Did you know, in sport, a ball hardly ever stops moving?

In cricket and tennis, a ball comes towards us and we hit it away.

In basketball, a ball is either being bounced or thrown towards us,

and in football, we keep the ball moving

to keep it away from another player.

So, today, we're going to be looking at kicking a moving ball.

Who knows when we might need to kick a moving ball in football?

-Oh, Lizzie?

-When we're dribbling.

-Fantastic, well done. Sienna?

-When we're trying to get a ball off another player.

-Exactly right.

There are three main things we need to remember

when we're kicking a moving ball. We need to be ready,

we need to focus on the ball and move towards it. Be ready...

-ALL:

-Focus on the ball, and move towards it.

Brilliant! Let's go and have a practice.

Each of you have a football.

Three at a time, I want you to dribble doing little kicks

from where you are to the other end.

-But don't let the ball stop moving. Off you go.

-Woohoo!

A nice, speedy start.

Keep that ball moving, so lots of little touches.

-This team are great!

-Move towards the ball.

Kick it before it stops.

Good.

Whilst these guys keep practising, here's a reminder for you at home.

Be ready, look and move towards the ball.

I've split you into pairs. Team-mates with the ball,

send the ball out towards your partner.

Give it a big enough kick

so the ball keeps moving.

Your partner must then run out to the ball, keep it moving

and dribble it back to where they started.

It's their turn to send the ball out and your turn to collect it.

To challenge you a bit more, I'll be in the middle

trying to win the ball from you.

Quick, you've got to run!

This is going to be tricky. Can Rachel win the ball?

it looks like an early chance to score for striker Benny.

and now it's 1-0 to Moleton Wanderers.

-ALL:

-We are moles and we score goals!

-We pop up anywhere from big holes.

This is a disaster.

We're a goal down and just look at your pitch, Pete.

I don't think I've ever seen Groundskeeper Pete so relaxed.

Pity we can't say the same for Rozzie.

I smell trouble.

Oh, those moles get the ball every time it stops moving.

Yeah! They're popping up everywhere.

Then we've got to keep the ball moving.

That would stop the moles getting it.

And we wouldn't fall for any more of their surprise tackles.

-Don't we have to stop the ball to control it?

-And to take shots?

Sometimes it's better to shoot, pass and kick a moving ball,

so the game flows faster and you can avoid being tackled.

Sounds like a Puppy plan!

It's a lot harder to control, though, Pups,

so it won't be easy. Whoa!

So, as the second half starts, let's see if Rozzie's plan works.

-Keep the ball moving, Benny!

-That's easy!

The Pups are keeping the ball moving. Dig faster, team!

Oh, bums! I've kicked it the wrong way.

it's harder to kick it the right way.

the Pups have to keep the ball away from a whirlwind too!

To play this game, you'll need to roll and run.

When the whistle blows, one player rolls out the ball,

the second player chases after it and shoots for the goal.

They then run back to their team-mates, swap places

and it's the next player's turn.

The winners will be the team who score the most goals

before the final whistle blows.
