I'm Tom Williams. at the earlier time of nine o'clock.

:00:08.:00:10.

The internationally-renowned sculptor Sir Antony Gormley has

:00:11.:00:12.

defended his latest work at its official launch in Norfolk.

:00:13.:00:18.

The life-sized figures caused controversy

:00:19.:00:19.

when they were placed on top of buildings

:00:20.:00:24.

Students complained they look like real people about step off.

:00:25.:00:28.

Art, supposed to stimulate discussion.

:00:29.:00:31.

But these life-size sculptures silhouetted on the edge have

:00:32.:00:34.

They look like real-life people about to step off the building.

:00:35.:00:41.

Their creator, world-renowned artist Sir Antony Gormley says

:00:42.:00:43.

If we are talking about suicide, these works are nothing to do

:00:44.:00:50.

with suicide, they are actually to do with life.

:00:51.:00:54.

They are placed on the skyline in order to, in a way, make us think

:00:55.:00:58.

The sculptures have already been displayed in cities around

:00:59.:01:06.

the world, so why have they come to the university campus?

:01:07.:01:10.

For me it is an extraordinary privilege to have work that

:01:11.:01:12.

will simply just be part of this enviroment, that is hopefully

:01:13.:01:25.

about the future, that is about, in the way,

:01:26.:01:27.

And it is that academic environment that some argue

:01:28.:01:32.

Part of campus life is about debate, and I would have been disappointed,

:01:33.:01:36.

in a way, if there had not been a debate.

:01:37.:01:41.

Clearly issues around mental health and student well-being

:01:42.:01:43.

are incredibly important to us at the University,

:01:44.:01:47.

and I think it is right these things are being aired.

:01:48.:01:49.

The figures were checked by Sir Antony today

:01:50.:01:51.

as the Sainsbury Centre launches its vision to turn these

:01:52.:01:54.

Unfamiliar and unsettling to some at the moment,

:01:55.:02:02.

they will be on display here for the next five years.

:02:03.:02:05.

More than 200 jobs are at risk after the bakery firm Warburtons

:02:06.:02:08.

announced plans to close its factory in Milton Keynes.

:02:09.:02:11.

based on the Blakelands Industrial site, has been run by the company

:02:12.:02:16.

Warburtons has 45 days to consult with staff.

:02:17.:02:22.

The Essex MP and former cabinet minister Sir Eric Pickles

:02:23.:02:26.

is to stand down ahead of the general election.

:02:27.:02:28.

The 65-year-old has represented Brentwood and Ongar since 1992.

:02:29.:02:31.

Meanwhile, former MP Sir Bob Russell has said he will stand

:02:32.:02:34.

as the Liberal Democrat candidate in Colchester.

:02:35.:02:37.

Sir Bob represented the town for 18 years until he was beaten

:02:38.:02:40.

by Conservative Will Quince in 2015.

:02:41.:02:45.

All latest scores with around five minutes to play.

:02:46.:02:50.

Ipswich's Championship status is secure for another season.

:02:51.:02:58.

They're currently drawing losing at bottom club Rotherham.

:02:59.:03:01.

Last night, despite failing to register a shot on target,

:03:02.:03:03.

both the Norwich and Brighton managers felt the Canaries

:03:04.:03:05.

The result denied the Seagulls, who've already won promotion,

:03:06.:03:09.

Both goals, unbelievably,

:03:10.:03:12.

We have been inconsistent for too long this season.

:03:13.:03:28.

Long periods of inconsistency, and up until four games ago we had

:03:29.:03:30.

not beaten anybody above us in the league, we have now beaten

:03:31.:03:33.

So that's what we should be doing, and it was terrific we did it

:03:34.:03:39.

all eyes on Southend, who can still make the play-offs.

:03:40.:03:48.

Elsewhere, Northampton trail at Bury.

:03:49.:03:52.

MK Dons are also behind while Peterborough are three up

:03:53.:03:54.

In League Two, Colchester are being held by Plymouth.

:03:55.:03:57.

Luton can all but secure their play-off place with victory,

:03:58.:04:00.

Cambridge and Stevenage's play-off hopes look like being dented.

:04:01.:04:09.

Lets get the weather now with Wendy Hurrell.

:04:10.:04:12.

For most of us the fine and dry weather continues this weekend.

:04:13.:04:19.

Some blue sky above Norfolk this morning.

:04:20.:04:21.

More of that tomorrow, remaining settled and slightly warmer.

:04:22.:04:23.

This evening and overnight, a mixture of clear

:04:24.:04:25.

Mostly dry, mostly calm, no lower than five Celsius

:04:26.:04:29.

Tomorrow's starts on a somewhat chilly note but fine conditions,

:04:30.:04:33.

with sunshine coming and going through the day

:04:34.:04:35.

here and also if you're heading to the capital for the marathon.

:04:36.:04:38.

Temperatures at least up to 14 Celsius across East Anglia.

:04:39.:04:42.

Much colder conditions from Tuesday onwards, unsettled as well.

:04:43.:04:50.

We'll be back tomorrow at ten to seven.

:04:51.:05:16.

Hello. No change to the rest of the forecast into

:05:17.:05:17.
