After months of silence, the bells ring out again at York Minister.

:00:00.:00:22.

We'll speak exclusively to the Archbishop to see

:00:23.:00:24.

what solution they've found after the bell-ringer row.

:00:25.:00:30.

The MS patients travelling abroad for treatment.

:00:31.:00:34.

I'm scared of not doing anything about it.

:00:35.:00:44.

Now, love them or hate them, you can't have Christmas

:00:45.:00:47.

dinner without sprouts, can you, Annie?

:00:48.:00:49.

I'm going to show you how to spruce up your sprouts.

:00:50.:00:53.

And a very disturbed spell of weather is on its way.

:00:54.:00:59.

Tonight - the astonishing footage of a man just inches

:01:00.:01:17.

from being killed by a train in West Yorkshire.

:01:18.:01:20.

Rail bosses have released the video to warn of the risks

:01:21.:01:24.

It's amazing this cyclist escaped uninjured as he failed

:01:25.:01:29.

to see the train coming at a crossing near Pudsey.

:01:30.:01:33.

He had barely seconds to spare as he tried

:01:34.:01:36.

Our correspondent Spencer Stokes has the full story.

:01:37.:01:41.

A train driver's view of what happens when a man pushing a bike

:01:42.:01:44.

and decides to take his life in his hand.

:01:45.:01:50.

A near miss captured from various angles at the level crossing

:01:51.:01:53.

The cyclist stops for one train but then presumes he can cross,

:01:54.:01:59.

unaware that another train is approaching.

:02:00.:02:02.

This sort of crossing is quite unusual because there

:02:03.:02:05.

aren't automatic barriers, so what people have to do is check

:02:06.:02:09.

and if it is, start to make their way across the crossing.

:02:10.:02:14.

Over the last 18 months though, there have been 18 separate

:02:15.:02:18.

incidents where people have crossed the railway line

:02:19.:02:21.

when they shouldn't have done, therefore putting their own lives

:02:22.:02:25.

at risk from trains travelling rather quickly.

:02:26.:02:30.

60 mph is the permitted speed on the crossing

:02:31.:02:32.

But people have played a game of chicken on the tracks, wandered

:02:33.:02:39.

across while using a phone and one driver towed his boat through

:02:40.:02:42.

when he should have been firmly behind the gates.

:02:43.:02:48.

The fear now is someone will be very seriously

:02:49.:02:51.

You put this message out every year, why do we keep seeing

:02:52.:02:56.

There's indications of complacency from people that just think they

:02:57.:03:02.

know how to use the crossing and there are very impatient to

:03:03.:03:06.

These gates are not closed for long, there are very

:03:07.:03:11.

clear indications, very clear alarms, and we just need people

:03:12.:03:14.

to be patient and use the crossing, take their time.

:03:15.:03:19.

They won't be delayed unnecessarily and cross when

:03:20.:03:21.

But patience seems to be in short supply.

:03:22.:03:25.

Well, I've already confessed to crossing if it changes as I get

:03:26.:03:32.

to the gate because you've got plenty of time.

:03:33.:03:34.

So if it goes red, you still sort of making a dash for it?

:03:35.:03:37.

Well, I've never count is less than 45 seconds

:03:38.:03:40.

I have a very highly developed sense of

:03:41.:03:46.

When I saw the video, I was shocked at just

:03:47.:03:49.

how close a call this one was

:03:50.:03:51.

and it does emphasise how tragic these incidents can be.

:03:52.:03:54.

This gentleman in the video got lucky.

:03:55.:03:56.

I have had the heartbreaking task of having to tell families that, you

:03:57.:04:00.

know, their loved ones aren't coming home for the sake of what is

:04:01.:04:03.

Level crossing misuse can land motorists

:04:04.:04:07.

Pedestrians face a fine of ?1000 and a criminal record.

:04:08.:04:14.

The cyclist escaped punishment but it's hoped he

:04:15.:04:17.

learned his lesson from an incredibly near miss.

:04:18.:04:28.

Absolutely astonishing pictures there.

:04:29.:04:29.

Next tonight - feast your ears on this...

:04:30.:04:34.

It's something we didn't think we'd hear this Christmas.

:04:35.:04:38.

The bells of York Minster ringing out.

:04:39.:04:41.

They were silenced following a row with volunteer bell ringers

:04:42.:04:43.

and concerns about safeguarding procedures.

:04:44.:04:46.

In a moment, we'll go live to York to speak to the Archbishop

:04:47.:04:49.

but first Abi Jaiyeola looks back at the story.

:04:50.:04:54.

For centuries, the bells of York Minster have

:04:55.:04:58.

chimed out across the city but in October, they stopped.

:04:59.:05:02.

The volunteer bell-ringers were dismissed over concerns about

:05:03.:05:04.

It came after one of the ringers was accused

:05:05.:05:08.

of indecent assault against young girls.

:05:09.:05:10.

Since then, the Minster has struggled to find replacement

:05:11.:05:15.

Some who'd offered to step in and said they'd

:05:16.:05:19.

been subjected to intimidation on social media

:05:20.:05:22.

The previous bell-ringing team denied that they've been

:05:23.:05:27.

involved in any intimidation and said they had tried

:05:28.:05:30.

But today, a resolution and at tonight's carol service, the

:05:31.:05:35.

bells will ring again, albeit with a new team of ringers.

:05:36.:05:43.

The Archbishop of York John Semtamu is at the Minster.

:05:44.:05:52.

Archbishop, what does it mean to have those bells ringing again? It

:05:53.:06:02.

is exciting. I said to you two days after the group stood down by the

:06:03.:06:06.

Dean and chapter that we were hoping before long the bells would ring

:06:07.:06:10.

again and were very grateful for the courageous and generous ringers from

:06:11.:06:13.

within the city and across the country who have come forward to try

:06:14.:06:16.

and help us move forward and are ringing for us over this period of

:06:17.:06:20.

time. There they go again! Such a wonderful time. Singing to the

:06:21.:06:26.

wonder of God. Mixed you is the Dean of Europe. Could I ask you, is this

:06:27.:06:33.

a temporary solution to the problem? We are going to be recruiting a new

:06:34.:06:40.

band in the New Year, so, yes, we have volunteers especially for the

:06:41.:06:43.

Christmas season. So it is an interim to make sure that for the

:06:44.:06:46.

benefit of all those coming to worship and the citizens of York

:06:47.:06:50.

they know that there is a very special service for Christmas

:06:51.:06:54.

happening tonight. Archbishop, everyone was upset. The bells had a

:06:55.:06:58.

tradition of ringing in Europe since 1361. I've not been a long quite as

:06:59.:07:04.

long as that, but it is very important for the people of York to

:07:05.:07:09.

be able to enjoy these bells. It was important and of course, because

:07:10.:07:13.

they are part of York Minster, they are being run for the glory of God.

:07:14.:07:17.

Not just the enjoyment but it is nice that everyone can enjoy these

:07:18.:07:22.

bells. When people say they have never stopped, well, they have been

:07:23.:07:26.

stopped because of cleaning and the Second World War so it is not true

:07:27.:07:31.

that have been ringing consistently through the 13th century, there have

:07:32.:07:35.

been gaps but because of the way the processors have happened, we are

:07:36.:07:38.

looking forward to recruiting a band who will abide by the church's

:07:39.:07:45.

processes in terms of safeguarding. What happens next, Dean of York?

:07:46.:07:51.

There are many services through Christmas and we hope very much

:07:52.:07:54.

there will be more bell-ringing. We will have to listen out to discover

:07:55.:07:58.

when that will be. Thank you very much indeed for sharing those bells

:07:59.:07:59.

with us this evening. Thank you. Yorkshire takes in more

:08:00.:08:02.

Syrian refugees than any We'll hear from some

:08:03.:08:05.

of the new arrivals. Like, you're feeling sad

:08:06.:08:09.

when you think about your family. A new report out today says last

:08:10.:08:24.

year's Boxing Day floods cost Yorkshire's economy over

:08:25.:08:27.

half a billion pounds. It says 4000 homes and 2000

:08:28.:08:31.

businesses were affected. committed by government and councils

:08:32.:08:36.

towards new flood defences. But another ?25 million

:08:37.:08:44.

is needed to accelerate more flood defence schemes

:08:45.:08:48.

with 90,000 homes Well, all week we've been back

:08:49.:08:51.

to those places most badly affected. Today, we return to Tadcaster

:08:52.:08:56.

where the town was split in two after its road bridge

:08:57.:09:01.

over the River Wharfe Well, I think it's fair to say that

:09:02.:09:15.

the people were hoping by this time this bridge would be open for

:09:16.:09:19.

Christmas. Sadly, because of a series of delays, that is not going

:09:20.:09:22.

to happen. We expected to happen towards the last week of January.

:09:23.:09:27.

But I spent all day today talking to various people, businesses and

:09:28.:09:30.

traders alike about the recovery and looking forward to 2017.

:09:31.:09:35.

The reopening of Tadcaster's Road Bridge was described as a national

:09:36.:09:41.

priority, but almost a year on, work to repair it remains unfinished. The

:09:42.:09:48.

repercussions of what happened here last December I still being felt. At

:09:49.:09:53.

the town's medical Centre, insurance costs have increased by almost

:09:54.:09:59.

1000%. There is an annual premium this year of ?39,500 with a ?100,000

:10:00.:10:06.

excess as compared to last year where our premium was ?3425.

:10:07.:10:13.

So you can imagine, we feel we are being somewhat unfairly punished. In

:10:14.:10:20.

the aftermath of the floods, the town hosted Prince Andrew 's friends

:10:21.:10:24.

of the devastation. We have been hosting since about 1851. One

:10:25.:10:30.

business affected was the iron mongers on Bridge Street. How high

:10:31.:10:33.

the water come in last December? The water came up to this level here and

:10:34.:10:38.

it was about three foot deep year and then about four feet deep down

:10:39.:10:43.

in the bottom level. Saw the whole shop? It has been a tough year for

:10:44.:10:47.

many traders. They hope the bridge reopening will get all businesses

:10:48.:10:51.

back on track. They seem to be recovering pretty well but the

:10:52.:10:54.

bridge will be the big thing. When it reopens, that will unite the town

:10:55.:10:58.

and hopefully that will busy things back up again. Across the road, the

:10:59.:11:04.

butcher estimates traders down by about 25% because of the bridge

:11:05.:11:08.

closure, but they say they are optimistic the 2017. The bridge will

:11:09.:11:12.

make a massive difference. We will have the traffic back, people

:11:13.:11:15.

looking into the shops and thinking it's a nice place to visit, so it

:11:16.:11:19.

will be a massive difference for us. It has been a turbulence 12 months

:11:20.:11:23.

for Tadcaster, but there is a discernible sense of optimism here.

:11:24.:11:28.

The floods may have divided the town physically, but its legacy has only

:11:29.:11:31.

served to unite the community more permanently.

:11:32.:11:35.

That's the thing, you are struck by the community endeavour and that

:11:36.:11:40.

willingness and spirits to get things back and get that recovery

:11:41.:11:43.

and turn it into optimism for the New Year ahead. But start to David

:11:44.:11:48.

Barrell from the county council. You have responsibility for this bridge

:11:49.:11:52.

here. Why wasn't it open for Christmas, what has been a problem?

:11:53.:11:55.

There have been a number of issues but as you can see, it is an

:11:56.:11:59.

incredibly difficult structure to rebuild. We are working to the

:12:00.:12:03.

programme. It was not open to Christmas but to open for the end of

:12:04.:12:07.

December so that we are working for one year after it unfortunately

:12:08.:12:10.

collapsed. High river levels unethically talked about that

:12:11.:12:16.

before, complexities with the national real bridge further

:12:17.:12:19.

downstream causing water to back up to our bridge, unfortunately that

:12:20.:12:24.

has sold our operation down a wee RER. Storms are coming over the next

:12:25.:12:28.

few days. People have been a little nervous about that. Is it likely to

:12:29.:12:33.

have an impact on what level here? No, we have been monitoring the

:12:34.:12:36.

forecast and although there might be heavy rain, that rain will be fairly

:12:37.:12:39.

transient. It certainly will not hit the wall so we have no concerns

:12:40.:12:46.

about flooding. Give us a date then, when can we see will track across

:12:47.:12:49.

this bridge? We are working to the programme we issued which is the

:12:50.:12:52.

27th of January so that is when we expect to have road traffic crossing

:12:53.:12:56.

the bridge again. A lot of companies work on the masonry particularly

:12:57.:12:58.

over the arches which they're building at the moment, that we are

:12:59.:13:01.

doing everything we can. The guys working on the bridge are throwing

:13:02.:13:05.

everything at it. That either coming down and talking to us. You heard it

:13:06.:13:10.

here, 27th of January. We will hold David to that and I'm sure that will

:13:11.:13:16.

be quite an occasion. Thank you. Don't remember the meat forget, that

:13:17.:13:23.

her to Yorkshire has a stage in Tadcaster.

:13:24.:13:24.

And tomorrow night Lara and I will be live in Hebden Bridge

:13:25.:13:27.

for a special floods anniversary edition of Look North.

:13:28.:13:29.

On the day it's been announced a new drug could be a landmark

:13:30.:13:34.

treatment for multiple sclerosis, BBC Look North can reveal increasing

:13:35.:13:36.

numbers of people have been travelling overseas for a different

:13:37.:13:38.

high-risk therapy because they don't qualify for UK trials.

:13:39.:13:41.

The treatment - which has been undergoing

:13:42.:13:42.

trials in Sheffield - has shown some extraordinary results

:13:43.:13:46.

in a small number of carefully selected patients

:13:47.:13:48.

Multiple sclerosis affects around 100,000 people

:13:49.:13:56.

in the UK and can cause problems with mobility and fatigue.

:13:57.:14:00.

Many are diagnosed with a relapsing form of MS

:14:01.:14:02.

where symptoms flare up and then fade.

:14:03.:14:05.

But others experience progressive forms of the disease,

:14:06.:14:08.

where disability continues to build up over time.

:14:09.:14:10.

Here's our health correspondent Jamie Coulson.

:14:11.:14:15.

Six months ago, Angela Austwick was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

:14:16.:14:20.

The 33-year-old is constantly exhausted

:14:21.:14:23.

feels like she's wearing ankle weights.

:14:24.:14:27.

She's been told her form of the disease is progressive,

:14:28.:14:30.

so her condition will get worse and worse.

:14:31.:14:34.

Everything just came to a standstill.

:14:35.:14:37.

The hopes and plans that we'd hand and everything that

:14:38.:14:42.

we'd always been excited about for the future, it just...

:14:43.:14:46.

Multiple sclerosis is an incurable disease where the body's

:14:47.:14:52.

own immune system attacks the protective layer on nerve cells

:14:53.:14:56.

It causes messages to and from the brain to

:14:57.:15:01.

become disrupted causing problems with vision, mobility,

:15:02.:15:05.

Doctors in Sheffield say patients with multiple sclerosis

:15:06.:15:10.

are showing remarkable improvements...

:15:11.:15:12.

A treatment being trialled in Sheffield as part of an

:15:13.:15:14.

international study that is normally used on cancer patients has given

:15:15.:15:18.

many people hope but not everyone is suitable

:15:19.:15:21.

and it comes with significant risks.

:15:22.:15:24.

It involves harvesting bone marrow stem cells

:15:25.:15:26.

before a patient undergoes chemotherapy to destroy

:15:27.:15:30.

The stem cells are then returned to the body and within a month,

:15:31.:15:35.

the immune system starts to work again or is rebooted.

:15:36.:15:39.

The treatment has seen remarkable results in some people and is most

:15:40.:15:43.

effective in those patients with the relapsing form of MS which is

:15:44.:15:47.

characterised by flare ups followed by periods of remission,

:15:48.:15:51.

but Angela has the progressive form of the disease

:15:52.:15:54.

and so doesn't qualify for the trials here in the UK.

:15:55.:15:59.

So, like others, she's looking abroad for the treatment.

:16:00.:16:01.

This clinic in Mexico has offered to treat Angela in April,

:16:02.:16:04.

The MS Society are unable to comment about

:16:05.:16:11.

individual clinics, but say questions remain about how effective

:16:12.:16:13.

this treatment can be for people with her type of MS.

:16:14.:16:18.

In progressive MS, we haven't seen so many benefits

:16:19.:16:20.

coming from this treatment in the research conducted so far.

:16:21.:16:23.

So we'd like to see more research in this area.

:16:24.:16:25.

But for people now who are considering HSCT,

:16:26.:16:28.

we'd advise them to go and speak to their neurologist.

:16:29.:16:30.

They can talk through all the details and go through the

:16:31.:16:33.

Importantly, this is an aggressive treatment.

:16:34.:16:37.

It comes with significant side effects and risks.

:16:38.:16:40.

This is where my treatment started in Mexico...

:16:41.:16:42.

Kate Dawson has progressive MS and was also turned

:16:43.:16:44.

She travelled to Mexico in June and claims she seen a big improvement.

:16:45.:16:51.

There are things that I literally couldn't do and that I would have

:16:52.:16:55.

to walk round the kitchen holding onto the sides by seven o'clock

:16:56.:16:58.

every day just because I couldn't stand up any longer.

:16:59.:17:02.

I don't have that pain in my back any more.

:17:03.:17:05.

The clinic in Mexico says they are able

:17:06.:17:08.

to treat patients who have been turned down in the UK because they

:17:09.:17:11.

They also say all patients are informed about the procedure

:17:12.:17:15.

I'm scared of not doing anything about it.

:17:16.:17:28.

But I'm not scared of HSCT.

:17:29.:17:30.

Earlier I spoke to one of the men running the MS trial

:17:31.:17:40.

that you've just heard about at Sheffield's Hallamshire hospital.

:17:41.:17:43.

He told me why they were concerned about patients heading

:17:44.:17:46.

It has to be delivered in a credited bone marrow transplant unit.

:17:47.:17:52.

It has to be delivered by specialists with experience

:17:53.:17:57.

both in haematology and transplantation and neurology

:17:58.:18:01.

and the patients have to have the right sort of follow-up.

:18:02.:18:05.

Some patients are returning to the UK just with a letter

:18:06.:18:08.

to their GP and that is not satisfactory.

:18:09.:18:12.

These patients need to be under the care of the right

:18:13.:18:16.

expertise in the right hospitals if it's going

:18:17.:18:19.

So it's the after-care that's the real problem then?

:18:20.:18:23.

Hundreds of MPs have applied for enhanced security measures

:18:24.:18:29.

for their homes and constituency offices since the murder of Jo Cox.

:18:30.:18:32.

After the Batley and Spen MP was killed in June,

:18:33.:18:35.

Two years ago, the bill for this work was ?7700 pounds.

:18:36.:18:42.

The BBC understands it could now top half a million.

:18:43.:18:46.

People who worked in Grimethorpe colliery have gathered

:18:47.:18:49.

in the Barnsley village to pay tribute to miners who died at work.

:18:50.:18:52.

More than 150 miners lost their lives at Grimethorpe

:18:53.:18:55.

between 1894 and when it closed in 1993.

:18:56.:19:00.

More men from the village died in Grimethorpe Colliery

:19:01.:19:03.

A minute's silence was held at the memorial at St Luke's Church.

:19:04.:19:12.

It were a filthy, dirty, horrible job but what made it was the men

:19:13.:19:17.

True men that you could have a laugh with and you could say

:19:18.:19:21.

any thing you wanted to them underground, but once you got

:19:22.:19:24.

out of the pit, you showed total respect for one another and the

:19:25.:19:28.

Yorkshire has taken in more Syrian refugees than any other area

:19:29.:19:37.

in England, according to figures from the Home Office.

:19:38.:19:39.

403 came here in the 12 months up to the end of September under

:19:40.:19:43.

the "vulnerable persons resettlement scheme" - mainly to Leeds,

:19:44.:19:46.

The government pays ?8500 per refugee towards housing,

health care and other costs for their first year in the UK.

:19:53.:19:56.

Dave Edwards has been to meet some of the new arrivals in Bradford

:19:57.:20:01.

For the children of Syria, there have been few causes

:20:02.:20:04.

for celebration over the past five years.

:20:05.:20:06.

But here in Bradford, a smile is never too far

:20:07.:20:12.

away at this Christmas party for young refugees.

:20:13.:20:16.

You feel here safety and the school is good.

:20:17.:20:20.

Just in Syria, like, all your cousins,

:20:21.:20:25.

Like, you're feeling sad just when you think

:20:26.:20:30.

Most of these children wouldn't normally celebrate

:20:31.:20:33.

Some have been through things you'd never want your

:20:34.:20:38.

For them, this is a chance to enjoy themselves.

:20:39.:20:43.

Call the baby Jesus. SHE TRANSLATES

:20:44.:20:46.

The local vicar has been brought

:20:47.:20:47.

Translating is Rosanna, a member of Syria's Christian minority.

:20:48.:20:54.

She arrived in Bradford in September.

:20:55.:20:57.

There is still no water, no electricity. Yet, but they are

:20:58.:21:14.

trying to survive with the minimum. Although I am away from my home,

:21:15.:21:19.

still I have the same Christmas spirit in me. I have this message of

:21:20.:21:27.

peace and love to my community, new community. And this community has

:21:28.:21:30.

given them a warm welcome, organising events like this one. A

:21:31.:21:34.

chance for the children to meet someone new. When they come into the

:21:35.:21:40.

centre, the children will be playing around in the hole. You can see the

:21:41.:21:43.

smiles on their faces and their talking to each other and that's

:21:44.:21:50.

quite hard for filling. You know, you think there's something that

:21:51.:21:53.

I've done today that's been worthwhile. It's thought about 1700

:21:54.:21:58.

Syrian refugees will be settled in Yorkshire by the end of 2018.

:21:59.:22:02.

Hopefully bringing some much-needed joyed to their world.

:22:03.:22:08.

That's lovely, isn't it? Good to see them smiling.

:22:09.:22:10.

Love them or hate them, they're an essential

:22:11.:22:12.

But has the price of your British sprouts shot up?

:22:13.:22:16.

Farmers are warning there are fewer available this year

:22:17.:22:18.

been out on the farm to get his pick of what's left.

:22:19.:22:34.

Turkeys and sprouts adults like Christmas, but farmers like Chris

:22:35.:22:40.

Stark do. But this year, has been tough with his crop attacked by a

:22:41.:22:46.

pest. The diamondbacks moth. Plenty of sprouts here. One or two. As you

:22:47.:22:53.

can see, Laver gets a lead in the crop and then makes holes in the

:22:54.:22:59.

sprouts and that is what causes the damage and it means we can no longer

:23:00.:23:04.

sell the sprouts. Sprouts that passed the quality control and up on

:23:05.:23:07.

the shelves at this green grocers in Wakefield. Sales are always but this

:23:08.:23:14.

time of year. We have the in going, on stalks? Yes, how do you think

:23:15.:23:18.

they grow? What a beautiful, beautiful thing that is. You can

:23:19.:23:23.

have them on different sizes as well. When you think about it, they

:23:24.:23:27.

are very slimming as well. All the good things in them. Foods expert

:23:28.:23:31.

Annie knows how to spruce up a sprout. I'd wait to see her at her

:23:32.:23:36.

North Yorkshire home. I've got a few jazzy wasted pep them out. I have

:23:37.:23:40.

part cooked the sprouts so they've been in boiling water for three to

:23:41.:23:43.

five minutes and I have called them down. And then this is a spicy kind

:23:44.:23:50.

of marinade. Some soy sauce, water, soft brown sugar, star unease,

:23:51.:23:59.

cinnamon sticks -- star anise. I've been at the sherry already! But it's

:24:00.:24:04.

allowed, it's Christmas. And some ginger. And then some spring onions.

:24:05.:24:08.

Just look at that, the smell is gorgeous, isn't it? Really lovely.

:24:09.:24:12.

And then in Boulder spring onions just to add a little bit of a kick

:24:13.:24:19.

to them. Ie, you know, defy anybody to say that they do not like sprouts

:24:20.:24:23.

when they have tasted those. The final one that I've got is a little

:24:24.:24:31.

bit of granny Smith apple. Really? Yes, with bacon and sprouts. And

:24:32.:24:35.

that's it. Who wouldn't like sprouts when they are cooked like that, Ian?

:24:36.:24:40.

That looks gorgeous. Let's see the finished results. I couldn't say

:24:41.:24:45.

anything else with you stood next to me, but they are absolutely

:24:46.:24:51.

delicious. Who knew sprouts could be so delicious? You don't know what

:24:52.:24:55.

you're missing, viewers, honestly. Thank you, Annie. Merry Christmas.

:24:56.:24:57.

And Merry Christmas to you too. Delicious sprouts? Who'd have

:24:58.:25:05.

thought we'd have been learning that.

:25:06.:25:09.

The one in the office would know I have man flu, but lots of wind

:25:10.:25:16.

tomorrow. There are warnings in place. It looks like a very windy

:25:17.:25:20.

Christmas weekend but a short little thing because next week looks set to

:25:21.:25:25.

be much,. Fine weather on offer. But there is the one in tomorrow.

:25:26.:25:31.

Localised deal. Oakley 70 mph for a times bright start turning very wet

:25:32.:25:35.

from the West courtesy of this very act of cold front that will come

:25:36.:25:38.

through from during Friday afternoon. You can see the number of

:25:39.:25:41.

isobars they're suggesting it's going to be extremely windy out

:25:42.:25:45.

there. Christmas Day, well, still a number of isobars in there but the

:25:46.:25:49.

other feature is how exceptionally mild it is going to be with

:25:50.:25:53.

temperatures perhaps 13 or 14 Celsius. That is very mild for this

:25:54.:25:58.

time of year. We have had one or two showers in the last few hours. We

:25:59.:26:02.

have picked the story up on a mostly fine note. Still be isolated shower

:26:03.:26:07.

possible pushing in from the West. Though shower was gradually fizzling

:26:08.:26:11.

out from the north and west Georgia so where you have shelter from the

:26:12.:26:17.

wind, there could be a ground frost. Temperatures perhaps down to two

:26:18.:26:22.

Celsius or one Celsius across sheltered parts of north Yorkshire.

:26:23.:26:25.

So the sun rises in the morning at 8:23am. Here are of the high water

:26:26.:26:32.

tanks. A bright start in the East with some sunshine but it won't be

:26:33.:26:35.

long before the clouds rattle in from the Atlantic bringing a bit of

:26:36.:26:39.

rain to the gales. There is the cold front. Watch it coming in bringing

:26:40.:26:43.

very heavy and squally winds and rain. It does go out of the way

:26:44.:26:48.

fairly rapidly by tomorrow evening and we are back to clear spells and

:26:49.:26:52.

scattered showers. But I suspect the main feature of the weather will be

:26:53.:26:55.

the strength of the wind is so temperatures very academic and nine

:26:56.:26:59.

or 10 Celsius but when you add in those 60 or 70 mph gusts, it will

:27:00.:27:04.

not feel very mild out of doors. Friday night, clear spells and

:27:05.:27:09.

scattered showers and Christmas Eve is not looking too bad. It is a day

:27:10.:27:14.

of sunshine with a few showers. Most showers in the West. The best of the

:27:15.:27:18.

fine weather further east. Look at these temperatures are Christmas

:27:19.:27:23.

Day. Absolutely no chance of a white Christmas, he says! A strong wind

:27:24.:27:27.

with gales in places and then boxing day onwards looks fine for next

:27:28.:27:29.

week. That is the forecast. We will hold

:27:30.:27:33.

you to that one! Here is a sight and sound to gladden

:27:34.:27:38.

the heart. The bells of York Minster. Quality, good night.
