Hi, I'm Leah with Monday's Newsround.

:00:00.:00:10.

We're starting with some bad news on the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.

:00:11.:00:13.

It's been confirmed this afternoon that flight MH370 did crash in the

:00:14.:00:18.

Southern India Ocean. The country's Prime Minister made the announcement

:00:19.:00:25.

with deep sadness and regret. The plane went missing after taking off

:00:26.:00:28.

from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia earlier this month - something which

:00:29.:00:31.

happens extremely rarely - and the search for the wreckage has been

:00:32.:00:36.

taking place ever since. For more than two weeks,

:00:37.:00:38.

investigators have been trying to find out what happened to the

:00:39.:00:41.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. The plane left Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia

:00:42.:00:45.

and was supposed to land in Beijing in China. But it never arrived. Its

:00:46.:00:51.

disappearance sparked a massive search operation over many thousands

:00:52.:00:57.

of miles of land and sea. Some 26 countries, including the UK, were

:00:58.:01:00.

involved in trying to find the plane. Today, the Malaysian

:01:01.:01:03.

Government said it had to conclude that the plane's last position was

:01:04.:01:07.

in the middle of the Southern Indian Ocean - miles away from where it was

:01:08.:01:13.

supposed to be flying. It is with deep sadness and regret

:01:14.:01:17.

that I must inform you that according to this new data, flight

:01:18.:01:20.

MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean.

:01:21.:01:35.

It follows a number of sightings of possible debris in the area. The

:01:36.:01:41.

plane itself has not yet been found. Malaysia Airlines told the families

:01:42.:01:44.

of the people on board what had happened and said they would

:01:45.:01:47.

continue to support them in the months ahead.

:01:48.:01:52.

Plane crashes are extremely rare. There are still many questions about

:01:53.:01:57.

what exactly happened to flight MH370. The search in the Indian

:01:58.:02:02.

Ocean will continue as investigators to try to explain why the plane's

:02:03.:02:06.

journey ended there. If you're worried or upset about

:02:07.:02:09.

anything you see on the news, there's info and advice for you on

:02:10.:02:13.

Moving on, and to some new discoveries about the moon... It's

:02:20.:02:23.

something you see every evening lighting up the night sky but have

:02:24.:02:27.

you ever wondered what it's made of? Scientists have been trying to work

:02:28.:02:31.

out the make-up of the moon for a long time. They thought they'd

:02:32.:02:34.

understood it but now they're not so sure. Nel's been investigating.

:02:35.:02:37.

The Moon - when it's shining brightly you can't miss it and it's

:02:38.:02:40.

an object that has fascinated people for thousands of years. You may

:02:41.:02:44.

think the moon's just there to tell you it's time for bed. But it

:02:45.:02:47.

actually has loads of functions. The moon affects the tides in our oceans

:02:48.:02:54.

and the seasons in the year. It can also be used to measure things like

:02:55.:02:57.

time and date in a calendar. And sending a man to the moon in 1969

:02:58.:03:01.

was one of the biggest achievements of our time.

:03:02.:03:07.

By studying rocks from the moon, scientists thought they had worked

:03:08.:03:10.

out what was up there. But recently they've discovered it may have a lot

:03:11.:03:14.

less water than they thought. Researchers in America now think the

:03:15.:03:18.

moon is much drier. So what is it made of and why does it matter?

:03:19.:03:22.

Storytellers used to say it was made of cheese - well one thing for sure

:03:23.:03:26.

is that's definitely not true. I am holding a piece of moon rock, and

:03:27.:03:33.

that is not true. We used to think that there was

:03:34.:03:40.

water on the moon but it is not there in such large quantities.

:03:41.:03:44.

It's clear there's still loads to find out about the moon.

:03:45.:03:48.

There are plans to send more missions up there in the future so

:03:49.:03:52.

chances are there are loads more discoveries yet to come.

:03:53.:03:57.

Now to Kosovo in Eastern Europe where three brown bear cubs have

:03:58.:04:00.

been rescued. The one-month-old cubs - thought to be brothers and sisters

:04:01.:04:04.

- were being kept illegally inside two separate homes. Animal

:04:05.:04:06.

campaigners were tipped off when photos of the cubs were spotted on a

:04:07.:04:10.

social networking site. The trio are now being looked after at a bear

:04:11.:04:13.

sanctuary and authorities are investigating what happened to the

:04:14.:04:17.

bears' mother. Next: one for all you dog owners out

:04:18.:04:22.

there. If you're barking mad about your pet dog, barking orders at them

:04:23.:04:26.

might be the last thing you want to do. That's because researchers in

:04:27.:04:32.

France say shouting at your dog or yanking it's lead can leave it

:04:33.:04:35.

miserable. They monitored two groups of dogs and found the pets that were

:04:36.:04:39.

spoken to in a gentle manor and rewarded with treats were happier

:04:40.:04:42.

and more responsive to tasks than the group that were told off.

:04:43.:04:45.

And if you're a dog lover, head to the Newsround website to read the

:04:46.:04:49.

story of a couple that got married after their guide dogs fell in love.

:04:50.:04:53.

That's all from me, Newsround's back right here at 6.55pm.
