:18.
a lack of foresight and got rid of them to quickly and gave into the | :20:19. | :20:23.
supporters, as it were. I think if they held on longer he would have | :20:24. | :20:31.
brought the same success to Norwich. It was 5-0 in the reverse fixture, | :20:32. | :20:37.
the public about that. They are full of confidence at the moment what is | :20:38. | :20:40.
knowledge are very inconsistent at the moment which has been their | :20:41. | :20:46.
season, very in and out and nothing sustainable. Thank you. You can | :20:47. | :20:53.
follow tonight's match on your local radio station. | :20:54. | :20:56.
If you watch professional football you will have seen different | :20:57. | :20:59.
managers chewing aggressively, screaming instructions, | :21:00. | :21:00.
It's all bout pressure, and it means they can | :21:01. | :21:03.
But how about jumping out of a plane at 13,000 feet? | :21:04. | :21:07.
Luton Town's Nathan Jones has done just that, taking part in a skydive | :21:08. | :21:10.
It took place at the Hinton airfield in Northamptonshire. | :21:11. | :21:14.
Our Sports Editor Jonathan Park was there. | :21:15. | :21:18.
On the sidelines, Nathan Jones usually control. | :21:19. | :21:19.
But it is a different story when there is a parachute involved. | :21:20. | :21:22.
I think the apprehension is getting up there, | :21:23. | :21:24.
But as long as you get down safely I don't mind. | :21:25. | :21:30.
There is a first time for everything. | :21:31. | :21:32.
And for Luton's manager at least he had another rookie by his side - | :21:33. | :21:38.
It came from a drunken bid at the Luton Town Christmas dinner. | :21:39. | :21:49.
I put my hands air the and bid for a skydive with Nathan Jones. | :21:50. | :21:57.
With an Luton flying high, this was a nice diversion, | :21:58. | :22:00.
at 13,000 feet, from the pressures of the promotion run in. | :22:01. | :22:02.
My life is in this geezer's hands here. | :22:03. | :22:12.
Conditions at the airfield in Northamptonshire were perfect. | :22:13. | :22:14.
Time now for Nathan and Mark to head skywards. | :22:15. | :22:16.
That is absolutely mental, jumping out of a plane. | :22:17. | :22:42.
Nothing prepares you for when you just exit the plane. | :22:43. | :22:44.
Now I understand why people say, that people have done it. | :22:45. | :22:49.
I'm very proud of him and I am pleased he is back down safely. | :22:50. | :23:00.
So one ticked off the bucket list and thousands raised for the club's | :23:01. | :23:03.
charity Level Trust, which helps young people living | :23:04. | :23:07.
To have someone as high-profile as Nathan Jones jumping out | :23:08. | :23:12.
of an aeroplane for us this afternoon really is the icing | :23:13. | :23:15.
on the cake of that partnership and all the club has done for us. | :23:16. | :23:18.
Well, job done, now going up, not down, is all that matters | :23:19. | :23:21.
to all of them although I have to say the landing was not as good as | :23:22. | :23:45.
euros! -- not as good as yours. It was lovely weather but I have a | :23:46. | :23:53.
feeling, will stay that way? I have a lot to talk about. Let's start | :23:54. | :23:58.
with this morning, a beautiful sunrise. For most of us we had guys | :23:59. | :24:04.
like this from most of the day and you can see why the satellite | :24:05. | :24:11.
picture -- skies like this. That will change overnight with a cold | :24:12. | :24:16.
front moving down bringing outbreaks of mainly light and patchy rain. Not | :24:17. | :24:22.
for everyone and not amounting to match. Because that is a lot of | :24:23. | :24:27.
cloud the frost for the night with light of a Babel winds. This is | :24:28. | :24:32.
called from bringing the overnight rain quickly clears to the south. | :24:33. | :24:39.
That leaves us with cloudy skies, a a showers from the north-west at a | :24:40. | :24:44.
block of dry weather -- a few showers. Although on the North | :24:45. | :24:56.
Norfolk coast. We finish with a few showers but a block of dry weather. | :24:57. | :25:04.
That is Saturday, Sunday with high-pressure buildings are many of | :25:05. | :25:09.
us it is another dry day, perhaps an isolated shower but a lot of fine | :25:10. | :25:14.
and dry weather and hopefully some sunshine. Highs of 14 Celsius. A | :25:15. | :25:21.
chilly start on Sunday, possibly frost for some of us. That goes from | :25:22. | :25:26.
London also for the London Marathon. But conditions are looking rather | :25:27. | :25:31.
good for that light winds and a fairly dry conditions. If the cloud | :25:32. | :25:36.
breaks we might see more in the way of sunshine. All in all not too bad | :25:37. | :25:40.
at all is good luck to everyone taking part. That is the weekend. | :25:41. | :25:45.
Some showers on Saturday but largely dry and most of us Sunday will be | :25:46. | :25:52.
another dry day. Monday is a cloudy start with some spots of rain, that | :25:53. | :25:57.
should clear and sunny spells develop and as the sun comes out | :25:58. | :26:01.
that could trigger one or two showers. Monday night will be | :26:02. | :26:07.
bitterly cold. Temperatures could get down below freezing and Tuesday | :26:08. | :26:13.
is a very different day. Feeling better be cold, winter showers of | :26:14. | :26:19.
rain, sleet and possibly even snow which is not that unusual for April, | :26:20. | :26:24.
actually, but quite a shock me think about balmy conditions we had the | :26:25. | :26:29.
last few weeks. Goodbye. Why didn't we go | :26:30. | :26:54.
to the library today? Because we don't have | :26:55. | :27:00.
a library any more. Why? The school's had to make big cuts. | :27:01. | :27:03.
Cuts like with a knife, miss? No, it means that the school | :27:04. | :27:09.
can't afford to pay for things like the library any more or shows | :27:10. | :27:13.
or books or school visits. | :27:14. | :27:19. |
