A little girl has been critically injured in a dog attack in Chatham -

Police were called to the Jenkins Dale area just before 5:30pm.

The air ambulance took the child to a London hospital.

It's understood the dog was shot dead by a police marksman.

Our reporter Leanne Rinne is at the scene.

Leanne, you've been speaking to people who witnessed this incident -

We know that police were called to the fairly quiet residential living

at 5:30pm. We understand that there was a child bitten by a dog. You now

know, having spoken to local residents, this was a local girl

just two years old. She received life-threatening injuries and was

first to a London hospital where shoot remains in a critical

condition. The dog was shot round the front of the block of flats by

police officers. I think there were carers trying

keep alive, towels and everything. But you couldn't see her face,

she was covered in blood everywhere. I saw police officers, too often,

they shot the dog twice. It's a shocking incident.

Leanne, I understand people in the area have had concerns

about this particular animal in the past.

Yes, just a a few moments ago, spoke to a woman who believes in his black

flags she said that just yesterday her child was approached by the same

dog. She now feels that he had a lucky escape. He was going to get

the ball, rolling it to the dog and the dog wasn't interested in the

ball, it went straight for him. It's not him to the floor but luckily

somebody got him often. It just scratched him but he just kind of

dance up at me and I turned his leg so he didn't bite. -- he just kind

of jumped up at me. Two people had been arrested in connection to the

incident. They are in police custody. Police are keen to hear

from anybody that had the event. Their investigations continue to.

on a so called "revenge porn" website, along with vile,

aggressive sexual fantasies - inflicting extreme humiliation

Whiting has been put on the sex offenders register

But one of his victims told us she believed Sussex Police

should have done more to protect her and other women.

He encouraged others to use the images for their own

One of the images he posted was of a 16-year-old schoolgirl,

another of Nikki Elliott and her young child.

They weren't even explicit photos, they were changed

into being explicit photos, they were just normal ones

and we were all saying earlier that there's photos of one of the girl's

weddings that he's in and it's just marred all of our memories

of certain times of our lives because we look at photos and we see

that they're photos that have then been put on the website.

Sentencing him to a six-month suspended jail term,

We think that our stuff is safe online, what we put online is only

to our friends and family and we just need to make sure that

when we upload photos that we're saying that their private

But whatever you put online stays online and people can access it.

Whiting initially received just a caution for similar offences

against four other woman last year, prompting anger from victims

We put in a statement and they mislaid it.

I didn't know criminals were given police escorts.

The US-based website is declining to remove the images

despite requests from the police and from the victims.

Sussex Police accept that their officers require more

and better training when it comes to dealing with complaints

Sussex Police say that that is a process which is already underway.

One of the top negotiators with the train drivers' union Aslef

says he's not surprised a deal brokered between the union

and Southern Rail was rejected by his members

because their relationship is utterly toxic.

However, Southern management are insistent that a way to end

the year-long dispute over driver-only operation

A Kent hospital is making contingency plans to cope if agency

The trust is insisting that A services won't be affected.

Staff at the QEQM Hospital in Margate had suggested possible

It simply isn't going to happen and I'll be fighting

against anything that is going to upset services at QEQM.

So far, the trust is looking at rearranging rotas with its other

introducing any partial closures, temporary or otherwise,

themselves. There were reports that some locums are asking for a rise of

above 50% to combat the tax changes. One finance director told the health

service Journal it was like a Mexican stand-off. There are

problems with quickly. They say that it is because of east Kent's

relatively isolated position. Because of that, they rely heavily

on locums and thus without locums things would get very difficult.
