Hello. It looks like, next week, we are going to see the remnants | 0:00:04 | 0:00:07
of another tropical weather system coming across the Atlantic | 0:00:07 | 0:00:10
and influencing our weather, but not in the same way Bertha did | 0:00:10 | 0:00:13
a few weeks ago. Actually, for some of us, it may lead to an improvement | 0:00:13 | 0:00:16
in the weather. All will be explained in a few minutes. | 0:00:16 | 0:00:18
First, to the here and now, the big picture for Tuesday, | 0:00:18 | 0:00:22
the Bank Holiday rain still affecting parts of England and Wales, | 0:00:22 | 0:00:25
as Tuesday begins. The potential for still some heavy downpours, | 0:00:25 | 0:00:29
especially into south-east England. | 0:00:29 | 0:00:32
We could still be dealing with some difficult driving conditions | 0:00:32 | 0:00:34
during the morning, before things slowly improve, | 0:00:34 | 0:00:37
but still some showers around in southern England into the afternoon. | 0:00:37 | 0:00:41
Elsewhere, though, it is a decent day. Many of us starting the day with | 0:00:41 | 0:00:44
sunny spells and continuing with them and, even where you are cloudy, | 0:00:44 | 0:00:47
it will brighten up at times. Temperatures - mid to high teens. | 0:00:47 | 0:00:51
As we go through Tuesday evening, the last of the showers | 0:00:51 | 0:00:54
begin to push away from the south coast, so through the night and into | 0:00:54 | 0:00:57
Wednesday morning, we will keep a lot of cloud in south-west England, | 0:00:57 | 0:01:00
maybe some spots of rain from that. | 0:01:00 | 0:01:02
Elsewhere, a mix of cloud and clear spells. A bit of patchy mist and fog | 0:01:02 | 0:01:06
developing here and there and for some, again, temperatures | 0:01:06 | 0:01:08
dipping down into single figures under clear skies. | 0:01:08 | 0:01:11
A quiet start to Wednesday, with high pressure close by, | 0:01:11 | 0:01:14
but then we look at another developing area of low pressure | 0:01:14 | 0:01:17
coming in towards the UK. So, don't be fooled by the quiet weather, | 0:01:17 | 0:01:21
if you have it on Wednesday - it is not going to last much longer. | 0:01:21 | 0:01:25
It looks like a decent day towards the north and east of the UK | 0:01:25 | 0:01:28
on Wednesday, but down towards the South West, close to that area | 0:01:28 | 0:01:32
of low pressure, increasing cloud, wind and outbreaks of rain moving in, | 0:01:32 | 0:01:36
more persistent later in the day. There could be a bit of sunshine | 0:01:36 | 0:01:39
and, for many, it will feel quite pleasant. Going into Thursday, | 0:01:39 | 0:01:42
that area of low pressure becomes the dominant feature. | 0:01:42 | 0:01:45
Initially setting itself up to the west of us, it will cross the UK | 0:01:45 | 0:01:49
during Friday into Saturday. It looks like, from this area of low pressure, | 0:01:49 | 0:01:54
it is into Scotland we will see a lot of rain. Northern Ireland, too, | 0:01:54 | 0:01:57
North Wales, as well. The west will see the strongest winds. | 0:01:57 | 0:02:01
Elsewhere, just a band of rain pushing on through. Brighter skies | 0:02:01 | 0:02:03
following behind, with showers blustery in that wind. | 0:02:03 | 0:02:06
As that area of low pressure on Friday moves into the UK, | 0:02:06 | 0:02:10
it will turn more windy, generally, across the UK, so a very blustery day | 0:02:10 | 0:02:15
and, with low pressure sitting right across us, that means | 0:02:15 | 0:02:18
plenty of showers, merging at times, to give some longer spells of rain | 0:02:18 | 0:02:22
and some of those showers will be heavy, even thundery, too. | 0:02:22 | 0:02:25
But it is showers. Occasionally, we will see some glimpses of sunshine. | 0:02:25 | 0:02:30
And that takes us on to the start of the weekend. | 0:02:30 | 0:02:33
The area of low pressure beginning to get the message and head east, | 0:02:33 | 0:02:36
but it is still close enough on Saturday to produce further showers. | 0:02:36 | 0:02:39
Some sunny spells and blustery conditions, once again, | 0:02:39 | 0:02:42
especially the closer you are to that area of low pressure. | 0:02:42 | 0:02:45
Going into Sunday, it looks like the weather is going to try to begin | 0:02:45 | 0:02:49
to settle down. That is the influence from that former | 0:02:49 | 0:02:51
tropical weather system coming across the Atlantic. | 0:02:51 | 0:02:54
It is Cristobal. Unlike Bertha, it does not look like it will come | 0:02:54 | 0:02:57
right across. It will move to the north-west of us and, as it does so, | 0:02:57 | 0:03:00
it draws up a ridge of high pressure, settling our weather down next week | 0:03:00 | 0:03:04
and turning things a little bit warmer, especially in the south. | 0:03:04 | 0:03:08
So, the big picture into next week, as it looks at the moment - | 0:03:08 | 0:03:12
of course, it is open to change - | 0:03:12 | 0:03:14
it looks like the remnants of Cristobal towards the north west. | 0:03:14 | 0:03:17
It could still bring some stormy weather towards the far north west. | 0:03:17 | 0:03:20
We will keep you updated about that. Elsewhere, this high pressure | 0:03:20 | 0:03:24
beginning to nudge in and, again, settling the weather down. | 0:03:24 | 0:03:26
So, we have that to look forward to next week, if it comes to plan. | 0:03:26 | 0:03:29
As ever, here, we will keep you updated. Bye-bye. | 0:03:29 | 0:03:32 |
