Hello, I'm Ayshah with Newsround on Monday morning.

0:00:050:00:07

Here's a taste of what's coming up today:

0:00:070:00:09

We start your build up to the biggest footie

0:00:090:00:12

tournament this summer and...

0:00:120:00:13

Ready? Set? Throw!

0:00:130:00:14

The custard pie competition making a huge mess in Kent.

0:00:140:00:20

Have you ever wondered what it takes to launch a rocket into space?

0:00:280:00:31

Jenny's been to meet school teams from around the UK who've been

0:00:310:00:34

finding out just that, in a cosmic competition.

0:00:340:00:39

Three, two, one, zero.

0:00:390:00:43

A huge rocket heading into space with astronauts

0:00:430:00:45

inside, but how do engineers make it happen?

0:00:450:00:48

These students have been learning to make their own mini-rockets

0:00:480:00:52

with some expert help and there is only a little time left

0:00:520:00:57

before the big launch.

0:00:570:00:58

34 school teams from across the country have

0:00:580:01:00

been taking part in the UK Rocketry Challenge

0:01:000:01:02

and today, it's the finals.

0:01:020:01:04

Teams have to build, launch and land a rocket safely.

0:01:040:01:06

It's got to get high enough in the air and

0:01:060:01:09

keep flying for long enough and all the time

0:01:090:01:11

keeping its contents, two raw eggs, safe and secure.

0:01:110:01:16

I'm really nervous but I'm really excited at the same time.

0:01:160:01:19

Probably the most fun bit for me would be when you get

0:01:190:01:22

to launch a rocket.

0:01:220:01:23

We have already been to the regional finals

0:01:230:01:25

and launched our rocket and it came fourth.

0:01:250:01:27

We've built it, made it better and hopefully

0:01:270:01:29

it flies better today.

0:01:290:01:30

But safety is top of the agenda.

0:01:300:01:32

You don't launch when there are people around, cars around,

0:01:320:01:35

aeroplanes around or animals around because you can scare animals.

0:01:350:01:40

It has to be done responsibly and with adults.

0:01:400:01:44

The rockets are ready.

0:01:440:01:44

It's almost time for lift off.

0:01:440:01:46

Three, two, one...

0:01:460:01:50

That was awesome.

0:01:550:01:56

So cool.

0:01:560:01:57

It was actually really good.

0:01:570:01:58

We expected it just to fall.

0:01:580:02:00

I'm really happy the parachute came out,

0:02:000:02:02

otherwise it would have just crashed.

0:02:020:02:04

The winners will now be heading to Farnborough Airshow

0:02:040:02:06

in July to compete against teams from around the world.

0:02:060:02:12

The day is almost upon us.

0:02:120:02:13

Euro 2016 kicks off in just four days' time.

0:02:130:02:16

With everything you need to know about the history and

0:02:160:02:19

the changes to this summer's tournament, here's Leah.

0:02:190:02:25

The Uefa European Championship.

0:02:250:02:27

This is the 15th edition of the European Championship,

0:02:270:02:30

formerly known as the European Nations Cup,

0:02:300:02:33

which was first held in 1960.

0:02:330:02:40

France are the host nation for the third time

0:02:400:02:42

after 1960 and 1984.

0:02:420:02:44

For the first time, 24 teams are taking part in the finals.

0:02:440:02:48

Five countries are making their European Championship debuts -

0:02:480:02:52

Albania, Iceland, Slovakia, Northern Ireland and Wales.

0:02:520:02:57

Germany and Spain have both won the championships three times.

0:02:570:03:01

France have won it twice.

0:03:010:03:03

Russia, Italy, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Denmark

0:03:030:03:07

and Greece have all won it once.

0:03:070:03:11

The winners will qualify for the 2017 Confederations Cup.

0:03:110:03:16

Germany and Russia have already qualified so if they win,

0:03:160:03:18

then the runners up will qualify instead.

0:03:180:03:23

Let the kick-off began.

0:03:230:03:27

Wales played their final friendly warm-up game

0:03:270:03:29

last night ahead of the Euros.

0:03:290:03:31

Their preparations ended with a 3-0 defeat to Sweden.

0:03:310:03:35

Wales have only won one of their last seven games,

0:03:350:03:37

but manager Chris Coleman is staying positive.

0:03:370:03:44

We knew we were up against good opposition.

0:03:440:03:46

But I think we are a bit disappointed,

0:03:460:03:48

certainly, to concede three goals in the manner in which we did that.

0:03:480:03:51

That was disappointing, you know.

0:03:510:03:52

But I rather that happen now than when we get there next week.

0:03:520:03:57

The World's number one tennis player Novak Djokovic beat

0:03:570:04:00

Britain's Andy Murray at the French Open final in Paris.

0:04:000:04:04

It's his first French Open title.

0:04:040:04:05

Djokovic has now won 12 major titles, becoming

0:04:050:04:08

the first man in over 40

0:04:080:04:10

years to hold all four of the big tennis titles,

0:04:100:04:14

called Grand Slams, at once.

0:04:140:04:18

Athletics now, and a brand new British record in the 3,000

0:04:180:04:21

metres for double Olympic champ Mo Farah.

0:04:210:04:23

The record had stood for 34-years but Mo broke it

0:04:230:04:26

at the Birmingham Diamond League.

0:04:260:04:29

Great work, Mo!

0:04:290:04:33

Finally, take a look at this mucky bunch.

0:04:330:04:36

Things got really messy for this lot this weekend.

0:04:360:04:38

It was the annual pie custard competition.

0:04:380:04:39

Teams from around the world, most of them in fancy dress,

0:04:390:04:42

hurled pies at each other.

0:04:420:04:44

The winners were the Custard-teers.

0:04:440:04:50

That's all for now, we'll be back at 815.
