This is Newsround.

People living in the north of Scotland are trying

to rebuild their lives after massive floods devastated homes,

businesses and schools.

Martin has been to one of the worst affected areas to see how

people there are coping.

Finally, the locals here in the small village of Braemar

in northeast Scotland had something to cheer about.

The Invercauld Bridge has been reopened.

It may not seem like a big deal, but just a few weeks ago,

everyone living here got a bit of a shock.

December was the wettest month ever recorded in Scotland.

Constant, heavy rain caused the River Dee to burst its banks.

This was the damage left behind.

These vehicles passing me right now are amongst the first to go over

the bridge since it was closed.

It's not a surprise that it's the people who have been

the worst affected by the floods here.

Before the floods we got one bus, it took an hour to get to school.

On

On and

On and on

and on It's kind of exciting to see the water that high,

but after you actually realise the power of water.

It's quite dangerous.

While the party is well and truly underway in Braemar,

people living in Ballater, just 16 miles down the road,

are still living without homes.

So is this really a time for celebration?

Just because we're celebrating an opening of the bridge,

doesn't mean to say we're not still working really hard to help

people in other parts.

There's an awful lot of work to do and we're doing it

as quickly as we can.

I've decided to meet some kids in the worst-hit areas to see

how they're coping.

I was in my bed when it happened.

You could see down the bottom to the caravan park,

and you could see caravans going past.

It was quite scary.

One of my friends lives across from the River Dee.

His house was completely flooded and he had to get airlifted.

Everyone has been supportive of one another, and those

who weren't affected have given up a lot of their stuff.

There was a big tent full of food that flood victims could just

go and take as much as they needed.

We went there a few times.

People have been very helpful.

We see a lot of people moving stuff out their houses,

or just being helpful to people.

It's good to see people come together

and help each other.

To Mexico in North America, and the Colima volcano has

erupted once again.

Ash was thrown nearly 3000 metres into the air.

People living nearby did not have leave their homes this time.

It's also called the fire volcano and it's been very active

in the past few months.

To football now, and Arsenal stay top of the Premier League

and

after a goalless draw with Stoke.

Wayne Rooney scored a late goal against Liverpool to give

Manchester United a much-needed win.

It's the first goal that Rooney's scored at Anfield since 2005.

United manager Louis Van Gaal was really pleased with his team.

We have made a very good start in 2016.

To beat Liverpool for the second time in a row, it's marvellous.

It shall give a big boost to the players, to the fans.

I hope that we shall continue with winning.

Take a look at this tiny baby penguin born at a zoo in America.

The pygmy blue penguin is only a few days old and was shown off

at Cinicinnati Zoo in Ohio.

The ball of brown fuzz is being cared for and fed

by staff at the zoo.

It's too young to know whether it's a boy or a girl.

This is Bowie.

Bowie is just a couple of days old.

Just now starting to open his or her eyes -

we don't know if it's a boy or girl yet.

But it is a little penguin, the smallest penguin species

on the planet.

And we are lucky enough to have the largest

colony in North America of these guys.

We've been pretty lucky and doing pretty good with these guys

as a whole, as a species.

A group of dogs and their owners have stretched and twisted their way

to a new world record in China.

The 270 pets were taking part in the dog yoga,

or "doga", session in Hong Kong, which lasted for an hour.

The previous record was 265 dogs, set last year in San Diego, USA.
