Welcome to North West Tonight with Roger Johnson and Annabel Tiffin. | :00:00. | :00:00.
Our top story: Four men are charged over the deaths of two young cousins | :00:00. | :00:07.
in a suspected hit and run crash in Oldham. The girls, | :00:08. | :00:10.
who were 11 and 12, were hit by a car as they crossed | :00:11. | :00:13.
Also tonight: The anti-fracking leaflet slammed by regulators, | :00:14. | :00:22.
who said its claims were not backed by facts. | :00:23. | :00:30.
They were exaggerating and in fact scaremongering among people in | :00:31. | :00:34.
Lancashire. "a true British hero" - | :00:35. | :00:36.
commemorations at Coniston for Donald Campbell, | :00:37. | :00:39.
who died 50 years ago today. And the story of the forgotten | :00:40. | :00:42.
footballer - The Liverpool man who became England's | :00:43. | :00:45.
first non-white player. Four men have appeared in court over | :00:46. | :00:58.
the deaths of two young girls from Oldham who were hit by a car | :00:59. | :01:01.
as they crossed the road. 11-year-old Helena Kotlarova | :01:02. | :01:04.
and her cousin Janeta Krokova, who was 12, were struck | :01:05. | :01:06.
on Ashton Road on New Years Eve. Yunus Mulla is at the scene | :01:07. | :01:14.
for us this evening. Greater Manchester Police had | :01:15. | :01:31.
arrested a number of men following this incident on new year's Eve, | :01:32. | :01:37.
which claimed the lives of Helene and her 11-year-old cousin Janeta. | :01:38. | :01:45.
Well, today, they have said they have charged a 38-year-old man. He | :01:46. | :01:51.
has been charged with two counts of death by dangerous driving. | :01:52. | :01:57.
Conspiracy to perverting the course of justice, failing to stop the | :01:58. | :02:02.
scene of a collision and failing to report the incident. He has appeared | :02:03. | :02:08.
in court on those charges. Just reminders of the background to all | :02:09. | :02:17.
of this. Well, on new year's Eve, Janeta and Helene had gone to the | :02:18. | :02:24.
shops with a larger group of friends when they came out of the shop they | :02:25. | :02:28.
were crossing the road holding hands when they were struck by a car. When | :02:29. | :02:35.
police arrived, they suspected a hit and run incident and a number of | :02:36. | :02:41.
appeals were made following that. In fact, Helene -- the parents of | :02:42. | :02:49.
Helene came to the scene and they tried to help their daughter, but | :02:50. | :02:53.
there was nothing they could do. And today, three other men were also | :02:54. | :02:59.
charged. Yes, that is right. Three other men, an 18-year-old, a | :03:00. | :03:04.
49-year-old, and a 50-year-old were charged with conspiracy to | :03:05. | :03:06.
perverting the course of justice. They also appeared in court today. | :03:07. | :03:15.
Information was relayed to them in Hungary and all four men were then | :03:16. | :03:19.
into custody. Thank you very much indeed. | :03:20. | :03:21.
Environmental campaigners Friends of the Earth have promised not | :03:22. | :03:26.
to repeat misleading claims made in an advert against fracking, | :03:27. | :03:28.
according to the Advertising Standards authority. | :03:29. | :03:33.
It follows a complaint by the energy firm, Cuadrilla. | :03:34. | :03:38.
Friends of the Earth say they'll not be reproducing the ad. | :03:39. | :03:52.
Here is our environment correspondent. | :03:53. | :03:56.
Strong messages, and a strong reaction. | :03:57. | :03:58.
This leaflet was produced by Friends of the Earth and distributed | :03:59. | :04:00.
It claimed fracking chemicals can cause cancer and other health | :04:01. | :04:04.
It also claimed they could pollute drinking water and that fracking | :04:05. | :04:07.
would cause property prices to plummet. | :04:08. | :04:10.
As did this local resident, a former geologist. | :04:11. | :04:15.
They said the claims could not be substantiated. | :04:16. | :04:24.
It was so blatantly obvious to us that they were exaggerating and in | :04:25. | :04:31.
fact scaremongering among people in Lancashire. And also wider in the | :04:32. | :04:35.
attempt to get fundraising for this. The Advertising Standards | :04:36. | :04:36.
authority investigated and asked Friends of the Earth | :04:37. | :04:38.
to wthdraw the ad. In a statement it said, | :04:39. | :04:42.
"We have told Friends to make claims about the likely | :04:43. | :04:44.
effects of fracking on the health of local populations, | :04:45. | :04:49.
drinking water, or property prices in the absence of | :04:50. | :04:52.
adequate evidence." Other anti fracking campaigners said | :04:53. | :04:57.
they wouldn't be deterred. I am absolutely confident that | :04:58. | :05:07.
Friends of the Earth will continue their campaign, just as we will. | :05:08. | :05:11.
Just as the grassroots groups will carry on their campaign. | :05:12. | :05:14.
Three years ago, it was Cuadrilla that was forced | :05:15. | :05:19.
by the ASA to withdraw a leaflet for over stating it used | :05:20. | :05:22.
Over the next few days, Cuadrilla are due to prepare this | :05:23. | :05:34.
site to test fracking here later in the year. | :05:35. | :05:37.
The ASA ruling might not change minds, but Cuadrilla says it hopes | :05:38. | :05:39.
the outcome would stop campaigners using misleading material. | :05:40. | :05:44.
Rose Dickinson is from Friends of the Earth. | :05:45. | :05:51.
She joins us live from London. Thank you very much indeed for your time | :05:52. | :05:59.
this evening. The ASA said there was no evidence for these claims, so did | :06:00. | :06:04.
you make them up? The ASA have not made a ruling against us. Actually, | :06:05. | :06:09.
the ASA have dropped the case against Friends of the Earth. | :06:10. | :06:11.
Friends of the Earth stand by everything that we have said about | :06:12. | :06:14.
fracking. In fact, the evidence is mounting against fracking all of the | :06:15. | :06:19.
time, showing that it does pose risks to people and the environment | :06:20. | :06:25.
and the climate. But do you have evidence to prove that? Because they | :06:26. | :06:27.
said there was no evidence to back up the claims you have made. In our | :06:28. | :06:32.
formal agreement with the ASA, they have dropped the case against us and | :06:33. | :06:37.
we stand by absolutely everything we said. You have agreed not to repeat | :06:38. | :06:41.
the claims, so surely you accept that they are right. What we have | :06:42. | :06:45.
said is that together all the leaflet, which was produce around a | :06:46. | :06:49.
year and a half ago, will not be produced any mark and that is what | :06:50. | :06:53.
we have agreed. Do you have evidence to prove that fracking causes | :06:54. | :06:56.
cancer? Absolutely. Everything that we say is backed up by evidence. We | :06:57. | :07:01.
sent over 100 references to back up everything we said. You sent it to | :07:02. | :07:06.
the ASA, so why on earth do they not believe you, then? They have not | :07:07. | :07:10.
come back to is the point that we're raised in that leaflet. The point | :07:11. | :07:13.
that they are making is that the leaflet will not be circulated but | :07:14. | :07:16.
actually I think this is a distraction from the main point and | :07:17. | :07:19.
a destruction by Cuadrilla who have complained against Friends of the | :07:20. | :07:22.
Earth when the fact remains that people in much do not want fracking | :07:23. | :07:25.
and that is the point that we should be talking about now. This leaflet | :07:26. | :07:33.
at a picture of Grasmere on it. There are no plans to frag their and | :07:34. | :07:38.
you could not frag there. That picture was no station of the | :07:39. | :07:41.
beautiful input countryside that Cuadrilla and other fracking | :07:42. | :07:46.
countries -- companies would like to use. There are plans to use Sherwood | :07:47. | :07:52.
Forest in other places around the north-west and the point remains | :07:53. | :07:55.
that fracking poses a risk to people and it should not go ahead anywhere. | :07:56. | :08:01.
Three years ago, as we said, Cuadrilla had to withdraw a leaflet | :08:02. | :08:05.
of their own. The fact is, there are some people watching this to support | :08:06. | :08:08.
fracking, there are some people who do not. But if neither side is | :08:09. | :08:12.
completely transparent in making claims that are backed up and are | :08:13. | :08:18.
100% true, how on earth can people make an informed decision for | :08:19. | :08:22.
themselves? As I said, everything that we have said in a leaflet has | :08:23. | :08:25.
been 100% backed up by many different studies. You can sit there | :08:26. | :08:30.
and say that as much as you like, but you have agreed not to repeat | :08:31. | :08:35.
the claims. That is what the ASA have told us. I think if we take a | :08:36. | :08:39.
step back from this and look at what is happening around the world in | :08:40. | :08:41.
places where there have been fracking. In New York state, they | :08:42. | :08:45.
banned fracking due to be significant risk to public health. | :08:46. | :08:48.
It has been banned or halted in France and the Netherlands and | :08:49. | :08:53.
Germany. That is not for no reason. It is because the risk that it poses | :08:54. | :08:56.
to people and the environment and that is what we are sailing. There | :08:57. | :09:00.
are lots of places where it has not been banned. We are very grateful to | :09:01. | :09:06.
you. Apologies as well for some technical issues we were having | :09:07. | :09:12.
there. Detectives have revealed more information about the rape of a | :09:13. | :09:15.
12-year-old girl in Manchester in November. The attack happened as the | :09:16. | :09:19.
girl was walking along Chapel Street near to the horseshoe pub. | :09:20. | :09:20.
The man, who was about 6ft tall and wearing dark clothing, | :09:21. | :09:22.
attacked the girl as she was walking along Chapel Street | :09:23. | :09:25.
He then dragged her into an alleyway. | :09:26. | :09:27.
Officers say there is nothing that definitively links this attack | :09:28. | :09:30.
with two others in the area that happened within weeks of each other. | :09:31. | :09:33.
We are doing an awful lot of reassurance work. I have patrols out | :09:34. | :09:39.
in the area. We are going to be visiting local schools, providing | :09:40. | :09:42.
reassurance messages. I am already in dialogue with the community | :09:43. | :09:46.
association and other community groups to start having that dialogue | :09:47. | :09:48.
and providing reassurance to people. Police on Merseyside say a fire | :09:49. | :09:52.
at a Bromborough charity shop is no Emergency services | :09:53. | :09:55.
were called to the shop It is now thought to have been | :09:56. | :09:58.
caused by an electrical fault. The rail union RMT is to ballot | :09:59. | :10:02.
its members on Arriva rail north for industrial action | :10:03. | :10:05.
in a dispute over pay. The ballot of 2,600 | :10:06. | :10:09.
members will open next Arriva Rail North has | :10:10. | :10:11.
so far not commented. Less than four years ago, | :10:12. | :10:21.
the East Lancashire Hospitals Trust was put in "special measures" | :10:22. | :10:23.
following the Keogh Review into Now in a big turnaround, | :10:24. | :10:26.
the Care Quality Commission have rated the trust as "good" overall | :10:27. | :10:30.
in their latest inspection. They've praised staff | :10:31. | :10:32.
for their commitment to patients In 2013, hospitals in | :10:33. | :10:34.
East Lancashire were in and placed into special | :10:35. | :10:42.
measures - death rates high East Lancashire NHS Trust, were the | :10:43. | :10:54.
panel issued highlights of poor governance and inadequate staffing | :10:55. | :10:56.
levels and high mortality levels, patients and their families | :10:57. | :10:58.
complained of a lack of compassion. It's been a difficult few | :10:59. | :11:02.
years, but the latest Care Quality Commission report has | :11:03. | :11:05.
rated the trust as good overall. We have put more doctors and nurses | :11:06. | :11:12.
on wards and we happily looked at everything that we do and it is good | :11:13. | :11:16.
for staff when they come in every day and work as possible as they can | :11:17. | :11:18.
to ensure good care. the Blackburn and Burnley Hospitals | :11:19. | :11:20.
in September were follow ups to wider checks in 2015, | :11:21. | :11:23.
and found the trust had a clear vision with staff dedicated | :11:24. | :11:26.
to achieving the best I think it is just all that has been | :11:27. | :11:36.
introduced over the last two years. We have new leadership. I think that | :11:37. | :11:40.
has helped, communication from the top to the ground floor. And that | :11:41. | :11:45.
has been massive for morale, I think. Pat Dixon has been in | :11:46. | :11:50.
hospital over the New Year. She says she has been impressed with her | :11:51. | :11:54.
care. Wonderful. Really good. Can't complain. The trust is turning a | :11:55. | :11:57.
corner. there was still a reliance on costly | :11:58. | :12:05.
agency staff, with some wards falling below the 80% fill rates | :12:06. | :12:09.
for registered nurses. They found the emergency department | :12:10. | :12:11.
continued to find the four hour wait target challenging, | :12:12. | :12:14.
with over 1500 ambulance handovers taking | :12:15. | :12:15.
longer than 30 minutes. There was a time a good few years | :12:16. | :12:20.
ago where people were pretty unhappy about what was going on in their | :12:21. | :12:23.
local hospitals. I do not see that now. Most people are pleased with | :12:24. | :12:27.
the treatment that they get. If there are complaints, it is about | :12:28. | :12:30.
minor things such as car parking and so on, which loom large in some | :12:31. | :12:34.
people's might, but the actual medical care is now very good | :12:35. | :12:35.
indeed, I think. There are still improvements to be | :12:36. | :12:42.
made, but after turbulent times, this Trust is showing | :12:43. | :12:45.
signs of recovery. on Coniston Water today to remember | :12:46. | :12:57.
Donald Campbell. It's exactly 50 years since he lost | :12:58. | :13:04.
his life there attempting His daughter Gina was | :13:05. | :13:07.
among those who joined a pilgrimage to the site | :13:08. | :13:10.
of the tragedy early this morning. Our chief reporter Dave | :13:11. | :13:13.
Guest went with them, and he met a man who recalls | :13:14. | :13:15.
the events of that fateful day It was a very similar day to today. | :13:16. | :13:23.
The lake was perhaps a bit calmer than it is at the moment. You could | :13:24. | :13:27.
hear the jet engine. Sure enough, Bluebird came out and the rest is | :13:28. | :13:33.
history. Robin Cooper was a lad of 11, watching Donald Campbell's | :13:34. | :13:38.
ill-fated record attempt. What went through your mind as an 11-year-old | :13:39. | :13:42.
boy when he was that boat starting to turn? First of all, it was just | :13:43. | :13:49.
shocked. And then hoping that Donald Campbell would be taken from the | :13:50. | :13:53.
lake OK. Of course, he was not OK and it was to be several decades | :13:54. | :13:58.
before his body and the wreckage of his boat were recovered from the | :13:59. | :14:04.
murky depths. Today, at Don, people gathered to pay their respects and | :14:05. | :14:07.
to remember the events of 50 years ago. Aboard a boat bearing his name, | :14:08. | :14:13.
admirers of Donald Campbell set out for the spot where he lost his life | :14:14. | :14:17.
attempting to break his own water speed record. We are all speed | :14:18. | :14:25.
enthusiasts, but we also enthusiasts of Donald Campbell and what he stood | :14:26. | :14:30.
for and what he achieved in speed record-breaking. For his daughter | :14:31. | :14:33.
and Jena, this was the most poignant of journeys. He was an incredibly | :14:34. | :14:38.
brave and courageous man and I was full of pride and humility and to | :14:39. | :14:44.
represent my family here today. So the Campbell is now on its way out | :14:45. | :14:49.
to the exact site of the crash and at 851, the time when Donald | :14:50. | :14:52.
Campbell suffered that fatal accident, the vessel will come to a | :14:53. | :14:57.
halt and flowers will be laid on the water in his memory. It is an | :14:58. | :15:01.
amazing day in the life of the Campbell dynasty and for me to be | :15:02. | :15:05.
involved in that, to be here, it is an amazing privilege as well. Why do | :15:06. | :15:10.
they get is important to remember this anniversary? It is because he | :15:11. | :15:14.
is a hero. We do not have British heroes any more and Donald Campbell | :15:15. | :15:19.
was one of those heroes. He is a hero, isn't he? Absolute hero. And | :15:20. | :15:27.
so at 851 precisely, Geena Campbell cast to flowers on the water in her | :15:28. | :15:32.
own act of remembrance. My dad is still alive in my mind and in my | :15:33. | :15:39.
memory. How would you describe those emotions? It may be half a century | :15:40. | :15:45.
ago, but the legend of Donald Campbell lives on here. Remarkable | :15:46. | :15:56.
story. What an anniversary. We have legendary football. Dixie Dean, | :15:57. | :16:01.
Stanley Matthews, Tommy Lawton. They are some of the best-known names | :16:02. | :16:03.
from the football of the 1940s. Soo, who grew up in | :16:04. | :16:11.
Liverpool and died in 1991, was the first non white man | :16:12. | :16:14.
to play for England. But his family believes | :16:15. | :16:17.
he's been forgotten It's 1944 and a wartime crowd hungry | :16:18. | :16:19.
for football packs Hampden Park to watch Scotland take on the Auld | :16:20. | :16:24.
Enemy. England's tricky Number 6 | :16:25. | :16:28.
is Frank Soo, his memory still honoured by relatives | :16:29. | :16:31.
in Liverpool, but not, it seems, It is a little bit frustrating when | :16:32. | :16:45.
you are the grand niece of the man who played for England and he was | :16:46. | :16:51.
the first Asian player to play for the national side and yet he does | :16:52. | :16:52.
not have the recognition. Born in Buxton, brought | :16:53. | :16:54.
up in Liverpool, Soo's mother was English, | :16:55. | :16:56.
his father a Chinese sailor. Here he is during the War | :16:57. | :16:58.
with the Manchester City goalkeeper, Frank Swift, and with future City | :16:59. | :17:01.
and United managers, The great Stanley | :17:02. | :17:03.
Matthews is there too. And here he is on the right | :17:04. | :17:08.
lining up for England. But because he was mixed race | :17:09. | :17:15.
there was resistance to him There was a cartoon portraying him | :17:16. | :17:30.
as a Chinese coolie. It is not a very nice image to portray somebody | :17:31. | :17:35.
at all and it said do we want this kind of person playing football for | :17:36. | :17:36.
our national side? Now a football historian is trying | :17:37. | :17:38.
to restore Frank Soo The more I learned about him and his | :17:39. | :17:46.
life and his achievements throughout his career, I feel he is an | :17:47. | :17:50.
important figure in his own right, irrespective of his ethnic | :17:51. | :17:51.
background. Frank Soo ended his career | :17:52. | :17:51.
in football management, Respected as a player | :17:52. | :17:53.
by his contemporaries, he now stands out as one | :17:54. | :17:57.
of the first, but by no means the last, to face | :17:58. | :18:00.
discrimination in football. Fascinating story. He was in the | :18:01. | :18:16.
south of the region, South Cheshire. He may have played for the mighty | :18:17. | :18:19.
Potters with great distinction. Manchester City midfielder | :18:20. | :18:21.
Fernandinho will serve a four match suspension after the appeal | :18:22. | :18:23.
against his latest red The Brazilian was sent | :18:24. | :18:25.
off for this challenge on Johann Berg Gudmundsson | :18:26. | :18:28.
in Monday's home match against Burnley, his third | :18:29. | :18:30.
dismissal in six games. He'll miss the FA Cup third | :18:31. | :18:32.
round clash with West Ham on Friday along with Premier League games | :18:33. | :18:35.
against Everton, Spurs And sticking with disciplinary | :18:36. | :18:37.
matters, the controversial red card awarded to West Ham's Sofiane | :18:38. | :18:42.
Feghouli in Monday's match against Manchester United | :18:43. | :18:45.
HAS been rescinded. Manchester boxer Anthony | :18:46. | :18:46.
Crolla has been given Preston host Arsenal on Saturday. | :18:47. | :19:11.
And they think they can cause an upset. It is a fixture full of | :19:12. | :19:15.
history and a match that for North end fans, certainly whet the | :19:16. | :19:22.
appetite. We will win. I do not think Preston will win. That is not | :19:23. | :19:29.
the attitude. 3-1. You are confident, and you? For football | :19:30. | :19:32.
historians, this is the battle of the invincible. The team in the | :19:33. | :19:38.
1880s were the originals, followed more than 100 years later by an | :19:39. | :19:42.
Arsenal title winning team that also went to full league season unbeaten. | :19:43. | :19:47.
We were the original invincible. Arsenal have taken that of us are | :19:48. | :19:51.
little better but we have fantastic history and tradition and tradition | :19:52. | :19:54.
and this is the next stage of we can beat Arsenal on Saturday night. When | :19:55. | :19:59.
Sir Tom Finney was in his pomp in the 1950s and 60s, Preston North End | :20:00. | :20:03.
they will have been favourites to beat Arsenal, but for this team, it | :20:04. | :20:06.
is about testing themselves against some of the best players in the | :20:07. | :20:09.
world. Looking forward to challenging yourself and to see | :20:10. | :20:14.
where you are as a young player myself, my development, to see if I | :20:15. | :20:19.
can handle it against the big boys. But just how many of the Gunners | :20:20. | :20:25.
superstars will play? This was a last-gasp 3-3 draw at Bournemouth | :20:26. | :20:31.
last night. This festive programme is likely to see Arsenal putt-mac | :20:32. | :20:35.
manager rest several of his top players. It is complicated. But we | :20:36. | :20:45.
have to shut up and cope with it. They will think if it is a | :20:46. | :20:48.
competition that they can go and when that some players will be | :20:49. | :20:54.
rested. So mad that magma matter who they put out, they will be | :20:55. | :20:57.
international players and we will be up against it. Preston pushed | :20:58. | :21:02.
Manchester United hard a couple of seasons ago. Eventually losing 3-1 | :21:03. | :21:07.
to the Reds. Like United, Arsenal will know that on their own ground, | :21:08. | :21:11.
North end will be confident they can upset the odds. Big game. Moving on | :21:12. | :21:21.
to boxing. Manchester has been confirmed as the venue for another | :21:22. | :21:23.
world title fight in the spring. Manchester boxer Anthony | :21:24. | :21:24.
Crolla has been given a chance to regain his WBA | :21:25. | :21:26.
world lightweight title. A rematch against current champion | :21:27. | :21:29.
Hor-hay Linares has been confirmed Chester Zoo is showing off it's top | :21:30. | :21:31.
ten babies of the last year. The zoo say they're the result | :21:32. | :21:44.
of a successful project It's proud of its efforts | :21:45. | :21:47.
to breed rhinos, But it's also boasting | :21:48. | :21:50.
about its successes with other, This from our Cheshire | :21:51. | :21:54.
reporter, Mark Edwardson. Gabe the eastern black | :21:55. | :22:01.
Rhino, having his lunch. In the way any 11 month | :22:02. | :22:03.
old toddler would. He is really important because he | :22:04. | :22:15.
forms part of the European reading programme for critically engaged | :22:16. | :22:16.
species. There are only 700 left | :22:17. | :22:18.
on the plains of Africa. In many ways, it is sad that animals | :22:19. | :22:26.
are disappearing so quickly in the wild but it makes zoos more relevant | :22:27. | :22:30.
in many ways. Species like this are protected in zoos and populations | :22:31. | :22:33.
are growing that ensues, unlike elsewhere. | :22:34. | :22:34.
Gabe's already half his mother's three | :22:35. | :22:36.
We have been members of the Chester zoo for a while and this is why we | :22:37. | :22:44.
are members, just to see the work they do here, because there will not | :22:45. | :22:48.
be any left for us to see in the wild. I think it is a great zoo and | :22:49. | :22:50.
it has a big hole to play. Also on Chester Zoo's top ten list | :22:51. | :22:52.
are Asian elephants, Chester zoo says conservation here | :22:53. | :23:10.
is not just about the headline grabbers like Easter and black rhino | :23:11. | :23:14.
or giraffe. It is about all of the animal. But it is also for things | :23:15. | :23:23.
like reptiles and creepy crawlies that we find inside. | :23:24. | :23:26.
Deep beneath the tropical house, a world first. | :23:27. | :23:28.
despite the looks they're not lizards, they predate the dinosaurs | :23:29. | :23:36.
and home is a small number of New Zealand Islands. | :23:37. | :23:39.
These are the first born in captivity anywhere in the world. | :23:40. | :23:43.
I have been here 40 years now and I thought I have got to do this in my | :23:44. | :23:50.
lifetime at the zoo. It was the one thing I really needed to be able to | :23:51. | :23:52.
save. We have managed to achieve. And then there's the Monserrat | :23:53. | :23:54.
Tarantula breeding programme. If you don't care about them, who | :23:55. | :24:03.
else will? Some people might be frightened and scared but they are | :24:04. | :24:07.
beautiful and fascinating. The world needs them. They are important. | :24:08. | :24:11.
Otherwise, you would be overrun with other types of bugs. Come on. | :24:12. | :24:13.
to reintroduce endangered species back into the wild have | :24:14. | :24:16.
I do not like spiders. I can't look when they are on. Stop it. It is not | :24:17. | :24:30.
funny. You know I do not like spiders. It is going to be really | :24:31. | :24:35.
cold. You will need your thermals. Yes, you will. By the way, I love | :24:36. | :24:40.
spiders. Don't like snakes. Once again, Diane has left me with some | :24:41. | :24:45.
not so good news. Every time she takes a day off, I have to tell you | :24:46. | :24:49.
the story. Once again, it is not looking particularly warm. That cold | :24:50. | :24:54.
air pushes them for tomorrow and once we headed into the weekend, we | :24:55. | :24:59.
will see the milder air pushing back in. Temperatures at around 6-7 C | :25:00. | :25:06.
tomorrow. Look at today. Look at the temperatures we will get for | :25:07. | :25:09.
tomorrow. Three Celsius during the daytime. Thankfully, it is just for | :25:10. | :25:13.
one day only because as we headed to Friday, we will head back into | :25:14. | :25:18.
normal service. Tonight, however, it will be mostly dry. Lots of clear | :25:19. | :25:22.
skies. Frost forming already. It will be a hard frost. Lots of | :25:23. | :25:26.
gardeners and rovers beware because the temperatures by dawn will drop | :25:27. | :25:31.
as low as minus two Celsius or minus three Celsius in towns and cities. | :25:32. | :25:36.
So tomorrow will be a bright day but bitterly cold. You are going to need | :25:37. | :25:39.
to scrape those windscreens in the morning because the hard frost is | :25:40. | :25:45.
around first thing. Bitterly cold but a dry day. Brighter through the | :25:46. | :25:49.
afternoon. Maybe turning Haiti by late afternoon and that frost | :25:50. | :25:51.
returning. The temperature is tomorrow will be struggle to | :25:52. | :25:55.
recover. Look at this. We're looking at the top temperature of 2- for | :25:56. | :26:02.
tomorrow. Tomorrow night it begins to change. We start off quite cold | :26:03. | :26:08.
and then we see a warm front pushing in. It pushes in clouds initially | :26:09. | :26:12.
and then it will push in this band of rain by dawn. Tomorrow night, | :26:13. | :26:16.
temperatures will be well above freezing. So as we head into Friday, | :26:17. | :26:20.
we will see the wind is picking up and a band of rain pushing in and | :26:21. | :26:24.
that band of rain could be heavy from time to time and as I have | :26:25. | :26:28.
said, the temperatures thankfully recovering back to what they should | :26:29. | :26:31.
be for this time of year and actually as we head into the | :26:32. | :26:34.
weekend, high pressure is in charge of our weather and the temperatures | :26:35. | :26:37.
are back to where they should be. Very cold before that to get | :26:38. | :26:46.
through. A couple of children wanted to make snowballs and scraped the | :26:47. | :26:50.
frost of the paintwork of a car. Not a good idea. Have a lovely evening. | :26:51. | :26:57.
Thank you very much for driving us. Don't do that home. Goodbye by. | :26:58. | :27:08. |
