Hello, I'm Ayshah with Friday's top stories.

:00:00.:00:00.

Who will claim the gold medal in Rio? The gold medal goes to Great

:00:00.:00:17.

Britain, the Olympic champions again.

:00:18.:00:20.

Gold for British cyclists in the team sprint.

:00:21.:00:22.

Making a splash, Team GB claim three silvers on Day 6 of the games.

:00:23.:00:26.

And what could possibly go wrong with a giant balloon that

:00:27.:00:28.

It was another massive day for Team GB in Rio yesterday

:00:29.:00:41.

with a total of four medals won, including gold in the cycling.

:00:42.:00:44.

Here's what happened on Day 6 of the Olympic Games.

:00:45.:00:52.

Up towards the line, and the gold medal goes to Great Britain.

:00:53.:00:55.

Team GB have claimed a fourth gold medal in Rio, getting off

:00:56.:00:58.

They beat the favourites New Zealand and set a new Olympic record,

:00:59.:01:04.

To come here and be Olympic champion is just incredible.

:01:05.:01:13.

We have been working so hard and it shows it pays off,

:01:14.:01:17.

but it's not been an easy road, I've trained day in,

:01:18.:01:24.

day out to improve my starting and keep up with these boys

:01:25.:01:27.

Earlier, 40-year-old Katherine Grainger became Britain's

:01:28.:01:30.

most decorated female Olympian by winning silver

:01:31.:01:32.

with Victoria Thornley in the rowing double sculls.

:01:33.:01:34.

It was Grainger's fifth Olympic medal in total.

:01:35.:01:39.

In the first ever rugby sevens Olympic tournament,

:01:40.:01:41.

Great Britain finished with silver, as Fiji hammered them 43-7

:01:42.:01:44.

It was the country's first ever Olympic medal too.

:01:45.:01:52.

There was also a silver for David Florence and Richard

:01:53.:01:54.

Hounslow in the canoe slalom - repeating the silver they took

:01:55.:01:56.

Next, wild elephants could be wiped out in the next ten years,

:02:10.:02:13.

in many African countries, if they're not helped now.

:02:14.:02:15.

That's the warning given to Newsround, by the animal charity

:02:16.:02:18.

Poaching is the illegal hunting and killing of animals. It happens in

:02:19.:02:32.

lots of countries around the world and is driving many species to the

:02:33.:02:37.

point of extinction, including the Asian and African elephant. Africa

:02:38.:02:42.

was home to 1.2 million elephants in the 1970s but now the numbers have

:02:43.:02:47.

dropped to around 470,000 in the wild. The conservation charity,

:02:48.:02:52.

Tusk, told Newsround that if Poaching is not stopped there is

:02:53.:02:55.

every chance elephants will become extinct and the number of -- in a

:02:56.:03:00.

number of African countries in the next decade. Poachers hunt animals

:03:01.:03:04.

such as elephants for money. Ivory, which is found in elephant tusks

:03:05.:03:09.

armour can be legally sold for huge amounts. The tasks are sold to

:03:10.:03:14.

countries like China and Vietnam where they can be carved into

:03:15.:03:18.

ornaments, jewellery and even chopsticks. Some people buy them to

:03:19.:03:22.

show off how rich they are another is believe they have magical healing

:03:23.:03:26.

powers and use them as medicine, but scientists say the medicines don't

:03:27.:03:31.

work. Many people are campaigning to protect elephants, including the

:03:32.:03:35.

Duke of Cambridge, Prince William. It's appalling that elephants and

:03:36.:03:40.

many others may be extinct in the wild in our lifetimes. And that we

:03:41.:03:44.

seem to be hurtling towards that tragic outcome. Leaders around the

:03:45.:03:47.

world have made agreements to stop illegal animal parts coming into

:03:48.:03:51.

their countries, but it's still happening and it has not stopped

:03:52.:03:57.

poachers. Recently, thousands of elephant tusks were destroyed in

:03:58.:04:00.

Kenny to send a stronger message to poachers. Next month, governors --

:04:01.:04:06.

governments from around the world will meet in South Africa to discuss

:04:07.:04:09.

how to better protect our wildlife. The hope is to come up with a

:04:10.:04:13.

solution to stop animals like the elephant disappearing for ever.

:04:14.:04:15.

and one of the big attractions at the International Bristol

:04:16.:04:21.

Balloon Festival that's happening this weekend.

:04:22.:04:22.

We sent Jenny along to see it and absolutely

:04:23.:04:24.

We are sky high for this balloon, and it did not disappoint.

:04:25.:04:42.

It's big and it's blue and it looks real and it's like the

:04:43.:04:45.

The giant helium balloon measures seven metres across and is

:04:46.:04:51.

an exact replica of the moon and was painstakingly put together using

:04:52.:04:53.

It's taken about six months to make and I'm hoping

:04:54.:05:02.

that people will be inspired when they look

:05:03.:05:03.

at it and see all of the

:05:04.:05:05.

After all that hard work, surely nothing could

:05:06.:05:08.

The makers said the balloon burst because of high

:05:09.:05:27.

winds, but it is still set to go on a tour of other

:05:28.:05:30.

The balloon has been taken away to get fixed before it goes

:05:31.:05:36.

on the rest of the tour and like all good

:05:37.:05:38.

science experiments, sometimes things don't go exactly to plan.

:05:39.:05:39.

That's it for the morning, go online to see the latest

:05:40.:05:48.

Strictly contestant, you might recognise him.

:05:49.:05:51.

We're back at 4:20pm live from the Olympics in Rio.
