Hello, Hayley here with your Newsround update. | :00:00. | :00:00.
We've got the latest from Brazil ahead of the World Cup. | :00:00. | :00:21.
First to the story of the seven-year-old British boy who has | :00:22. | :00:24.
escaped the war in Syria after being trapped there for three years. | :00:25. | :00:27.
Muadh, from Birmingham, got caught up in the conflict with his mum, | :00:28. | :00:30.
and earlier this week they both managed to escape to nearby Jordan | :00:31. | :00:33.
For over three years, Syria has been torn apart by fighting. | :00:34. | :00:43.
And for half his life, seven-year-old Muadh has been | :00:44. | :00:47.
When he was three and a half his Syrian mother left Birmingham | :00:48. | :00:53.
to take him to see her family near Deraa, on the border with Jordan. | :00:54. | :00:57.
But soon after they arrived the war began, and it became too | :00:58. | :01:00.
Muadh's dad, Wael, stayed in the UK and has spoken about how dangerous | :01:01. | :01:04.
It's been a terrible ordeal before they managed to leave Syria. They | :01:05. | :01:17.
were living under daily bombardment by the regime. They were escaping | :01:18. | :01:21.
from one place to another. Over the last month they have been living | :01:22. | :01:24.
under the olive trees, because that was the safest place to stay. | :01:25. | :01:28.
Earlier this week they reached Jordan, a country where they | :01:29. | :01:31.
can feel safe, but they both want to return to the UK. | :01:32. | :01:34.
Something his father has been campaigning for. | :01:35. | :01:36.
Muadh is British and can come to the UK but it would mean leaving | :01:37. | :01:39.
his mum, who is separated from his dad, behind because she | :01:40. | :01:43.
isn't British and doesn't have permission to come to Britain. | :01:44. | :01:46.
But after all they've been through, leaving Muadh's mum | :01:47. | :01:48.
behind is something the family don't want to do. | :01:49. | :01:58.
TRANSLATION: It was terrifying, confusing, no safety or stability | :01:59. | :02:04.
The British Foreign Office, who help British citizens abroad, say they | :02:05. | :02:08.
can't talk about their case but they'll offer help where they can. | :02:09. | :02:11.
Right now, the most important thing is that Muadh is safe | :02:12. | :02:13.
We finally know the identity of the fourth X Factor judge. | :02:14. | :02:22.
Some of you may recognise her and your parents definitely will. | :02:23. | :02:26.
Filming for the new series begins next week | :02:27. | :02:28.
Let?s find out why Mr Cowell has put her in the panel. | :02:29. | :02:37.
Mel B, or Scary Spice as she's also known, | :02:38. | :02:39.
hit the charts almost 20 years ago in the girl band The Spice Girls. | :02:40. | :02:43.
The band topped the charts nine times and sold 80 | :02:44. | :02:45.
So, you could say she's got some experience under her belt. | :02:46. | :02:52.
And that's not all, Mel is no stranger to the X Factor planet. | :02:53. | :02:55.
She appeared as a guest judge a few years ago and is currently | :02:56. | :02:58.
on America's Got Talent, So the new panel is up for a bit of a change. | :02:59. | :03:04.
Gary Barlow, Sharon Osborne and Nicole Scherzinger are out | :03:05. | :03:07.
and joining Simon Cowell are Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Scary Spice. | :03:08. | :03:11.
Now, there is just one day to go until the biggest footy tournament | :03:12. | :03:22.
Leah is in Brazil for Newsround and she's sent us this from | :03:23. | :03:27.
Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, the city that will host the final. | :03:28. | :03:39.
Hello and welcome to Brazil, the home of the World Cup for the next | :03:40. | :03:46.
four weeks. Tomorrow, all eyes will be on the city of Sao Paulo, where | :03:47. | :03:50.
Brazil kick off their World Cup campaign against Croatia. But | :03:51. | :03:53.
thousands of fans will be packing out this beach to watch this match | :03:54. | :03:57.
on special TV screens all along the coastline, despite all the protests | :03:58. | :04:00.
that have been happening across Brazil, people angry with how much | :04:01. | :04:04.
money is being pumped into the competition. A lot of the Brazilian | :04:05. | :04:09.
children I've spoken to say they are just desperate for Neymar and code | :04:10. | :04:12.
to make that final, and there is a real sense that the party is just | :04:13. | :04:31.
about to kick off. Neighbourhoods are draped in Brazilian flags and | :04:32. | :04:34.
decorated in yellow and green. We won't just be talking about the | :04:35. | :04:36.
World Cup, we'll be telling you about life for children here in | :04:37. | :04:39.
Brazil in South America. We will also be taking a look at the race to | :04:40. | :04:42.
save the Amazon rainforest. We will also have a Newsround bulletin at | :04:43. | :04:44.
4:20pm tomorrow live from Rio. Join me then. | :04:45. | :04:44.
Don't forget, you can get all the latest on Brazil in the Newsround | :04:45. | :04:48.
And over on the Kickabout website there's a funky wall chart with | :04:49. | :04:52.
Print it off and stick it up so you never miss a match! | :04:53. | :04:57. |
