Good evening. for the news where you are.

:00:00.:00:11.

A Sheffield bed manufacturer is under investigation

:00:12.:00:15.

following the death of a seven month old baby.

:00:16.:00:18.

Playtime Beds has issued a safety warning on its website stating

:00:19.:00:21.

that its made-to-measure beds could lead to risk of strangulation

:00:22.:00:23.

Children's cots, some bunk beds, high sleeper beds and triple beds

:00:24.:00:29.

North Yorkshire Police has confirmed it is investigating after the death

:00:30.:00:35.

And anyone concerned should get in touch with them

:00:36.:00:39.

Police have launched a murder investigation

:00:40.:00:45.

after a woman was found dead at a house in Bradford.

:00:46.:00:48.

Officers were called to the address in Bankholme Court

:00:49.:00:51.

in the Holmewood area of the city at around 4.20pm yesterday.

:00:52.:00:56.

The woman who's believed to be in her 30s was

:00:57.:00:58.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

:00:59.:01:07.

Voters in places like Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale will have

:01:08.:01:10.

to show identification to receive a ballot paper in a bid

:01:11.:01:13.

The Yorkshire towns are on a list of places thought to be

:01:14.:01:17.

The trial scheme will start at the 2018 local elections.

:01:18.:01:25.

But former London Mayor Ken Livingstone says the move

:01:26.:01:27.

will make life more difficult for the poorest communities.

:01:28.:01:29.

Bradford will get nearly ?1 million to investigate which parts

:01:30.:01:32.

of the district are at the greatest risk of flooding.

:01:33.:01:35.

Almost a thousand homes and businesses around the area

:01:36.:01:37.

were left underwater after last year's Boxing Day floods.

:01:38.:01:41.

The money has come from Yorkshire's flood and coastal committee.

:01:42.:01:43.

Now we know that the Christmas period can be particularly tough

:01:44.:01:46.

But a new project is asking us to think about how

:01:47.:01:51.

Rather than hand cash to those on the street -

:01:52.:01:56.

Help Us Help in Sheffield - wants us to give it

:01:57.:01:59.

to established charities. James Vincent reports.

:02:00.:02:02.

Dave Crook has been volunteering at the Archer Project in Sheffield

:02:03.:02:05.

for the best part of 20 years, and the charity knows,

:02:06.:02:08.

without him and his fried eggs, they would be stuck.

:02:09.:02:11.

This place and many places like it could not run without volunteers.

:02:12.:02:15.

We have got volunteers who have been here 18 years,

:02:16.:02:18.

Meals are given out every day, and it will be even more

:02:19.:02:25.

important over Christmas. Chris has spent time on the streets.

:02:26.:02:28.

He says this time of year is particularly bad.

:02:29.:02:31.

It is absolutely terrible, because you need to get

:02:32.:02:34.

about three sleeping bags, and then you have the thought

:02:35.:02:37.

of your family, what you have lost, especially around Christmas,

:02:38.:02:41.

thinking, I could be in my house with my family.

:02:42.:02:51.

Chris now volunteers at the Archer Project,

:02:52.:02:54.

and it is one of the organisations involved in a new project

:02:55.:02:57.

One of the things they are doing is trying to make people think

:02:58.:03:02.

about whether they should give money to people on the street or give it

:03:03.:03:05.

We don't want to tell people what to do with their money.

:03:06.:03:10.

We like the fact that people are generous,

:03:11.:03:12.

but we want people to help people, and giving money often keeps

:03:13.:03:15.

people where they are, and doesn't help them move on.

:03:16.:03:18.

I think that is a very good idea, because if they are giving money

:03:19.:03:21.

to people on the streets, not all of them, but a good

:03:22.:03:24.

majority of people, it is going on drink or drugs

:03:25.:03:27.

anyway, so I think it is a brilliant idea.

:03:28.:03:29.

Giving it to the charities, you know the money is getting spent

:03:30.:03:32.

properly then and they are getting the proper help the people need.

:03:33.:03:34.

Back in the kitchen, the breakfast rush has finished,

:03:35.:03:37.

but that just means the volunteers have to start on making dinner.

:03:38.:03:45.

You are fully up-to-date on all the news this evening, here is poor with

:03:46.:03:49.

the forecast. High pressure in charge this week

:03:50.:03:52.

and certainly in the short-term, The Met Office has a warning

:03:53.:03:57.

in place, that fog could really be quite reluctant to clear around

:03:58.:04:01.

the Vale of York and into some lower Courtesy of high pressure,

:04:02.:04:05.

the breeze will pick up during the second half of the week,

:04:06.:04:08.

though, so things should turn Already turning a little misty

:04:09.:04:11.

in places but later tonight, that mist will thicken

:04:12.:04:16.

into fairly thick fog. The hills will be stuck out

:04:17.:04:19.

and there will be a widespread frost, with temperatures down to -2

:04:20.:04:26.

Celsius, 27 Fahrenheit. So watch out for that fog,

:04:27.:04:28.

if you are making a journey down the M1 or the A1,

:04:29.:04:31.

it could really be quite reluctant to clear.

:04:32.:04:34.

Much of it will lift for a time. The best of the sunshine tomorrow

:04:35.:04:37.

will be over the hills, the Pennines, the North Yorkshire

:04:38.:04:39.

hills, but a cold day nonetheless. Temperatures in the range

:04:40.:04:42.

of 3 to 5 degrees. Thursday looks cloudy, but dry.

:04:43.:04:44.

It turns brighter, though, for New Year's Eve and it

:04:45.:04:46.

turns milder as well. That is it from me, we will be back

:04:47.:04:59.

tomorrow afternoon and I will see you in the New Year. Goodbye.

:05:00.:05:03.
