Good evening, welcome to North West Tonight | :00:07. | :00:08.
with Annabel Tiffin and Roger Johnson. | :00:09. | :00:09.
Parents and teachers celebrate a coup against the head | :00:10. | :00:13.
Hours later, the council shut it down. | :00:14. | :00:20.
The council says it acted to safeguard children, | :00:21. | :00:22.
Tributes to the veteran Manchester MP Sir Gerald Kaufman, | :00:23. | :00:28.
Anger after claims hunt hounds pursued a fox through gardens | :00:29. | :00:34.
And there was literally hound after hound, 15-20 hounds, | :00:35. | :00:41.
running down our driveway, and bolted through the gate there. | :00:42. | :00:46.
The big Brexit balancing act - we ask what will it | :00:47. | :00:51.
They told us we couldn't have crooked cucumbers, crooked bananas. | :00:52. | :00:57.
A top-performing primary school was closed down | :00:58. | :01:19.
indefinitely this afternoon after a mutiny by parents and staff. | :01:20. | :01:24.
They were filmed drinking in the school, singing | :01:25. | :01:26.
football-style chants about the headteacher. | :01:27. | :01:29.
Bollin Primary School is in Bowdon - one of the region's | :01:30. | :01:32.
In the past week, the tensions between staff, parents and the head | :01:33. | :01:40.
have erupted into strike action and demonstrations. | :01:41. | :01:42.
Party time for parents and teachers. Celebrating, they thought, the | :01:43. | :01:57.
departure of their school's heads, Michelle Brindle, last Friday. | :01:58. | :02:04.
THEY chant Except, the council has confirmed, | :02:05. | :02:08.
Mrs Brindle hasn't been suspended or sacked. This is a school where | :02:09. | :02:11.
parents, staff and even governors are divided about the head teacher. | :02:12. | :02:16.
On Thursday, parents protested and staff went on strike about the way | :02:17. | :02:21.
the school is being run. Today, it was closed. Parents unsure when | :02:22. | :02:24.
their children will be attending again. This mother has sympathy with | :02:25. | :02:29.
the head teacher. It's terrible situation for us all. | :02:30. | :02:35.
My son is suffering now, we're all suffering now. It's affecting | :02:36. | :02:39.
absolutely everybody, because of a drunken party. | :02:40. | :02:43.
The council said it had to shut the school to safeguard peoples. | :02:44. | :02:47.
We plan to reopen the school as soon as possible. | :02:48. | :02:53.
Is any time school? Days, weeks? It is unwise to put a time limit on | :02:54. | :02:57.
it, but want to see it happen as soon as possible. We have seen today | :02:58. | :03:03.
alike are senior leadership capacity in the school, which we needed to | :03:04. | :03:11.
justify the action we're taken. The NUT has told us there has been | :03:12. | :03:17.
too much richer on staff and at oppressive and punitive regime. | :03:18. | :03:20.
Others disagree with that, and Mrs Brindle's has previously defended | :03:21. | :03:24.
her leadership, saying she is 100 persons committed. It is clear from | :03:25. | :03:29.
these pictures that this is a divided school. | :03:30. | :03:33.
He's been described as an iconic and irascible figure, | :03:34. | :03:35.
a brilliant speaker and compelling writer. | :03:36. | :03:37.
They were just some of the words used today | :03:38. | :03:39.
to describe the veteran Manchester MP Sir Gerald Kaufman, | :03:40. | :03:41.
He was seen by many as a dedicated constituency MP, but was never shy | :03:42. | :03:49.
Our chief reporter Dave Guest looks back at his life. | :03:50. | :03:56.
He was a politician who believed in plain speaking, | :03:57. | :03:59.
I'm ready to justify that to my inner-city constituents | :04:00. | :04:04.
on the basis that you're running this thing competently | :04:05. | :04:07.
I found him to be an amazing member of Parliament, who was so focused | :04:08. | :04:16.
He was always there for his constituents. | :04:17. | :04:22.
Here, sharing his passion for ice cream with the BBC's | :04:23. | :04:26.
And I said, how ha an ice cream parlour suddenly arisen | :04:27. | :04:34.
in my constituency without me knowing about it? | :04:35. | :04:37.
Born in Leeds, he was the son of Polish Jewish immigrants. | :04:38. | :04:42.
He became the MP for Gorton in 1983, despite having described his own | :04:43. | :04:46.
party's manifesto for that election as | :04:47. | :04:49.
"the longest suicide note in history." | :04:50. | :04:53.
He went on to serve this place for the rest of his life. | :04:54. | :04:57.
And certainly, people around here knew who their local MP was. | :04:58. | :05:01.
He would just try his best to listen to us and see what he could do | :05:02. | :05:05.
I went him on a number of issues, and he always helped me. | :05:06. | :05:10.
His Jewish faith didn't prevent him from speaking out against an Israeli | :05:11. | :05:14.
administration who he derided for their treatment | :05:15. | :05:17.
It is time to remind Sharon that the Star of David belongs | :05:18. | :05:27.
to all Jews, and not to his repulsive Government. | :05:28. | :05:29.
I disagreed with him vehemently on that, but I respected | :05:30. | :05:32.
the sincerity and integrity of his views. | :05:33. | :05:33.
In 2015, as the longest continually serving MP, | :05:34. | :05:39.
Sir Gerald became the father of the House, and today, | :05:40. | :05:41.
both sides of that House paid tribute to him. | :05:42. | :05:46.
In Manchester, meanwhile, books of condolence were opened, | :05:47. | :05:48.
and the flag at the Town Hall flew at half-mast. | :05:49. | :05:51.
A rare honour, but one said to reflect his stature as a great | :05:52. | :05:54.
For many years, Greater Manchester's Interim Mayor - Tony Lloyd - | :05:55. | :06:04.
served as an MP in the neighbouring constituency to Sir Gerald Kaufman. | :06:05. | :06:08.
Earlier, I asked him how he'd be remembered. | :06:09. | :06:12.
Gerald was a very good friend, first of all. | :06:13. | :06:15.
And as a constituency MP, was probably as good as I met. | :06:16. | :06:21.
Not really a political bruiser, far too subtle to be a bruiser. | :06:22. | :06:27.
He ripped people apart with the rapier of his tongue, | :06:28. | :06:31.
and to those who were on the receiving end, very often | :06:32. | :06:34.
Yes, I heard you refer to him as waspish earlier on, | :06:35. | :06:41.
I want to deny that it was waspish, it was the complete wasp. | :06:42. | :06:47.
I remember going to a by-election one time to campaign for a person | :06:48. | :06:54.
who will remain nameless, but wasn't very popular. | :06:55. | :06:56.
And Gerald said to me, "You know, Tony, it is sometimes necessary | :06:57. | :06:59.
"to be at the scene of the crime in order to have an alibi." | :07:00. | :07:02.
When Gerald went for things, it wasn't half-hearted, | :07:03. | :07:06.
and I think he would have been embarrassed to be waspish. | :07:07. | :07:09.
He famously came up with that saying in 1983, | :07:10. | :07:15.
when Michael Foot was leading Labour into the election, | :07:16. | :07:18.
that the manifesto they put forward was the longest | :07:19. | :07:20.
I guess that shows that sharp mind and ability to understand what, | :07:21. | :07:26.
politically, played well and what didn't? | :07:27. | :07:28.
Gerald could sum up things very, very well. | :07:29. | :07:32.
And that particular phrase will live in political history. | :07:33. | :07:36.
Many other things I can remember Gerald saying. | :07:37. | :07:38.
One time, we were in Parliament, he said to me, "Always remember | :07:39. | :07:43.
"the politician's creed, never kick a man until he's down." | :07:44. | :07:49.
It summed up Gerald as the political heavyweight, but, | :07:50. | :07:52.
actually in the end, in a funny way, probably belied the real Gerald, | :07:53. | :07:57.
who was very decent man, a very principled man | :07:58. | :07:59.
Police are continuing to appeal for information after a | :08:00. | :08:09.
man was left with serious stab wounds in a van | :08:10. | :08:11.
The 21-year-old man was found at Aintree Hospital early | :08:12. | :08:16.
yesterday morning in a vehicle with blacked-out windows. | :08:17. | :08:20.
Manchester-born film producer Joanna Natasegara is celebrating | :08:21. | :08:23.
after winning the Oscar for Best Documentary | :08:24. | :08:25.
Her film focused on the work of the White Helmets, | :08:26. | :08:31.
a group of volunteer rescue workers who risk their lives to rescue | :08:32. | :08:35.
She definitely won it, didn't she? She definitely won it. | :08:36. | :08:50.
Police and the RSPCA are investigating | :08:51. | :08:52.
after residents say a pack of fox hounds rampaged through | :08:53. | :08:54.
their Cheshire housing estate during a hunt. | :08:55. | :08:56.
Neighbours on Penningtons Lane in Macclesfield say the hounds raced | :08:57. | :08:58.
through gardens chasing a fox, which was then found dead. | :08:59. | :09:01.
Their local councillor is now asking for the issue to be | :09:02. | :09:03.
It was literally hounded after hounds, 15-20 hounds running down | :09:04. | :09:15.
our driveway. Edwina and Kevin judge Bevan a quiet | :09:16. | :09:18.
street, nothing much happens here. On Saturday, at that all changed. | :09:19. | :09:23.
Dozens of foxhounds burst into their garden, chasing a fleeing fogs, | :09:24. | :09:27.
accompanied by massed men and women on quad bikes as well as huntsmen. | :09:28. | :09:32.
Neighbours were terrified. There were dogs flying in all | :09:33. | :09:36.
directions trying to get to the fox. The fox had gone to the back of the | :09:37. | :09:41.
garden at this point. Via tad small animals, pets, it even | :09:42. | :09:45.
children in the garden, anything could have happened. -- if had had. | :09:46. | :09:51.
It was terrifying, all full. Wednesday she came out of her house | :09:52. | :09:55.
to a scene pandemonium. There were cars everywhere, the | :09:56. | :09:58.
police had to block the street of. There were people trying to come up | :09:59. | :10:04.
the road, down the road. It was just chaos, absolute chaos. | :10:05. | :10:08.
Edwina and Kevin Asay the dogs tore into the box. Neighbours claim a | :10:09. | :10:12.
woman tried to conceal it in her coat, claiming she was pregnant, but | :10:13. | :10:17.
it felt to the floor. Hunting with dogs is illegal. We've seen pictures | :10:18. | :10:21.
of the dead animal, but decided it was too graphic to show. Police say | :10:22. | :10:25.
they are taking the allegations seriously and are investigating with | :10:26. | :10:30.
the RSPCA. This is a quiet, residential neighbourhood full of | :10:31. | :10:33.
young children, elderly people, family pets. That's what's worried | :10:34. | :10:39.
and upset local people so much. The local council now wants this issue | :10:40. | :10:42.
raised in Parliament. What happened on Saturday is | :10:43. | :10:47.
absolutely outrageous, unacceptable. There's a lot of land, a few | :10:48. | :10:51.
farmers, and not one of us were informed of the hunts that was to | :10:52. | :10:53.
take place. The cherished roster -- cherished -- | :10:54. | :11:01.
Cheshire Forest and has apologised, residents say they want urgent | :11:02. | :11:05.
action to make sure Saturday's drama never happened again. | :11:06. | :11:08.
Recycling rates for household rubbish are going down | :11:09. | :11:10.
rather than up in parts of the North West. | :11:11. | :11:12.
That's according to an investigation by the BBC's Inside Out programme. | :11:13. | :11:15.
Figures show only a third of authorities in the region have | :11:16. | :11:19.
recorded a rise in recycling rates, despite efforts to meet targets. | :11:20. | :11:27.
Liverpool are so proud of their purple bins, | :11:28. | :11:31.
you can even buy a miniature version from the city's souvenir shops. | :11:32. | :11:35.
If you live in Blackpool, you get a seagull sack, to protect | :11:36. | :11:39.
But where you live doesn't just determine what colour your bin | :11:40. | :11:44.
is and how big it is, what you can put in it and how | :11:45. | :11:48.
often it empties varies form council to council. | :11:49. | :11:50.
It seems that everyone is doing the basics - | :11:51. | :11:52.
But some councils are now charging to take away your garden waste. | :11:53. | :11:59.
Food waste, not every council is dealing with that. | :12:00. | :12:02.
When it comes a plastic, this is where gets really tricky. | :12:03. | :12:06.
If you eat a yoghurt, these pots can only be recycled | :12:07. | :12:09.
if you live in Cheshire East, Cheshire West, Warrington, Wigan, | :12:10. | :12:12.
Hyndburn, Blackburn, South Lakeland and Barrow. | :12:13. | :12:16.
Government targets, set out by the EU, say we have to recycle | :12:17. | :12:22.
But, in figures obtained by Inside Out, only seven of our 35 | :12:23. | :12:30.
local authorities met this target by last April. | :12:31. | :12:37.
Cheshire West and Chester did the best, recycling 60% of its waste. | :12:38. | :12:40.
Joint-worst were Liverpool and Hyndburn councils, | :12:41. | :12:41.
So why are we getting worse at recycling household waste? | :12:42. | :12:48.
It's very difficult have a national conversation about what we should | :12:49. | :12:51.
recycle and what should be recycled when everyone is doing | :12:52. | :12:58.
Rubbish put in recycling bins in Greater Manchester ends up | :12:59. | :13:02.
in this processing plant, and they're seeing first-hand | :13:03. | :13:04.
We've been here about three minutes, I've seen a Christmas | :13:05. | :13:09.
There are a certain amount of people who just get a little confused, | :13:10. | :13:13.
but there are people who just don't want to bother. | :13:14. | :13:15.
Maybe they don't see that there's any consequence | :13:16. | :13:17.
So check your council's website to see what you can and can't recycle. | :13:18. | :13:24.
And remember, right bin, right thing. | :13:25. | :13:38.
It's always a topic that gets everyone talking. | :13:39. | :13:41.
And you can see more on that in Inside Out North West, | :13:42. | :13:44.
The people have voted, the MPs have voted. | :13:45. | :13:47.
Now we await the triggering of Article 50, which will start | :13:48. | :13:50.
the process of Britain leaving the EU. | :13:51. | :13:52.
The road ahead is unclear, because no one's done it before. | :13:53. | :13:55.
This week our social affairs correspondent Clare Fallon has | :13:56. | :13:58.
borrowed a caravan and is on a Big Brexit Tour of the region. | :13:59. | :14:02.
We start in a place where they say they're | :14:03. | :14:05.
experiencing a Brexit bounce - Blackpool. | :14:06. | :14:09.
MUSIC: Around The World by Daft Punk | :14:10. | :14:18.
As Brexit Britain gets ready to leave the European Union, this week, | :14:19. | :14:22.
Over the next five nights, we'll stop off in five places to find out | :14:23. | :14:46.
how people feel about Brexit. First stop is the region's Brexit capital, | :14:47. | :14:52.
Blackpool. Where more about it to lead the EU than anywhere else in | :14:53. | :14:59.
the North West. In each place we stop, we'll be asking people what | :15:00. | :15:03.
they want from the Brexit deal, how they see pros except Britain, and | :15:04. | :15:08.
we'll be inviting them into Norwest Road caravan to talk to them about | :15:09. | :15:13.
their Brexit hopes and fears. -- into our caravan. | :15:14. | :15:21.
It's lovely, isn't it Aids we need to be independent and get back what | :15:22. | :15:23.
we've lost. Why do think so many people voted to | :15:24. | :15:26.
leave? At the great all voted immigration. | :15:27. | :15:31.
It was about immigration or anything, just that the poverty | :15:32. | :15:35.
level in England has been quite shocking, and to think how much | :15:36. | :15:40.
money we sent abroad. They told us we couldn't have | :15:41. | :15:45.
crooked cucumbers, crooked bananas, the eggs were dead is wrong. We | :15:46. | :15:54.
should be told, we're independent. Not only did Blackpool vote | :15:55. | :15:58.
overwhelmingly to break free from the European Union, there are people | :15:59. | :16:01.
here predicting this town will be a Brexit winner. | :16:02. | :16:07.
We notice, almost as soon as Brexit happens, I think it was a | :16:08. | :16:10.
combination of the weakening pound, maybe a view fears and concerns over | :16:11. | :16:17.
travelling abroad, but between those two issues, we definitely saw a | :16:18. | :16:21.
Brexit pounds last summer. What Blackpool lacks in each | :16:22. | :16:28.
year-round son, Ed melts up for an knife jugglers up ladders. Plus, | :16:29. | :16:36.
there's this... Right now, it's the low season at the pleasure Beach. | :16:37. | :16:40.
This lot are only two about the site's history. Across this park, | :16:41. | :16:45.
they are getting ready for the future and a new ride. They're | :16:46. | :16:50.
buying it from Germany, were you don't get as much roller-coaster for | :16:51. | :16:54.
your pound at the moment. That outsiders, it's costing us a | :16:55. | :17:00.
lot more money to install this ride for next year. That wasn't so good, | :17:01. | :17:05.
we'll whether that one and hopefully get through it. Hopefully the | :17:06. | :17:07.
increase in visitor numbers this year will help us get through that. | :17:08. | :17:13.
As with the Blackpool, and town were most voted to leave the EU, many are | :17:14. | :17:19.
predicting a brighter future. But in other places, not everyone is | :17:20. | :17:22.
heading off into the sunset with such optimism. | :17:23. | :17:30.
It was like caravan karaoke, wasn't it? | :17:31. | :17:32.
And tomorrow night, Clare and her caravan will continue | :17:33. | :17:35.
on our Big Brexit Tour and travel from Blackpool to Liverpool, | :17:36. | :17:37.
where there was a Remain vote, to find out how people | :17:38. | :17:40.
Now sport with Richard, and we'll be looking | :17:41. | :17:45.
at Manchester United's League Cup celebrations in a moment, | :17:46. | :17:48.
but first, one of Everton's greats has passed away? | :17:49. | :17:55.
Yes, Alex Young, who's died at the age of of 80. | :17:56. | :17:58.
But quite simply he was one of the most idolised | :17:59. | :18:02.
The greatest ever Evertonian, in the eyes of many. | :18:03. | :18:06.
The Goodison faithful took the Scotsman to their hearts | :18:07. | :18:09.
in the 60s and the fact he was nicknamed The Golden Vision | :18:10. | :18:12.
He was a very stylish player who typified that great team. | :18:13. | :18:16.
He won the League title in 62-63 and the FA Cup in 1966, making | :18:17. | :18:21.
a total of 273 appearances in all for Everton, | :18:22. | :18:24.
He had a goal disallowed in that Cup final in 66, | :18:25. | :18:30.
but still played a major part as his side came back | :18:31. | :18:33.
from 3-2 down against Sheffield Wednesday to win 3-2. | :18:34. | :18:38.
Alex, who has a suite named in his honour at Goodison Park, | :18:39. | :18:41.
passed away in hospital near Edinburgh after | :18:42. | :18:42.
Manchester United fans don't need to reminding Eric Cantona's | :18:43. | :18:49.
A maverick match-winner, the same description some are now | :18:50. | :18:54.
The Swede scored twice as United beat Southampton 3-2 | :18:55. | :19:00.
in yesterday's League Cup Final, securing Jose Mourinho's first | :19:01. | :19:03.
But it was his definitely Zlatan who stole the Wembley show. | :19:04. | :19:08.
Another piece of silverware for the Manchester United cabinet. | :19:09. | :19:15.
Inspired by a player who, at 35, still has the golden touch. | :19:16. | :19:22.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who scored twice to make it an astonishing 32 | :19:23. | :19:28.
In terms of influence, does it feel similar to Eric Cantona? | :19:29. | :19:35.
He has that arrogance and his professional | :19:36. | :19:38.
People like him are gifted, you can't teach something like that. | :19:39. | :19:44.
I think he cares, I think he's trying. | :19:45. | :19:46.
After Ibrahimovic's opener, United doubled their lead. | :19:47. | :19:52.
But Southampton, who wrongly had a goal chalked off, | :19:53. | :19:58.
Manolo Gabbiadini with both goals as the Saints drew level at 2-2. | :19:59. | :20:06.
But United's big Swedish striker doesn't like playing second fiddle. | :20:07. | :20:11.
And he reacted first to a cross into the box to emphatically | :20:12. | :20:14.
A performance that prompted his manager to say that United fans | :20:15. | :20:20.
should camp out on Zlantan's doorstep to convince him to stay | :20:21. | :20:24.
United fans can go to the door of his house and stay there, | :20:25. | :20:33.
This is why I came, I came to win, and I'm winning. | :20:34. | :20:41.
Jose Mourinho is the only Manchester United manager to win | :20:42. | :20:44.
a major trophy in his first season at Old Trafford. | :20:45. | :20:48.
Many United fans think that more are sure to follow. | :20:49. | :20:52.
Ferguson took a long time to win a trophy, and then it came. | :20:53. | :20:56.
I think it's very important to show that he can do it. | :20:57. | :20:59.
And as for where the matchwinner is going to put his medal? | :21:00. | :21:02.
And not many people would be surprised if he inspires his | :21:03. | :21:11.
team-mates to win a couple more before he calls it a day. | :21:12. | :21:19.
Liverpool take centre stage tonight, they visit champions Leicester | :21:20. | :21:22.
after they sacked popular title-winning manager | :21:23. | :21:24.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is unsure how the home side will react to that. | :21:25. | :21:34.
We don't know what we should expect, we didn't know before. | :21:35. | :21:37.
I told ready, at the beginning of the unique, that | :21:38. | :21:40.
Leicester probably now knows exactly what the problem is, | :21:41. | :21:43.
and we should always expect the best Leicester. | :21:44. | :21:49.
And you can join BBC Radio Merseyside's sports team live | :21:50. | :21:52.
in Leicester from 7pm until 10:30pm tonight. | :21:53. | :21:59.
Finally from me tonight, The Super League Show will have | :22:00. | :22:01.
all the action and reaction to an incredible weekend | :22:02. | :22:03.
Leigh recorded their first win since promotion and what a win it was, | :22:04. | :22:07.
Tanya Arnold and the team will have all the action from that one | :22:08. | :22:12.
and all of the weekend's games at half past eleven tonight, | :22:13. | :22:15.
The TV network Amazon Prime has recently made some high | :22:16. | :22:21.
profile acquisitions - including paying a reported | :22:22. | :22:24.
?8 million an episode to show a new gangster series | :22:25. | :22:27.
So, it may come as something of a surprise to hear that it's | :22:28. | :22:32.
latest offering is a student film made in Cumbria. | :22:33. | :22:35.
La La Land may have cost ?25 million... | :22:36. | :22:46.
The ?500 we had, that was accumulated over three years' time. | :22:47. | :22:56.
So we thought, we'll use the resources we have, and we did, | :22:57. | :23:00.
and we made sure every shot had some sort of production value in it. | :23:01. | :23:03.
We thought really long and hard about it. | :23:04. | :23:07.
Sam Fountayne put extracts from the film on YouTube. | :23:08. | :23:12.
That was enough for an American distribution company called | :23:13. | :23:15.
They distribute films, so they go to American film markets, | :23:16. | :23:20.
the Cannes Film Festival, to basically sell the film | :23:21. | :23:24.
to clients and say, we've got this film, who wants it? | :23:25. | :23:29.
Amazon Prime wanted it, and that means Zombies Have Fallen | :23:30. | :23:32.
You've got all the classics on there. | :23:33. | :23:36.
So many good films that are from Hollywood... | :23:37. | :23:39.
Knowing that mine's right there next to all these big stars, | :23:40. | :23:43.
I'm, like, wow, have I done it, have I made it? | :23:44. | :23:48.
Sam made the drama while he was on a film and TV production | :23:49. | :23:55.
Now, he's moved to a flat above a cafe in Bolton. | :23:56. | :24:02.
Hollywood it ain't, but he's on his way. | :24:03. | :24:05.
Sam's already working on his next film with a friend | :24:06. | :24:08.
from his student days, who worked with him on Zombies. | :24:09. | :24:11.
I hope that opens the doors to the film and TV industry, | :24:12. | :24:14.
And obviously, being near Manchester, that's | :24:15. | :24:19.
Sam's now got a job as a video producer, working on other people's | :24:20. | :24:23.
If his own featured really does take off, he may have | :24:24. | :24:29.
Quite a big budget impaired with this show! | :24:30. | :24:43.
Just before we find out from Dianne what the weather | :24:44. | :24:45.
has in store for us, this is Daffi. | :24:46. | :24:47.
She's a young otter cub, who was found in a distressed state | :24:48. | :24:50.
in Chesterfield last week after being separated | :24:51. | :24:52.
Thankfully, she was rescued by the RSPCA and is now recovering | :24:53. | :24:56.
Aw, just lovely! centre in Nantwich. | :24:57. | :25:06.
Aw, just lovely! We had a little red Square at last | :25:07. | :25:15.
week, it's like country file here! The weather is changeable, changing | :25:16. | :25:19.
to direction you may not like. It started last week very mild, then | :25:20. | :25:23.
turned windy. Very wet through the weekend, very cold from here on. | :25:24. | :25:27.
That's the trend for the next few days. Temperatures falling away. | :25:28. | :25:32.
Blackpool, doesn't look like there's a care in the world there, but it's | :25:33. | :25:37.
going to be very cold tonight. Because it has been so damp through | :25:38. | :25:42.
the day, it will be a yellow weather warning for untreated icy surfaces. | :25:43. | :25:49.
It is all about the change in wind direction. The air coming towards | :25:50. | :25:55.
us, very cold, this is how it stays from Friday, Saturday, maybe even | :25:56. | :26:00.
Sunday as well. We'll have to get used to it, and weather systems | :26:01. | :26:03.
coming through as well. As a hugger to the cold air, there is snow in a | :26:04. | :26:07.
forecast through the next few days. Parts have seen snow already, | :26:08. | :26:12.
Liverpool earlier today, over the Pennines, a light covering in | :26:13. | :26:16.
places. That will continue through the night. The usual suspect seeing | :26:17. | :26:20.
a couple of centimetres falling, nothing an usual. Some places may | :26:21. | :26:25.
see a flake of floating past. Don't think it will sit on the ground at | :26:26. | :26:29.
lower levels, but my great keeps coming into the early hours of the | :26:30. | :26:33.
morning, and the cold air descending. Tonight, towns and | :26:34. | :26:40.
cities around plus 1 degrees. Rural areas will see lower temperatures. | :26:41. | :26:47.
You may see some sunshine in the morning, again showers coming in, as | :26:48. | :26:51.
the bumper to the cold air, wintry NHL. If you don't see snow showers, | :26:52. | :26:57.
you will see rain. Merging for a longer spell of rain, not a nice | :26:58. | :27:03.
day, temperatures around 7 degrees. But the sun is up for 7am, and that | :27:04. | :27:07.
is a big thing. I looked at my calendar and Solway | :27:08. | :27:11.
are heading in the last couple of weeks before the clocks go forward. | :27:12. | :27:14.
This is the last bit of winter direction. | :27:15. | :27:20.
You're doing a better job than me if you can promise that! | :27:21. | :27:21.
See you later! To be in the Lords, | :27:22. | :27:55.
you have to be punctual... literally have to slam | :27:56. | :27:57.
the door in somebody's face. What right do they have | :27:58. | :28:01.
to tell ME about my fashion sense. Can you now control your | :28:02. | :28:05.
bad language? Yes, I will. Otherwise you'll be, | :28:06. | :28:11.
you know, drummed out. To win on something | :28:12. | :28:14.
as important as this A unique opportunity | :28:15. | :28:19.
to meet the Lords. | :28:20. | :28:22. |
