Good evening. initially struggled

:00:11.:00:11.

Around 300 people marched through Truro this afternoon

:00:12.:00:14.

It was the culmination of a series of marches across Cornwall

:00:15.:00:19.

The message was clear, and they came from all over

:00:20.:00:29.

Many of the protesters had already been at marches in St Just

:00:30.:00:35.

People are really concerned about the current state

:00:36.:00:40.

At the moment, there's been a consultation about cutting

:00:41.:00:44.

?264 million from the local budget, and people are saying,

:00:45.:00:48.

how could you do that when we are on black alert,

:00:49.:00:51.

people can't get social care packages?

:00:52.:00:53.

And it looks like the health service is in some kind of crisis.

:00:54.:00:56.

I went in the other day, brilliant treatment,

:00:57.:01:01.

but how long can they manage with less and less money?

:01:02.:01:05.

I work with groups of people who have physical disabilities

:01:06.:01:09.

and groups of people who have dementia, and those people

:01:10.:01:12.

are really vulnerable and they are also very frightened.

:01:13.:01:15.

Those fears over possible cuts to services and community hospital

:01:16.:01:19.

The protests on this side of the Tamar will continue

:01:20.:01:25.

with a candlelit vigil outside Falmouth Hospital this evening.

:01:26.:01:28.

A man's died in a dumper truck incident

:01:29.:01:39.

It happened in Military Road near Freathy Beach at lunchtime.

:01:40.:01:42.

The man, who's not yet been named, is thought to have been

:01:43.:01:46.

The 75th anniversary of the sinking of HMS Exeter in World War II

:01:47.:01:50.

The ship, which was built at Devonport, went down

:01:51.:01:54.

It was a day when sacrifices made in World War II and later

:01:55.:02:07.

75 years since HMS Exeter sank off the coast of Indonesia,

:02:08.:02:18.

the company on board was remembered today.

:02:19.:02:21.

Everybody on the mess decks were always friendly.

:02:22.:02:27.

There were no arguments or squabbles or anything.

:02:28.:02:36.

The Royal Marines Band, serving seamen, cadets and veterans

:02:37.:02:39.

marched through the streets to observe the anniversary,

:02:40.:02:42.

In the cathedral, HMS Exeter's war dead were

:02:43.:02:47.

Those from the later ship of the same name who were lost

:02:48.:02:53.

in the Falklands conflict were also honoured.

:02:54.:02:57.

HMS Exeter's last survivor of the Battle of the River Plate.

:02:58.:03:00.

There was pride and sadness for Jim as he stood for a generation.

:03:01.:03:05.

These renewed acts of remembrance, beneath the window dedicated

:03:06.:03:07.

to the memory of HMS Exeter's fallen.

:03:08.:03:11.

There's someone able to represent the four chaps who lost their lives

:03:12.:03:23.

A 49-year-old scaffolder accused of trying to kill a friend

:03:24.:03:35.

by stabbing him in the neck has walked free from

:03:36.:03:37.

Gerard Eamon Maguire was charged with trying to kill

:03:38.:03:40.

Shaun Patrick Howard last October following a 16-hour

:03:41.:03:43.

Onto the sport, and Plymouth Argyle beat Carlisle 2-0 at Home Park.

:03:44.:03:50.

Graham Carey and Jake Jervis with the goals.

:03:51.:03:52.

Exeter City dropped to seventh in a 3-1 defeat at Hartlepool,

:03:53.:03:55.

while Yeovil were thrashed 4-0 at home by Luton.

:03:56.:03:58.

In the National League, Torquay United were beaten 2-1

:03:59.:04:00.

Hello, it's been a showery day today, and unfortunately it stays

:04:01.:04:09.

pretty unsettled over the coming days.

:04:10.:04:10.

Some further showers around for this evening,

:04:11.:04:12.

Through the early hours this feature rolls in.

:04:13.:04:15.

This could be heavy, it could be thundery,

:04:16.:04:18.

it could bring some hail, and also some very strong,

:04:19.:04:20.

squally gusts of wind, with the risk of gusts up to 50

:04:21.:04:24.

If you are up and about early tomorrow, that

:04:25.:04:28.

That clears through fairly early, but a lot of showers pack in behind,

:04:29.:04:33.

and they will be heavy, they could be thundery

:04:34.:04:35.

They might ease a bit as the day goes on.

:04:36.:04:39.

A bit more in the way of brightness perhaps coming through.

:04:40.:04:42.

Some strong, gusty winds tomorrow, making our highs of nine or ten

:04:43.:04:45.

Unfortunately, it stays fairly unsettled as we head

:04:46.:04:49.

The next bulletin is at 5.50 tomorrow evening.

:04:50.:04:55.

Hello. I could have put almost anything in this sphere today such

:04:56.:05:20.

was the variety. Some of you saw showers but the cloud is sitting

:05:21.:05:25.

lower in the atmosphere. It was nice enough this morning across the

:05:26.:05:29.

Midlands, not just here in Birmingham, but in that slot, it

:05:30.:05:32.

filled in disappointingly, the showers were always there in Wales

:05:33.:05:36.

and the South West and they crept further into the yeast, and further

:05:37.:05:41.

into the North. All of that is driven by this low pressure, we have

:05:42.:05:45.

had wind rain and snow in Scotland which becomes confined to the

:05:46.:05:47.

Shetland Islands overnight making room for another band of weather in

:05:48.:05:52.

the South West and in between, a touch of frost and perhaps a bit of

:05:53.:05:56.

fog. This is how we start the day on Sunday, the rain and wind confined

:05:57.:06:00.

to the Shetland Islands, elsewhere the good news story in Scotland,

:06:01.:06:04.

Northern Ireland and the north of England is that you will get to see

:06:05.:06:12.

some shots -- sunshine. A much improved day than today. This

:06:13.:06:13.
