Did even Inc. The new Bishop of Exeter has been officially

installed. The Right Reverend Robert Atwell officially became thd latest

holder of the office. Led by a marching band, Devon's new

Bishop began his installation ceremony by processing throtghout

the centre of the city. The church establishment was out in force,

gathered from across Devon to welcome in the 71st bishop. A moment

of reflection and then in kdeping with tradition of the bishop knocks

three times before being allowed in. The Right Reverend Robert Atwell is

the former Bishop of Stockport and a previous Benedictine monk.

Before the ceremony, he told spotlight he was lead `` looking

forward to leading the Anglhcans. I am excited but rather nervots and

intimidated as well. It's that big job, Devon is a big county but it is

immensely exciting. During the ceremony, the Bishop was anointed

with oil by his fellow Southwest Bishops before being offici`lly

installed on his wooden throne, the tallest in the country. Then, back

into the body of the congregation and a chance to meet the people he

has promised to serve. A protest is taking place t`king

place which could see a hospital closed overnight. Health

commissioners are thinking of closing this facility. Opponents

gathered petitions signaturds against the plan. There is no

rehabilitation, there is no suitable place. The idea that you can do a

lot of the services in the home in this widely scattered area, I think,

is a pipe dream. Meanwhile patients trying to access

health services across the Devon and Cornwall border say they ard at a

disadvantage because of where they live. This ?3 million health centre

is being built in Cornwall. It is hoped it will address some of the

problems revealed by the survey including long journeys, lack of

transport and difficult parting `` parking. In terms of geography and a

map, it looks as if it isn't easy reach of Derriford Hospital but

actually, it is about as isolated as you can be. It is a very long way to

travel by car to get referrdd. A final piece of historic woodland

in Devon has been bought by two conservation charities which wanted

sub restored for people major. The Woodland Trust on The National Trust

bought the 825 acre Fingal was on the edge of Dartmoor. They have now

reached a ?3.8 million targdt to buy the last outstanding piece of land

there. A special celebration has bden

taking place in Exeter to m`rk the 50th anniversary of the Sistine ``

city's bus station. Around 40 Ben Judge buses were on display and many

of them would have operated out of the station just off Paris Street.

Good evening. It looks like for most of us the weather will be fairly
