Villagers are threatening legal action over plans to evict them

run by the community for nearly a quarter of a century.

But the owners of the building say they must get out by October.

It is an emotional blow for them they will lose their chance to meet

and have the convenience of coming to the shop to buy items

And they are rather shocked at the loss of history as well.

We don't want to lose it so it is a rather Churchillian

resolve really that we will never, ever give up.

The options are to fight it through the courts,

to temporarily operate out of a Portakabin, to close

until new premises can be found, or to buy it at a cost

?50,000 is the ballpark if we don't buy the building.

It isn't ideal and it is a great shame it has come to this

but the village as a whole feels strongly enough about this

to mobilise and try and do something about it.

The shop generates enough money to be self-sustaining,

but whatever the outcome of this situation it will cost more
