Hi, Leah here with Monday night's top stories. Coming up: Find out

what the Commonwealth Games medals look like.

And new badges for Scouts, Cubs and Beavers.

Our top story tonight contains a sprinkle of gold, a dash of silver

and a bit of bronze because the medals the athletes will compete for

at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow have just been shown off for the

first time. 6500 athletes from 71 nations and territories will be

taking part in the Games and more than 1000 medals will be awarded.

Each one has been hand-made by expert jewellers at the Glasgow

School of Art. If you're in the Scouts, Beavers or

Cubs you could soon be earning one of these new badges. 17 new rewards

have been created by the Scouting Association and they're a bit

different from building a campfire or putting up a tent. Instead the

new badges will reward skills like sending an email, posting a photo

online or working out how accessible a building is for someone with a

disability. You've been telling us what badges you'd like to see.

Curtis wants to see a badge for friendship, because it's important

to have good friends to put a smile on your face everyday.

Next up, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have paid their respects

to the 185 people who lost their lives during two devastating

earthquakes in Christchurch three years ago. In the latest stage of

their tour of New Zealand, Prince William praised how well the people

there had recovered since the disaster. William and Kate also had

time for a quick game of cricket. The Duchess, playing in high heels,

wasn't too impressed when her husband made this wild bowl. The

Duchess managed to survive three more deliveries without getting

bowled out. Finally, they're being tipped as the

new One Direction and yesterday The Vamps entered the charts at number

two with their new single Last Night. We caught up with them at one

of their recent gigs and put your questions to the boys. Here's a

taster. You are watching newsround! What was your funniest moment on

stage? It wasn't funny at the time. It was scary. Connor fell off. He

was fine and not hurt so we laugh when we watch that back. Head over
