Tributes have been paid to a mother of baby triplets who's died suddenly

Rachel Park and her husband Steven were spending their first Christmas

at home with Poppie, Mollie and Evelyn -

who were born in March at just 26 weeks and had only recently come

Mum Rachel, who was 39, died on Tuesday.

An online fundraising page has been set up to help

the family by a triplet and quadruplet support group.

She is a remarkable lady. She was an inspiration to me and to a lot of

people. I look up to her, and I always will. She was so selfless and

we thought if we could take a bit of pressure off the family, we are

it won't just be a short-term it won't just be a short-term

fundraiser to begin with, we wanted to carry it on so Stephen and the

girls have always got a bit of security.

A father and son have appeared before Scarborough

180s years. But never one quite like this. Because despite the tackles on

the pitch, these fans and archrivals are actually playing for the same

team, raising money for five-year-old Sunderland fan

Bradley, who has terminal cancer. We thought this was the best way to get

two teams that really dislike each other in footballing terms, get them

together and play the game. Cancer overrides rivalry. Newcastle and

Sunderland have history of disliking each other, but this proves that

family and football can work. Bradley's family were given his

terminal diagnosis just before Christmas. He has been a mascot

twice at the Stadium of light, and his name has been chanted by

Newcastle fans as well. It shows cancer has no colours, we are

fighting together for a good cause. And for the lads to do this, I am

over the moon. We're going straight back to the pub in Sunderland, I do

not think this top is the best option. I do not want to spend too

much time in this part of the world, but I would do this for the kids.

All the passion you would expect from a north-east derby, but

channelled into one very good cause. It's just over a year

since floods submerged Jorvik, Now a date has been

set for the reopening These were the devastating scenes at

Jorvik Viking Centre after the Boxing Day floods last year. One of

your's best-known attractions knee deep in water. Thankfully all of the

important artefacts were saved, but the models were damaged, forcing the

centre to close. Now, the York archaeological trust which runs the

attraction is looking forward to its reopening. One of the main themes is

the fact that Jorvik was a multicultural diverse place a

thousand years ago. They spoke different languages, so you will

hear those. We have illustrated that through the usual techniques you

would expect in Jorvik, sights, sounds and smells. The Jorvik Viking

Centre occupies the original site we an archaeological dig unearthed

medieval artefacts in the 1970s and 80s. Many of those were on display

in Jorvik, and since the attraction has been closed, they have been

moved to other venues around the city, including the undercroft that

York Minster. All going well, Jorvik will be open on the 8th of April,

with new sights, smells and most importantly improved flood defences.

Football now, and yet another injury blow for Premier League strugglers

Sunderland ahead of a busy New Year programme.

Manager David Moyes confirmed this afternoon that his star goalkeeper

Jordan Pickford will be out for up to eight weeks after damaging his

knee in this collision with team-mate Papy Djilobodji

and Manchester United's Zlatan Ibrahimovich.

Pickford becomes the club's sixth long-term injury concern.

It is a major disappointment to us and the boys as well. -- the boy as

well. He been saving points, and that is a big thing. I saw the

physio is working on her mind having a look at his knee, and you think it

must be OK, but he needs a bit of rest and recovery.

Christmas have been going from mild to cold quickly, and will continue

these fluctuations over new year. Tomorrow, a cloudy day for all of

us, there will not be quite such a chill in the ear, so not as cold,

with temperatures in double figures. For New Year's Eve, there could be

showers across Cumbria, otherwise this weather front approaches

through the evening and overnight, so if you are out and about,... It

will not be as dense fog, and it will not be as cold either. Through

this evening temperatures will drop below freezing. Tomorrow, a lot of

cloud around, producing drizzle. The rest of the breaks further east,

with temperatures doing quite nicely. Milder than they should be.
