Good afternoon. The sisters of Lincolnshire skier,
Jade Etherington, have talkdd of their pride as she won Great
Britain's first medal at thd Winter Paralympics. The 22`year`old, along
with her guide, won silver hn the women's downhill for
visually`impaired athletes. It's Britain's first skiing medal in the
games for 20 years. Gemma D`wson reports.
This, Jade's first event, and her first medal. It makes Jade the first
British female ever to win ` skiing medal at the Winter games. Ht hasn't
really sunk in yet, I reallx excited, an official prow
Paralympian now. It is a grdat feeling. Jade and her guide Caroline
has spent months preparing for the Paralympics.
Jade is partially sighted to rise and Caroline to guide her round the
course. What was it like watching your sister compete? Back in
Lincolnshire her three sistdrs have been speaking about her success and
they couldn't be prouder. I feel relieved for her, and I think it
will help her to calm her ndrves, so hopefully she can do just as well in
all her other events. Praisd from the Prime Minister, he said this
area. Jade will compete agahn on Monday, first time to recovdr from
this bump at the end of the race. And to celebrate her silver medal,
along with her birthday tomorrow. Police say a body found in woodland
in Lincolnshire yesterday afternoon is that of a missing Americ`n
tourist. Denise Grey, who w`s 5 , went missing on Monday. She had
arrived in this country before Christmas to stay with a frhend she
met online. Police say therd are no suspicious circumstances. It is very
sad news and our hearts go out to family and concerned. We all really
rather shocked that such an event could take place here. Anything we
can do, we will be happy to do. Hull City are 90 minutes aw`y from
playing at Wembley for only the second time in their historx. The
Tigers face Sunderland at the KC Stadium tomorrow having alrdady
beaten their opponents twicd in the league this season. Manager Steve
Bruce says it's a great opportunity for his team.
We have got a wonderful chance, but there are eight teams left,
everybody has got a chance. As we saw last year, Wigan won thd thing,
