-I have several creatures

-to show you.

-We catch up with the meerkats.

-The farm gang look after the calves.

-First, let's join Sophia.

-My Animal.

-I'm Sophia and I like riding horses.

-This is Teddy. He's ten years old.

-His favourite food

-is carrots, grass and straw.

-I like feeding him

-every morning and night.

-To look after Teddy, I clean out his

-stable, brush him and talk to him.

-I attach a harness to his head

-to keep him under control...

-..and I place a saddle on his back.

-When I go riding,

-I wear a riding helmet...

-..special trousers, riding boots...

-..and I carry a riding whip.

-I started riding

-when I was three years old.

-I'm part of Tivyside riding club.

-I have lessons every week at home.

-I attend shows every week.

-I compete in showjumping events.

-Teddy can be very stubborn.

-He sometimes refuses to jump

-and I come flying off!

-I've won hundreds of prizes,

-cups, sashes and rosettes.

-Sometimes,

-Teddy breaks wind, don't you?

-Teddy is my favourite horse.

-I'm an animal expert.

-OK, today I'll name three creatures

-that begin with the letter L.

-First, L for lemming.

-It's a small creature

-that can be brown, black or white.

-They live in underground tunnels

-and in the snow.

-This is how they keep warm.

-Secondly, L for lemur.

-This creature comes from Madagascar.

-It's a little bigger than a cat.

-It eats fruit, nuts and insects.

-It lives in rainforests.

-Thirdly, L for locust.

-A locust is a type of grasshopper.

-It's 7cms long.

-It's innocent enough on its own...

-..but when they travel together,

-thousands come at the same time...

-..and that's not so nice.

-The largest group

-contained 40 billion locusts.

-Don't worry,

-there are very few in Wales.

-Believe it or not,

-their ears are on their bellies.

-What next?

-Amazing Animals.

-Oh, Tref, what will I do with you?

-Well,

-these are curious creatures too.

-These are meerkats.

-They usually live in Africa.

-Plants and insects -

-that's what they eat the most.

-They also eat fruit, eggs and small

-creatures like birds and lizards.

-They're great diggers.

-Look at their paws.

-They have long, strong claws.

-This is how they make their homes.

-They live and sleep underground,

-in tunnels and holes.

-Some holes can be as deep

-as five metres.

-That's four times my height.

-It must be cold there at night.

-Look at their tails. They can't

-stand up straight without them.

-Next, let's head to the farm.

-I wonder what the gang

-are up to today?

-On The Farm

-I'm Jano. I'm nine years old.

-I like playing the piano

-and riding my bike.

-Here are my brothers,

-Efan and Dafi...

-..and my sister Neli.

-Mam and Dad.

-We're the Evans family.

-We're looking after

-the calves today.

-We look after them until

-they're old enough to be milked.

-This machine feeds them milk.

-We take it out to the field.

-We start milking them

-in two years' time.

-Where's the cake?

-We'd better give them some cake.

-Take this bucket

-and I'll follow you on the bike.

-We're giving the calves some cake.

-That's my favourite - the Jersey.

-The calves are fed once again.

-These are our youngest calves.

-They've not long been born.

-When the calves are older,

-they eat swede during the winter.

-We're off to Dad-cu's to plant more.

-We must make sure there's enough

-food for the calves all year.

-These are the swede seeds.

-We use this machine

-to plant them in the ground.

-We plant the swedes because the

-calves grow too big to drink milk.

-They need food during the winter

-so we give them swede.

-They need plenty of food

-during the winter.

-We grow swede for the cattle

-for the winter.

-We grow potatoes

-for us to fill our bellies.

-When we have pigs,

-the pigs will eat the potatoes.

-They'll be ready in six months.

-There might be some left for us.

-They're nice with carrots and meat.

-This is Chris.

-He knows a lot about reptiles.

-He's brought snakes...

-..and geckos to school.

-It's spotty.

-It has a brown tail.

-The tail is very soft.

-It's purple and brown.

-It's like a leopard.

-A gecko is a reptile.

-When they're frightened,

-their tails fall off.

-The spikes are soft.

-When you touch it, it's cold.

-The claws are spiky.

-It can climb trees.

-It's very spiky along here.

-Their skin colour helps them

-blend in to their surroundings.

-They come from Australia.

-They have long tails

-to help their balance.

-It's light.

-It feels nice.

-It looks wet but it's dry.

-The corn snake comes from America.

-It's called the corn snake because

-of the yellow spots on its belly.

-It can grow to be two metres long.

-Can we have two at the same time?

-We had a great day at school today.
