Dozens of people held a protest in Bath today against plans

The controversial transport scheme has been put forward

by housing association Curo, which is building a new estate

Protesters in Widcombe this morning made their feelings known.

The cable car is the idea of the housing assocation Curo.

It would connect its new Mulberry Park development in the south

of Bath with the railway station in the centre.

Passing fields and houses on the steep hill in between.

We cannot let that be destroyed or eroded by monstrous industrial

You know, this is a mass transport system.

A single decker bus, you don't want one of those

going over your house every five minutes.

But also it goes right through one of the most sensitive areas in Bath,

Curo argues that other European cities have

World Heritage Sites and cable cars - like this one in

And it believes a cable car would help solve

Bath wants to be a beautifully creative city and this

It uses its typography, it responds to the challenges

And it will be hopefully a piece of I guess history in the making

These campaigners say a cable car has no place

Thousands of people in Bristol joined in a global celebration
