That was a magical performance. How on earth did you do it?

Well, each of the video suits has 2,500 LEDs.

2,500...

We have to programme each of those LEDs to do individually something

-different to all of the other ones.

-But that's 2,500 per suit.

That's 12,500 for the entire range.

They all have to be programmed individually for the show.

-Each one?

-It's unbelievable.

It's so awesome, isn't it?

Is it fair to say you're half robot, half human?

Pretty much.

-I'd say so. If you just hold that.

-I've got it, yeah.

We start the show plugged in.

-I like the look of this box already.

-This is the robot part.

This is so you can link all of the suits together, isn't it?

-Exactly.

-You only do this when you're doing the show, yeah?

We do this at the start of the show,

-then we unplug and we're free to dance.

She's not here, but this was a lot of fun.

Today we're in a top-secret location.

-In Bedford.

-Well, now it's not secret.

And we're here to do something like we've never done before.

We're going to fly!

Well, not quite flying, more like falling in style.

For almost 100 years,

skydiving has been popular with thrill seekers all over the world.

But it requires nerves of steel,

a plane...oh, and don't forget a parachute.

So it's not necessarily the easiest sport to get into.

But there is a way you can experience

the thrill of freefall without jumping out of a plane.

Indoor skydiving.

It's a new competitive sport that's really taking off.

People of all ages can do it - and today we're going to give it a go.

So we met instructor Paul to find out more.

-How does it work?

-Basically, you've got a super huge fan

right up there...

-That is huge!

-..which is going to create up to 180mph worth of wind.

You're going to be supported by the wind right here.

180mph?!

Actually, to be fair, for you guys today, maybe 120.

-Oh, that's nothing(!)

-If you get better, we're going to turn it up.

-Bring it on!

-We're so excited.

-Can we get flying?

-Absolutely.

-Let's go!

This is so cool!

But of course, it's easy when you've got

a top instructor holding on to you.

And that 120mph wind can create some really funny faces.

Mum, look at my chops!

The next step in our training is to learn

how to let go of the instructor,

and, with tiny movements of our arms and feet,

start attempting a few moves, like spins.

It's great fun.

But don't take our word for it, these young fans love it too.

When you first get in, you feel really light

and it just feels all tickly.

Skydiving is fun because your face goes like...

-Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh.

-THEY LAUGH

Wow, that's so much fun.

-I love this.

-That is off the chart.

But, Linds, I think we need to up the ante a little bit.

Oh, yeah, we could do a little dance-off.

We could, or we could join some teams. Roll the awesome footage.

Time for a Blue Peter challenge.

So, we'll each work with a British indoor skydiving team,

to learn a series of choreographed moves.

We'll then take it in turns to display the routine

against the clock.

Lindsey's joining super skydiving squad Volition,

and I'm with top team ACM.

Now we have our teams,

we need to try and memorise the moves we'll be performing.

To do this, we'll be using creepers,

wheel boards that allow us to practise on the ground.

-Now you're doing your solo...

-Solo spin?

-Spin.

-And then...

-Oh, my God.

You all right? Yeah?

This is so complicated.

I know it looks like a lot of fun, and it is a lot of fun,

but there's so much to think about.

I'm struggling too.

We have to perform a number of different moves,

including solo and team spins.

And what's more, we have just 35 seconds to do as many as possible.

This is a great example of meeting experts

that have done what they've done for a very long time,

and us having exactly one day in which to try and keep up.

We don't normally have people doing these types of turns

and these types of formations

right on their first go, on their first day.

So the fact that he's still keeping up, it's really good.

When she first started learning,

I thought she showed natural talent right from the beginning

and she's got better and better as the day's progressed.

So I think we're going to nail it.

So it's officially game on.

Time to take our training back to the wind tunnel

and practise our moves for real.

So, what Lindsey is very good at is her manoeuvres.

She is so precise, and she's quick.

But I'm not going to let Linds run away with it.

I need to get in there and perfect my technique too.

I am struggling to control my spins, though.

What's good to see is that

Radzi is having all the same problems,

all the same balance issues, the same grabbing problems as I am.

So it does make me feel a bit better.

But it's going to be close.

And before long, the training's over.

We've got to perform the same display

and complete as many formation moves as possible

in just 35 seconds.

Linds, this is it.

Chinyanganya, I'm going to fall better than you.

I'm going to forget my routine better than you, Linds.

Yeah, I might go on my back by accident.

Yeah, and I'm going to... I mean...I think...

-Shall we just do it?

-Yeah.

-Come on.

One of the instructors will be keeping score

and each successful move earns a point.

I'm up first.

I manage a perfect team spin...

..followed by a solo.

But as I try to link back up with my team, I miss a grab!

Oh, no, Radz!

We get back on track and we complete another team spin.

He's back in it now. He's doing really well.

But as I attempt another solo...

Against the wall, against the wall! Radz, Radz, Radz!

Again I manage to recover, and get some points in at the end.

But it's all over so fast.

Now it's Lindsey's turn.

Can she do any better?

Just like me, she manages the team spins, no problem.

She's off to an absolute flyer here.

See what I did there? I said "flyer".

Linds also nails the solo spin.

This competition's hotting up.

Oh, look at that. They are quick!

A series of quick grabs and a final spin.

But then, disaster.

She loses concentration and falls.

Has that blown it in the last seconds?

Time for lead instructor Paul to reveal the scores.

So the final result was 17-12 to Lindsey.

She managed more complete moves.

I'm lucky, because I fell over and it didn't count.

So, rock cakes for Father's Day,

because my dad loves rock cakes.

And my mum does as well, so that's two very good reasons.

With a secret message inside.

Fab, and the ingredients for that you will need are the following...

Plus what we need for the secret message, Tilly.

So, you need baking paper...

-Yes.

-..scissors and a pencil.

-Fantastic. Shall we get started?

-We shall.

-What's the very first thing we do?

-The messages.

-Yes, of course. Right.

-So...

-Is this where we draw a shape first?

Yeah, so you can fold it so it's easier,

and then draw a shape along the outside.

Perfect. So it's almost like doing a symmetrical heart

but we draw half first.

Then we'll come to the cutting-out part.

Like so. So I've got my heart ready.

-Yup.

-And once I've done my heart,

do I write my message in a pen or a pencil? How shall I do that bit?

Definitely pencil, because pen will run off inside whilst you bake it.

Great point, Tilly.

So you write your secret message...

What are you writing on yours, Tilly?

-I can't tell you!

-Ah! I like your style, I like your style.

OK, I've folded mine and I've put it to one side.

Now comes the ingredients.

Yup. So, this bit is really easy.

Pretty much everything just goes in together whilst mixing.

Perfect, OK. So let's chuck it all in.

So we've got the plain flour. In it goes. We've got the butter,

I'm going to get my fingers dirty in this bit.

In it goes, it's a bit yuck.

There we go. Fortunately, I've washed my hands, Tilly.

Cos there's no "i" in hygiene,

despite what my English teacher used to say.

Cranberries go in.

Brown sugar goes in! In it goes!

In your family, in fact, Tilly, who's the best chef?

Well, I'd say either me or my mum, definitely.

-Not your dad?

-No, not my dad.

No way! I tell you, when he watches this back, he will be livid.

He will, he will.

He seems to embarrass you, by the way, on the show.

Oh, he embarrasses me a lot.

He does. He does, erm... What's he done?

He's taken a selfie with my headmistress at a parents' evening.

-Has he really?

-In front of everyone. Yup, he's done that.

He's also... He doesn't know how to take a selfie, first of all,

so he holds it that way.

-So the back camera's facing him...

-HE LAUGHS

I've got one last egg to go in. Just going to use a single hand.

It's not a big deal if Gordon were watching...

Doesn't matter. Doesn't matter.

Oh, no. Disaster.

-Right.

-Fortunately you don't do that on the show.

Do you have a favourite moment from the show?

Um, I really enjoyed coasteering in Cornwall.

That was very fun.

Was it? We've got that there.

-Yeah, it was amazing.

-It looks a little bit cold as well.

It was a freezing ocean, you just had to launch yourself in.

You've done a fantastic job of mixing that there.

So now we're going to roll them up,

We wanted to make my return to the show as special as possible.

All clear.

In order to make it such a surprise, we took no chances.

Go, go, go!

This mission was top secret.

I didn't want to give the game away.

No-one could know where I was.

And I wasn't alone.

Helping me pull this off was Alex, the artistic director.

Alex, so nice to meet you.

I can't wait to get stuck in.

Nice to see you too, Barney,

but you're going to need to take the towel off.

No, cos people'll see me if I do.

But the show's in the dark.

Oh. Perfect.

Learning a dance routine from scratch is hard enough,

let alone trying to do it in the dark,

so my first rehearsal was done with the lights on -

and not those on the suit.

I only had one day to learn the routine

and pull off such a surprise.

So the pressure was on.

Showing me the moves - Rachel, the dance captain.

..Six and seven, eight.

With an idea of the steps, it was time for a dress rehearsal,

which meant one thing.

Getting myself into THIS.

-ELECTRICITY CRACKLES

-Wow.

It took 30 minutes to get changed, and once the suit was on

I had some very strict rules to follow.

No sitting down.

No eating.

No drinking.

OK, rules all clear, it was time to get dancing.

And that means the lights have got to go off.

OWL HOOTS

Oh, I haven't thought about this, actually. I'm scared of the dark.

Radzi! Radzi, help me!

The team have been dancing together for 20 years, and it really shows,

so the thought of joining them was pretty nerve-racking.

-WHISPERS:

-OK, this is my bit. I'm about 30 seconds away.

I've got butterflies in my tummy

like I'm about to get on a rollercoaster,

and this is just the rehearsal.

With all the computer programming and moves to learn,

each routine takes months to come together.

Getting my head round the dance routine

in such a short amount of time was tough,

and I only had a few hours of practice left.

But it was certainly worth the effort to make it such a surprise.

So there you have it.

Now you know what it takes to pull something off on this scale.

Scale - cos it's feeding the fish, yeah?

Fish have scales. No time for jokes. All right.

Well, I'd better get back to the studio, then.

Which means taking this suit off, which I need help with.

And...everyone's gone home.
