The mother of missing airman Corrie McKeague has told Look East


she's been pleading with police to search a landfill site


near Cambridge since early in the investigation.


Suffolk Police have announced they'll begin excavating

for her beloved son is now focusing on a landfill site near Cambridge.

Specialist search officers will spend around ten weeks


searching 1000 square metres of landfill to a depth


Police say they are aware that this could cause extra noise and odour


problems from local residents, particularly those in


They hope they understand this is a vital part


Hundreds of police officers and volunteers have helped


look for Corrie McKeague since he disappeared five months


ago, and police say searching the landfill is the next logical


A convicted criminal who had been released from prison is back behind


bars after being arrested on suspicion of a murder in Ipswich.


Dean Stansby died after being found stabbed in the Ancaster Road area


A 39-year-old man from Ipswich was arrested on suspicion of murder.


He has now been bailed but returned to prison because he had been wanted


for breaching the terms of his licence.


A 16-year-old boy has also been arrested.


Norwich's Labour MP Clive Lewis has dismissed claims he's planning a bid


Mr Lewis quit as shadow business secretary last week
