Hello. There are some changes on the way

0:00:030:00:05

for the weather for the week ahead.

0:00:050:00:06

It's going to be quite a roller-coaster ride,

0:00:060:00:08

especially in terms of temperatures.

0:00:080:00:11

What we are seeing at the moment is that pressure is rising.

0:00:110:00:14

This area of high pressure is holding up from the south-west, that

0:00:140:00:18

is settling things down, not just on Sunday but over the next few days.

0:00:180:00:22

There's going to be little, if any, rain around.

0:00:220:00:25

With increasing amounts of sunshine,

0:00:250:00:27

we are going to find temperatures rising in the next couple of days.

0:00:270:00:32

We start Sunday with some sunshine in places but quite a lot of

0:00:320:00:36

cloud developing and spreading out, especially over inland areas.

0:00:360:00:41

Perhaps the best of the sunshine by the afternoon, west Wales,

0:00:410:00:44

south-west England along the south coast.

0:00:440:00:46

Sunny spells in northern England and eastern Scotland.

0:00:460:00:49

Temperatures on Sunday very similar to those of Saturday.

0:00:490:00:52

A lot of this cloud will then fade away as the sun goes down.

0:00:520:00:57

While there won't be clear skies everywhere, Sunday night and

0:00:570:01:01

Monday morning could be a good time to watch the meteor shower.

0:01:010:01:05

Hardly a breath of wind overnight,

0:01:050:01:07

a little chilly across northern parts of the UK.

0:01:070:01:10

For Monday we start bright and sunny in most areas.

0:01:100:01:14

There will be a little bit of patchy cloud but we won't see

0:01:140:01:16

a repeat performance of Sunday,

0:01:160:01:18

we won't see that cloud spreading out and spoiling the sunshine.

0:01:180:01:22

So more high temperatures,

0:01:220:01:24

a bit more warmth around and that warmth will push northwards

0:01:240:01:28

into southern Scotland and Northern Ireland.

0:01:280:01:30

So temperatures improving here.

0:01:300:01:33

High pressure by Monday into Tuesday is centred more to the east

0:01:330:01:36

of the UK.

0:01:360:01:37

We'll start to see the breeze just freshening

0:01:370:01:39

a touch across western areas and where we have an onshore breeze,

0:01:390:01:43

say along the south coast of England,

0:01:430:01:45

maybe a gentle breeze along the east coast as well.

0:01:450:01:47

Temperatures will be held back a touch.

0:01:470:01:49

But another nice warm day,

0:01:490:01:51

temperatures widely, in the sunshine, low-to-mid 20s.

0:01:510:01:55

On Wednesday, things start to change a little bit but probably

0:01:550:01:59

only in the west.

0:01:590:02:01

We have still got high pressure across most of the UK, this

0:02:010:02:04

weather front is beginning to arrive into western areas and bring a

0:02:040:02:08

few showers into Northern Ireland, perhaps Wales and the south-west.

0:02:080:02:12

We could get a rumble or two of thunder, the odd flash of lightning.

0:02:120:02:15

For many places it is still going to be a dry day and a warm one as well.

0:02:150:02:19

Temperatures probably peaking on Wednesday.

0:02:190:02:21

Highs of around the mid-20s across east Wales,

0:02:210:02:25

the Midlands towards the south-east.

0:02:250:02:26

Could get as high as 26 or 27 degrees.

0:02:260:02:29

At one stage it looked like we were going to get 30 degrees or so but,

0:02:290:02:33

in order to get that,

0:02:330:02:34

we needed to have our winds coming up from France and Spain,

0:02:340:02:37

but instead, the breeze more from the east,

0:02:370:02:40

more from the Low Countries and perhaps from Germany as well.

0:02:400:02:43

Later in the week, we see our first weather front bringing those

0:02:430:02:48

showers in the west just fading away.

0:02:480:02:50

We get a second push in from the Atlantic with an area of low

0:02:500:02:53

pressure trying to drive some rain into the UK.

0:02:530:02:56

But it is a painfully slow process.

0:02:560:02:58

Most of the models take the low pressure to the south-west

0:02:580:03:01

so this is where we will see most of the rain into the end of the week,

0:03:010:03:03

for the start of the weekend.

0:03:030:03:06

That low pressure may pull away and the Azores High returns.

0:03:060:03:09

But perhaps only briefly by the end of the weekend.

0:03:090:03:13

What we are seeing in the longer term is things turning much

0:03:130:03:17

more unsettled. There will be some sunshine around

0:03:170:03:19

but we are going to find

0:03:190:03:21

a little rain, mostly in the west.

0:03:210:03:23

Temperatures will be dropping nearer to where they

0:03:230:03:26

should be at this time of the year.

0:03:260:03:29

That's it. Goodbye.
