A mother and her 13-year-old son have died after being stabbed

The boy's father survived the attack and he's being treated in hospital.

Police were called to the house in Greyhound Lane this morning

where they found the family with severe stab wounds.

A short time later, a Land Rover taken from the house was stopped

This evening, we've received these pictures.

You can see the Land Rover being pursued by the police.

Two officers suffered minor injuries when their car was rammed

by the Land Rover which then crashed into a garden wall.

Our reporter Nicola Beckford is in Stourbridge right now.

Well, tonight Nick this detached family home in a quiet part of

two people who died here today have two people who died here today have

been named locally as Tracey Wilkinson and her son, Pierce. Her

husband, Peter, is in hospital in a critical, but stable condition. Now,

we understand that this house has a sophisticated CCTV system and police

were seen to take away what was thought to be part of that system.

Our correspondent Peter Wilson has this report.

The emergency services were met with a scene of horror and heartbreak. A

mother stabbed to death. Her 13-year-old son lay dying inside the

family home. The boy's father had stab wounds to his chest and back

and was found in the back garden. He remains in a critical condition.

They were inflicted by a man known to the family, but not a family

relative. Tragically, there was nothing that could be done to save

the woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene. A Land Rover Discovery

taken from the house in Stourbridge crashed into a brick wall in nearby

Norton Road driven by a man in his 20s. He has been arrested by the

police. The Ambulance Service say that everything was done to try and

save the life of the 13-year-old boy. A child with very serious

injuries was in cardiac arrest at the scene. He was treated very

quickly and given life-saving treatment before being taken to

Birmingham Children's Hospital. Sadly, despite the best efforts of

our staff on scene, and those within the hospital, the child has died.

The house in Greyhound Lane Is the home of Tracey and Peter Wilkinson,

he is a 47-year-old company director. A close friend who has

known him for ten years spoke to me as news began to break that this

successful Black Country businessman has lost both his wife and his

teenage son. I saw him just a few weeks back and what can I say? Like

any other person, living in the local area. Very friendly,

supportive, offered me a drink actually. So we were just chatting

and he was looking to help us as I said, the Conservatives in the area.

And I have been, he has been helping me for years. This afternoon, the

Land Rover was taken away and the main road reopened. The young man

who took the Land Rover Discovery appears to have been driving around

the streets of Stourbridge for more than 30 minutes. He was pursued by

the police. He has driven into that brick wall, but he has collided with

a police patrol car. Tonight more flowers laid at the scene. The

message on one of the bouquets speaks of an amazing family.

Nicola, how has the community reacted? Well, people simply can't

believe what has happened here today. One woman, who didn't want to

be named said she saw a helicopter circling and also the emergency

services running. So she knew something serious had happened. The

reaction is probably the same as reaction is probably the same as

everyone else in Stourbridge, absolute shock and horror that

anything like this can happen in someone's normal day in my

constituency. It's a truly tragic and awful event. There has there

been any word from Pierce's school? Yes, well, Pierce was in year eight

at Redhill School in Stourbridge and they said they would provide support

for all the pupils and staff who needed and guidance to families on

how to support their children. They said that their thoughts and prayers

are with those who have been affected. Nicola, thank you.

of Stafford supplies water for over 200 South Staffs water customers

and the treatment plant itself near Lichfield turns that reservoir

commissioned it in 1952. It is is our ultraviolet

treatment plant. One of our latest investments

in order to enhance the quality of water we provide

to our customers. So large tanks that were used

to store water on site will now be converted

to a new ultraviolet Work began in 2015 and four new UV

reactors have been installed without interrupting the water

supply to South Staffs customers. This is one of the UV tubes that

will be cleaning the water. It is worth ?250 and there

are 30 in each UV reactor, that's this bit here

with a big black cap. The UV tubes clean the water

and they allow South Staffs to reduce traditional chemical

treatments like adding chlorine. Water flows over the ultraviolet

lamps as the final stage of This new facility is one

of the largest in the UK, but similar technology on a smaller
