A BBC investigation has revealed the trust that runs

:00:08.:00:12.

Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital has spent

:00:13.:00:15.

more than ?8 million on agency staff in the last financial year.

:00:16.:00:20.

The 247% rise in spending is the biggest increase

:00:21.:00:24.

The trust says the figure represents 2.6% of its budget and the amount

:00:25.:00:32.

spent compares favourably to other trusts.

:00:33.:00:36.

A Ukip MEP for Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire has backed

:00:37.:00:39.

the leader of his party, despite a poor showing

:00:40.:00:41.

Mike Hookem says Paul Nuttall has his "full support".

:00:42.:00:45.

Mr Nuttall recently made an apology after false claims

:00:46.:00:50.

appeared on his website, including a suggestion

:00:51.:00:52.

he lost close friends in the Hillsborough disaster.

:00:53.:00:56.

The Ukip leader came second to Labour in the Stoke

:00:57.:00:59.

We've been here before, we'll keep on fighting

:01:00.:01:04.

I send out a personal plea to every Labour Party member, please,

:01:05.:01:09.

please, please keep Jeremy Corbyn, because every time he opens his

:01:10.:01:12.

A school near Lincoln is now thought to be one

:01:13.:01:20.

of the greenest in the country after cutting its carbon

:01:21.:01:22.

It's estimated becoming more energy efficient

:01:23.:01:26.

will save William Farr School up to a ?180,000

:01:27.:01:31.

William Farr School is over 60 years old, but it's

:01:32.:01:38.

looking ahead to a more environmentally friendly future.

:01:39.:01:42.

Over the last five years, it's made big changes,

:01:43.:01:45.

like installing solar panels for electricity, and ground source

:01:46.:01:48.

heating that uses water pumped through the ground

:01:49.:01:51.

But some of their changes have been much smaller,

:01:52.:01:56.

We worked with them to help install the insulation and LED

:01:57.:01:59.

When you have the heating on, don't have the windows open,

:02:00.:02:03.

Anyone who wanted to design an eco or green sticker had a chance to get

:02:04.:02:09.

it professionally published and stuck around the school.

:02:10.:02:13.

The head says it'll take six years to cover the cost of the changes,

:02:14.:02:16.

but after that, it'll save them ?180,000 a year - money that's

:02:17.:02:19.

I'm sure I'll be facing another budget cut.

:02:20.:02:22.

It's a significant problem for all schools, but clearly

:02:23.:02:27.

if you're spending ?180,000 simply on lighting and heating,

:02:28.:02:30.

very naturally, the money not being used for that would go

:02:31.:02:34.

towards educating the children, and what could be better?

:02:35.:02:36.

The most recent addition is a ?900,000 biomass boiler

:02:37.:02:39.

The company that installed it helped the school finance the project,

:02:40.:02:45.

and says many are being put off by the costs involved.

:02:46.:02:48.

We worked with them to showcase that this actually is doable

:02:49.:02:51.

within Lincolnshire, and actually all over the UK.

:02:52.:02:53.

We know that there is funding out there, there's investors that

:02:54.:02:57.

want to do it, and there's companies like us who have the capability

:02:58.:03:00.

William Farr has been supported by Lincolnshire County Council.

:03:01.:03:07.

It says if more schools made these changes, it could revolutionise

:03:08.:03:10.

Schools make up about 66% of the council's carbon footprint,

:03:11.:03:18.

It teaches children that there is a consequence

:03:19.:03:24.

to the energy they use, and how they can reduce

:03:25.:03:26.

The county council is applying for funding for a project to help

:03:27.:03:30.

more schools cut their carbon footprint, and William Farr says

:03:31.:03:32.

they'll keep looking for ways to become more energy efficient.

:03:33.:03:37.

Sarah Walton, BBC Look North, in Lincoln.

:03:38.:03:40.

Archaeologists working on the route of Lincoln's Eastern bypass have

:03:41.:03:43.

discovered artefacts dating back 12,000 years.

:03:44.:03:48.

They've been working between the River Witham

:03:49.:03:50.

and Washingborough Road since September.

:03:51.:03:55.

The finds include tools and high-status Roman buildings.

:03:56.:03:57.

Lets take a look at the weather - here's Jen Bartram

:03:58.:04:00.

Still fairly breezy as we go through the night to night, there will be

:04:01.:04:15.

some... The temperatures were blocked down to 45 degrees. There

:04:16.:04:20.

will be a few showers pushing in when we get to dawn. A cold feeling

:04:21.:04:26.

to Monday. A few sunny spells but these showers get going and we will

:04:27.:04:31.

see some hail, Rhondda and perhaps sleet or snow. Tomorrow's top

:04:32.:04:37.

temperature, eight Celsius. As we go to the rest of the week we continued

:04:38.:04:42.

with the onset of the. Further showers as we headed to Tuesday and

:04:43.:04:45.

the wind starts to die down into Wednesday.

:04:46.:04:47.

We're back at 6.25am with bulletins throughout the morning.

:04:48.:04:52.

Don't forget your BBC's radio breakfast shows will be on the air

:04:53.:04:57.

as well. Intel then, goodbye. Good evening. We saw the fist named

:04:58.:05:15.

storm of the season today. It was Storm Ewan, named by the Irish

:05:16.:05:18.

meteorological service, because it was in Ireland we expected the

:05:19.:05:22.

biggest impacts. For the rest of the UK it was quite windy and wet, but

:05:23.:05:25.

the worst of it is making its way towards

:05:26.:05:27.
