Thousands gather in Rome as two popes are declared saints. And is

Prince George the luckiest baby in Britain? We take a look at some of

the toys from his tour. This is Newsround.

First, our main story. The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that five

British servicemen have died in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. The

families of those killed have been told. The MoD has said the crash

appears to have been a "tragic accident" and an investigation is

being carried out to find the cause. The war in Afghanistan started back

in 2001. During the conflict, 453 British service men and women have

lost their lives. But this is the first British helicopter to crash

their way people have died. The five person I who died when their Lynx

helicopter came down have not been named although their families have

been told. The helicopter crashed in Kandahar. The Taliban, supporters of

a group of extreme religious leaders, say they shot it down. But

the MoD says it appears to be a tragic accident. They have now found

the wreckage and that examining it for clues as to what caused the

crash. The Lynx helicopter was first used in the 1970s and has a good

safety record. In Afghanistan, it is used to transport personnel and

special forces. There are still around 5000 British troops serving

in Afghanistan. The UK government will take all their troops out of

to find out more. Next, hundreds of thousands of

people gathered in Italy's capital city Rome this morning for a

historic ceremony where two popes were declared as saints. Pope John

Paul II and Pope John XXIII were honoured in an open air mass in

Vatican City. Being declared a saint is the highest honour in the

Catholic Church, as the BBC's Alan Johnston, who's in Rome explains.

We just witnessed a hugely important religious event here at the

Vatican. Two former Pogues being made sense. To become a saint, the

church is to believe not only the art in heaven, they have to believe

you are so important there you can persuade God to deliver miracles. In

the case of one of these popes, Pope John Paul II, the church believes

two women who were very, very ill pray to him and were miraculously

honour the Catholic Church can be still on anyone. For believers all

Next, for the first time in quite a while Manchester United fans will be

able to go into school tomorrow with a smile on their faces. That's

because the Red Devils thrashed Norwich 4-0 in Ryan Giggs's first

game as temporary boss. Two goals a-piece from Wayne Rooney and Juan

Matter sealed the win, and the Spaniard was singled out for praise

by the new manager. He was tremendous for the half-hour

he was on. It was tough to leave a player like that out and he reacted

in the way I expected as a professional. He didn't sulk, he

came on. Meanwhile later today, Chelsea will

take on Liverpool in a top of the table clash. A Liverpool victory at

Anfield would end the Blues' hopes of winning the Premier League this

season, but Chelsea know a win for them would help Manchester City get

back on top. So what does Blues boy, Andre Schurrle, want to happen?

the X Factor is to close early after two months of performances. The show

called I Can't Sing pokes fun at the talent show and Simon Cowell. The

announcement follows the closures of some other West End shows due to low

audience numbers. The musical opened to positive reviews in March.

From giant wombats to cuddly kangaroos. Prince George will be

returning to Britain with no shortage of toys from his three week

tour of Australia and New Zealand. The baby reportedly received more

than 2,000 gifts from well wishers, including a surf board and mini

speed boat! Many of the toys were donated to local children's

hospitals. He didn't seem too bothered about this toy bilby
