Hello - I'm Leah and you're live with Newsround this Saturday | :00:00. | :00:00.
afternoon. Coming up... Thousands of fans head to Wembley for | :00:07. | :00:10.
afternoon. Coming up... Thousands of Premier League playoff. And OD help | :00:11. | :00:10.
kicks of Radio 1's Big Weekend. First up to Wembley Stadium, where | :00:11. | :00:20.
the game with the biggest financial prize in world football is kicking | :00:21. | :00:23.
off in an hour's time. It's the Championship play-off final between | :00:24. | :00:29.
Derby County and QPR. The prize - a place in the Premier League. | :00:30. | :00:32.
Thousands of fans will be heading to the game and QPR manager Harry | :00:33. | :00:35.
Redknapp wants his team back in the top flight. | :00:36. | :00:44.
It is a massive game, obviously. We want to try to get back into the | :00:45. | :00:48.
Premier League, and there is an awful lot at stake. It is an | :00:49. | :00:52.
important game, but it is a game of football, and we want to make sure, | :00:53. | :00:55.
if we can, that we win it. This morning the Queen's baton | :00:56. | :01:02.
touched down in Wales at Cardiff Airport ahead of the Commonwealth | :01:03. | :01:05.
Games this summer. The baton is on a journey travelling around 71 nations | :01:06. | :01:08.
and territories across the world. The BBC's Cemlyn Davies sent us this | :01:09. | :01:15.
report. The baton arrived here at Cardiff | :01:16. | :01:19.
airport just after 11 o'clock this morning. It was all very exciting | :01:20. | :01:22.
and there was a really warm welcome for the plane carrying the baton as | :01:23. | :01:28.
it landed. Water cannons created an archway for the plane as it moved | :01:29. | :01:33.
into position. Of course the baton was coming from Northern Ireland. It | :01:34. | :01:37.
has been touring the Commonwealth. It will stay in Wales for seven | :01:38. | :01:41.
days, during which time it will be taken up to the summit of Snowdon, | :01:42. | :01:44.
the highest mountain in England and Wales. Then it will be taken to | :01:45. | :01:48.
England, it will go through England, up into Scotland, and its journey | :01:49. | :01:54.
will end at the opening ceremony in Glasgow on the 23rd of July. | :01:55. | :01:57.
Firefighters say they have managed to save the Glasgow School of Art | :01:58. | :02:01.
and most of what is inside, after a blaze hit the iconic building | :02:02. | :02:04.
yesterday. Dozens of firefighters fought for more than four hours to | :02:05. | :02:07.
bring it under control. The school is one of Scotland's most important | :02:08. | :02:11.
buildings and was where Doctor Who actor Peter Capaldi studied. | :02:12. | :02:17.
Sometimes things look worse than they are, so we have no idea. | :02:18. | :02:22.
Everybody is safe, that is what counts. It is a beautiful building, | :02:23. | :02:25.
it has not been destroyed, so onwards and upwards. | :02:26. | :02:29.
Now to Thailand, in South-East Asia, where the army are still in control | :02:30. | :02:33.
of running the country There have been months of protests against the | :02:34. | :02:36.
government and last week the military kicked politicians out of | :02:37. | :02:39.
power. The country's Prime Minister, along with dozen of other political | :02:40. | :02:40.
figures, are being held. This was the moment a Japanese | :02:41. | :02:54.
rocket carrying space equipment blasted off from Japan. On board is | :02:55. | :02:57.
a high-resolution satellite which will scan Earth to help scientists | :02:58. | :03:03.
understand more about earthquakes, floods and other natural disasters. | :03:04. | :03:14.
On the Newsround website, we have been asking you what you are hoping | :03:15. | :03:18.
to see from the new Doctor Who series. | :03:19. | :03:29.
Thank you so much for all those comments, guys! You'll also find | :03:30. | :03:33.
this next story over on the Newsround website, too. Baby | :03:34. | :03:36.
Bactrian camels. They are an endangered species, with two humps, | :03:37. | :03:39.
and this one lives at Blackpool zoo, because it has been rejected by its | :03:40. | :03:48.
mother. She has not been named yet but this little calf is already part | :03:49. | :03:52.
of the family at Blackpool zoo. When her mother rejected her, it looked | :03:53. | :03:57.
like she might not survive, but staff took over caring for her, and | :03:58. | :04:01.
now she is doing well. The mother did not want to persist with it, and | :04:02. | :04:07.
kept kicking the calf away, so it was our turn to decide to give her | :04:08. | :04:12.
artificial milk, and how is her with a severed mother. Role of the sorry | :04:13. | :04:18.
but mother is really important. This little one has to learn how to | :04:19. | :04:21.
behave like a camel, but for the moment, she prefers humans. She | :04:22. | :04:25.
behave like a camel, but for the to be fed five times a day. Staff | :04:26. | :04:29.
have to come back to feed her at 11 o'clock at night. Like all newborn | :04:30. | :04:33.
babies, she has to be weighed. The real test is to see how she is | :04:34. | :04:39.
doing. All is fine. As she gets older, to about three months or so, | :04:40. | :04:43.
we will start introducing some solid feed, then we will wean her off the | :04:44. | :04:49.
milk and moron to the solid food. Hopefully the rest is history, as | :04:50. | :04:50.
they say. Bactrian Hopefully the rest is history, as | :04:51. | :04:56.
endangered, less than 1000 remain in the wild. At least these little | :04:57. | :05:00.
calves are doing well. Sticking with animals and a webcam | :05:01. | :05:03.
has been installed at one of China's most important panda sanctuaries so | :05:04. | :05:07.
fans can check out what their up to. Pandas usually sleep for up to 16 | :05:08. | :05:11.
hours a day, and the rest of their time mainly eating bamboo. The | :05:12. | :05:14.
sanctuary breeds the endangered giant pandas in captivity and | :05:15. | :05:15.
releases them into the wild. These boys have just got the party | :05:16. | :05:23.
under way in Glasgow for Radio 1's Big Weekend. The festival kicked off | :05:24. | :05:28.
at 1pm and thousands of fans managed to get tickets. As well as One D, | :05:29. | :05:32.
there will also be performances from Pharrell Williams, Coldplay, Kings | :05:33. | :05:36.
of Leon and Katy Perry! The festival is on until tomorrow night - what a | :05:37. | :05:39.
line-up! Finally, head over to the Newsround | :05:40. | :05:44.
website to find out why this 75-year-old man spent 13 years | :05:45. | :05:47.
crafting a boring hedge into a giant dragon. And while you're there, | :05:48. | :05:51.
check out some of Newsround's other weird and wonderful stories, | :05:52. | :05:54.
including the room that's painted entirely in chocolate - tasty! | :05:55. | :05:59.
That's all from me - have a great afternoon whatever you're doing, and | :06:00. | :06:01.
I'll see you | :06:02. | :06:02. |
