Good morning, I'm Jenny, live with all the news

:00:00.:00:00.

you need to know this Thursday. Coming up...

:00:00.:00:07.

Young Carers tell Newsround about their lives.

:00:08.:00:13.

And the paraglider soaring beneath Norway's Northern Lights.

:00:14.:00:32.

The country right now, there are thousands of children like you

:00:33.:00:37.

caring for their mum and dad. They are young carers and take on a lot

:00:38.:00:41.

of the jobs around the house that adults usually do. They do this

:00:42.:00:45.

because their mum or dad is not well enough to do the job themselves,

:00:46.:00:50.

sometimes because they have problems with mental health. These girls are

:00:51.:00:54.

young carers, who look after their mum.

:00:55.:00:55.

My name is Scarlett and I'm a young carer.

:00:56.:00:57.

My name is Shannon and my life's bit different to everyone else's.

:00:58.:01:00.

One minute she'll be all happy, the next she'll be

:01:01.:01:04.

If I leave for school and she's, like, a bit panicky,

:01:05.:01:07.

it's always in the back of my mind for the rest of the day.

:01:08.:01:12.

When I sit in my lessons and I'm thinking about Mum,

:01:13.:01:14.

I'm not actually sure what she's doing and it makes me worry.

:01:15.:01:21.

When I first started secondary school, I started realising that

:01:22.:01:26.

everyone else's families are different to mine.

:01:27.:01:28.

They don't really have a lot of issues going on.

:01:29.:01:30.

I was at a friend's house and her mum will always

:01:31.:01:33.

take her and her sister out and they will always go places.

:01:34.:01:36.

Because, like, my mum wouldn't and she wouldn't want to go out.

:01:37.:01:40.

Caring for my mum has made me more independent and kind of made me see

:01:41.:01:43.

how grateful you should be for things you get.

:01:44.:01:48.

Because other people I see, they get things they want and take

:01:49.:01:51.

it for granted sometimes, whereas when I get things I kind

:01:52.:01:53.

Because I know that I'm lucky to have it.

:01:54.:02:00.

I will always be close to my family because they're really kind

:02:01.:02:04.

Everyone worries about something in their life.

:02:05.:02:11.

I suppose, I always just worry about my mum because of the way it's

:02:12.:02:14.

always been, like, she's always been there for us,

:02:15.:02:16.

so, we need to be there for her, really.

:02:17.:02:24.

And I'll be speaking to one young carer on Newsround at 8:15am to find

:02:25.:02:27.

out what life is like for her. Do join us then if you can.

:02:28.:02:32.

More child refugees from the Middle Eastern country

:02:33.:02:34.

of Syria will be allowed to come to the UK.

:02:35.:02:36.

The Government has said it will be offering extra help to children

:02:37.:02:39.

who have lost their families, and are living in Syria

:02:40.:02:42.

They will work with the United Nations to decide

:02:43.:02:45.

It's not clear yet how many children will be coming to the UK.

:02:46.:02:53.

On Newsround, we've been telling you about how many migrants

:02:54.:02:55.

and refugees have been travelling across Europe,

:02:56.:02:57.

Now people in Denmark, in northern Europe, have split

:02:58.:03:02.

opinions on a new law that the Government has

:03:03.:03:06.

Tommy Zwicky, from the Danish version of Newsround, Ultra Nuut,

:03:07.:03:10.

has been looking into the story for us.

:03:11.:03:15.

I'm standing outside the Danish parliament,

:03:16.:03:16.

where politicians have passed an important law.

:03:17.:03:19.

It allows for the Danish authorities to take money or valuables

:03:20.:03:23.

from refugees coming into the country, if they're worth

:03:24.:03:26.

more than 10,000 Danish kroner, which is roughly ?1000.

:03:27.:03:29.

And they do this for two reasons: one is sending a message

:03:30.:03:32.

to the refugees coming up through Europe, saying that Denmark

:03:33.:03:34.

is not a fairy tale country, where everything will be handed

:03:35.:03:37.

to you for free, so you may want to consider going somewhere else.

:03:38.:03:40.

The other is that the money or valuables will be spent

:03:41.:03:43.

on the refugees' own food and housing while they are here,

:03:44.:03:45.

There are many people opposed to this law and they say

:03:46.:03:50.

it is simply shameful take valuables or money from people

:03:51.:03:54.

To tennis now and the Australian Open - British number one

:03:55.:04:02.

Johanna Konta hasn't made it through to the final.

:04:03.:04:04.

She was beaten in her semifinal by the German, Angelique Kerber,

:04:05.:04:07.

Kerber will now face Serena Williams in Saturday's final.

:04:08.:04:14.

To football and Manchester City are heading to Wembley for the final

:04:15.:04:17.

They beat Everton three one last night.

:04:18.:04:20.

Goals came from Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruun and Sergio Aguero.

:04:21.:04:23.

City will play Liverpool in the final.

:04:24.:04:29.

One of the world's top para gliders, Horacio Llorens, completed the trip

:04:30.:04:32.

The Spanish air acrobat flew his glider under

:04:33.:04:35.

He had to overcome snow storms, low visibility, and the wires

:04:36.:04:40.

of his glider freezing, in sub-zero temperatures.

:04:41.:04:44.

That's all from me. Newsround's back, right here, at 8:15am.

:04:45.:04:52.
